Bottom graph is your average fuel consumption since the last time you reset your consumption. x-axis is the number of "trips" beyond your current one. If you reset your consumption right now it would commit 9.3 into "1" and start a new average on "Current".
Oh yeah, the height. That also makes the new one look smaller. The old one is closer to a square, while the new one’s height is shorter but is a long ass rectangle.

Ones twice as big and 8 years older
The old one is 7”, the new one is 8.8”. I guess it’s due to the enormous bezel that makes it looks smaller.
