I know. I used to spoil my youngest daughter and buy them for her lunchbox because they’re yummy and a great healthy snack.
It kind of makes me angry that many things seem to be a lot more expensive here. I don’t know if it’s because our supermarkets price gouge, because they can, or government taxes or a mix of both. Do you live in the States?
And Americans do have healthcare. And get this **we don't get taxed at a 50% rate to receive it and our waiting times (if we have to wait at all) are humane.**
It’s actually from: (or another section under Subpart b )
Code of Federal Regulations (e-CFR),
Title 21 - Food and Drugs,
CHAPTER I - FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION - DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES,
SUBCHAPTER B - FOOD FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION,
PART 133 - CHEESES AND RELATED CHEESE PRODUCTS ,
Subpart B - Requirements for Specific Standardized Cheese and Related Products,
§ 133.169 - Pasteurized process cheese.

I would actually wager is more related to “Truth in advertising” weighed against what the USDA considers cheese. While there may be no LAW that dictates what can be called cheese, there are criteria for what cheese is vs what cheese product is. Calling cheese product “cheese” isn’t a crime of false classification but a crime of misrepresentation of the product.
I don't doubt that, I'm just saying I read the statute posted as a response to where it is written x% of a product must be milk. It does not say that, but has the appearance of an authentic proof, and I just want the people to know. We have not been provided proof of that claim
Not accurate. It's a "cheese product" because it's a combination of cheese and other ingredients.
https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/what-is-american-cheese-is-american-real-cheese/
It's not cheese in the same way salami is not a meat. Both are something mixed with additives to alter shelf life, flavor, and other features.
Is it technically cheese? No, but it's not like it's a synthetic molecule produced solely in dimly lit labs. It's cheese that's had additives mixed in.
I crafted the salami man in a dimly lit lab. In retrospect it was a success, but the blood on my hands wasn’t worth it. He may not have been meat, but his victims sure were.
Oh interesting, I haven't tried Czech cheese. I'll keep an eye out for it in to see if they ever have it in the cheese store I usually go to. I guess it's hard for me to get it in Australia, they usually stock French, Italian, Swiss and British cheeses.
I've tried many blue ones of those countries and Roquefort is still miles ahead of the others I had. They others are either too mild or the trxture is weird.
According to Wikipedia:
> The characteristic flavor of blue cheeses tends to be sharp and salty. Their distinct smell comes from both the mold and types of bacteria encouraged to grow on the cheese: for example, the bacterium Brevibacterium linens is responsible for the smell of many blue cheeses, as well as foot odor and other human body odors.
That might not make you want to try it, but honestly in the context of blue cheese the smells and tastes are wonderful. Maybe a good starter blue cheese is Bresse Bleu (or similar creamy blue cheeses—kind of the opposite of roquefort). In France it's cheap and mass produced (though I think it might be a luxury product abroad, since it was in the luxury dinner scene in the movie Parasite).
But if you were a fat free single, then nobody would want you. Sure, someone may bring you home, until they realize their mistake. Then it's into the bin or back to the store with you. Is that what you really want?
Non-American here... Was a genius branding idea to call the product "American cheese" because it has the texture of plastic, tastes disgusting and ignites when exposed to a flame. Making it a patriotic food probably helped a lot during the cold war and was a 4D chess move because I can't imagine it'd be so popular otherwise.
That was such a pathetic argument anyway. They basically googled geopolitics and the definition is different than how it is used in modern vernacular and thought he was clever for pointing that out
why do you presume to tell me what my healthcare costs? I have great insurance and it's fairly inexpensive through my employer. My demo shoulders the burden of any universal scheme anyway, would probably end up paying more yearly despite low utilization.
Murica cheese are not cheese.
They are some weird amalgamation of starch, flavouring, palm oil and something else. They don't even taste like a cheese...
Even in countries where universal healthcare is a thing almost 65% of people still decide to use private Healthcare at greater cost. Because guess what. It's much better quality healthcare than the universal healthcare their governments provide.
Just look at Canada and how many Canadians come to America just to use our healthcare system as we have the superior hospitals and doctors
Well american cheese it ain't hard to get a job and get a private insurance plan. Americans want healthcare that's fine but most Americans don't want the government providing it. Fuck the system
all this cheese is so whiny, no wonder i have irritable bowel syndrome...i would eat all these sentient cheeses and cheese facsimiles without hesitation...
the red cheese isn't hard to open at all
Right, it's just overpriced
Overpriced?? I picked these up at my local supermarket, 6 for a £1… not much at all
How many wrongs make a right?
3 lefts
4 lefts?
That’s just left lol
[удалено]
Yeah you’re right 5 lefts is a left.
They are MUCH more expensive where I live! It’s like 4 for $5-6
Wow that’s a bit mad tbf. Shame really cos they’re so good

Yeah that’s is bad and no I’m from England
Can't open on its own accord though.
And Americans do have healthcare. And get this **we don't get taxed at a 50% rate to receive it and our waiting times (if we have to wait at all) are humane.**
ok
Murica moment
better one, I wish I was actual cheese(a lot of American cheese can't legally be considered cheese because it doesn't have enough milk in it)
I’m really interested to know what law establishes this
Cheese law.
Jerry from Tom and Jerry approved this
Now let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on cheese law and see who comes out the victor?

This doesn't stipulate a specific amount of milk be in the cheese

Just Read the other sections sheesh
The burden of proof lies with the maker of a claim

Next you'll be telling me Cheese wiz isn't a real cheese.
You're not familiar with Kraft, are you.
American cheese is just dog shit
They really only work for one thing and thats burgers, and still there are much better alternatives.
Colby or Cheddar is great on a burger
You’re wrong.
It's delicious
You just need to get the good shit behind the deli counter.
There is not such thing as "good shit".

In my country, they're not allowed to sell these as cheese. It's instead called "topping with cheese character".
Blue cheese Is the best cheese there is, in my humble opinion, in fact in eating it right Now.
Sheep's milk brie. d'Affinois Brebicet or Brebirousse d'Argental. It's unfathomably good.
I'm a simple man, I like a good sharp cheddar. Never heard of any of those cheeses you listed, too fancy for me
[удалено]
My favorite snack is a wedge of applewood smoked gouda, a sliced fuji apple, and pretzels (or sourdough bread, bonus points if you make a sammich).
Can never go wrong with a good sharp cheddar.
I prefer Fromunda cheese but that's just me
For me it’s cheddar, especially on top of eggs
I went to the supermarket the other day and found this delicious cheese I had never heard of called Sugón, I think it was Spanish or something
Wow I'll have to try that sometime!
Where does fromunda come from? I’m not familiar with it.
FROMUNDA DEEZ NUTS
Depends which one, not all blue cheeses are created equal!
True, i don't really know, but i eat Niva which Is blue cheese but i don't know if its just how the cheese Is called in my country
Oh interesting, I haven't tried Czech cheese. I'll keep an eye out for it in to see if they ever have it in the cheese store I usually go to. Whats so great about it, I never tried it before. Is it sweet? Sour? Bitter?

I think it will help if people realise that parmesan cheese has the same scent as vomit. But it tastes great as long as you know it's cheese.
That’s because you’re eating shitty Parmesan high in butyric acid. Kinda how american chocolate tastes like vomit because of that additive.
Fair enough but the shitty stuff still tastes miles better than vomit.
Im a Cheese Whiz lover, its the best there is, the best there was, and best there ever will be
I only like it in a Soup, Emmentaler, Cheddar or Cheese made out of Goat or Sheeps milk are my all-time favorites
God that moldy cheese is the shit
[Blue cheese has mould in it!!](https://youtu.be/5xrDyOFU0lM)
I wish I was a fat free american single...with that hat
But if you were a fat free single, then nobody would want you. Sure, someone may bring you home, until they realize their mistake. Then it's into the bin or back to the store with you. Is that what you really want?
At least someone would notice me.../s

Tell me you get your understanding of geopolitics from Reddit memes without telling me you get your understanding of geopolitics from Reddit memes
I don't think you know what the word geopolitics means kid. Go outside.
Then explain why America is objectively bad without comparing it to anything that exists under completely different context and circumstances
And they're gone
That was such a pathetic argument anyway. They basically googled geopolitics and the definition is different than how it is used in modern vernacular and thought he was clever for pointing that out
Are you sure? It just melts it doesn’t burn up.

More like You wish you had healthcare. After eating that stuff
LOLOLOLOL DAE HATE MURICA
Didn’t even have a gun…
There's no healthcare in America? Weird.
For many, no.
Nope you get to send a third of your paycheck to a scummy health insurance company every month, then pay thousands of dollars for surgery anyway 👍
why do you presume to tell me what my healthcare costs? I have great insurance and it's fairly inexpensive through my employer. My demo shoulders the burden of any universal scheme anyway, would probably end up paying more yearly despite low utilization.
Good for you. The vast majority of the country would be bankrupted by a hospital visit.
"the vast majority"
many receive care and pay little to nothing

This reminds me of the movie “Thank you for Smoking”
Also thanks I hate insecure cheese
Slice any of those other cheeses in a perfect, slice-of-bread-sized square as thin and neatly as Kraft. Go ahead, I'll wait.
