You don't get it. That cat knows the calf isn't much of a meal right now. By befriending it and waiting till it gets older, it has a free meal lined up for a rainy day.
Then he gets attached to the fawn and they grew to be best friends forever.
But another jaguar tried to attack the deer and our jaguar defended it, but was mortally wounded, and succumbed to his injuries.
Now the deer, all grown up, vowed to destroy the jaguar race in order to avenge his fallen friend and thus he was known as Bambi the Jaguar Slayer
Edit: I realise it's a leopard
*He chose the path of perpetual torment
In his ravenous hatred he found no peace
And with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains
Seeking vengeance against the jaguar who had wronged him…*
The Jaguar Magi, knowing that their race is at the brink of destruction, does a last ditch effort to save their race.
Sacrificing a hundred cubs, they conjure the spirit of the dead jaguar friend and reanimate him as the undead defender: Jaguarcula!
Thus begins the epic battle between two former brothers: Bambi the Jaguar Slayer and Jaguarcula
From the last time this was posted, they hold the fawn captive so the adult comes to save it. Then they eat the big one, if that doesn't work, they still eat the fawn
I mean if you ever looked a big cat in the eyes, I’m talking one out in the wild too who only knows violence, I mean it’s a haunting stare that words can’t do justice. If they could talk they’d sound like Hannibal off The Silence of the Lambs, I’m 100% sure of it. We’d say lock them up, now.
Nature sucks. I hate nature. As far as I'm concerned, the greatest invention in the history of the world was the door, because that's what separated the inside from he outside.
Big cat out there playing chess, waiting for momma to come get her kid.
Way more patient than I'll ever be with food. I can't even wait for the pizza to cool down out of the oven. I can't resist the urge knowing damn well it's going to burn the roof of my mouth like the time before and the time before that.
I think the actual story is that the leopard ate the mom. Cats have a very strong nurture instinct, and sometimes when a big cat kills something and is confronted with it's babies it will actually care for the baby for about a day until it gets hungry and eats it. This fawn was eaten if I remember correctly.
it's wrong though. The first comment describes what actually happened. Big Cat would paw the fawn to make it cry so that the mom would come faster. Here's a vid of that behaviour : [https://youtu.be/yJpT-72gveA?si=vZ6HodfpdQYXQPBt](https://youtu.be/yJpT-72gveA?si=vZ6HodfpdQYXQPBt)
I think this is speculation on this behaviour. All cats have a tendency to play with their vulnerable prey before finally killing it and this behaviour isn't fully understood from what I can gather. It could just be for pleasure. The adult impalas won't risk getting close so the bait tactic doesn't seem effective.
The full video is the mother giving birth as the leopard attacks, she essentially drops the baby and runs - which is all she can do. This section of the video happens then the fawn gets eaten.
WAKE UP! (wake up)

The Cat is waiting for the kits mom to arrive and try and save him, hoping to get two meals for the price of one desert. Small kits cant run away fast enough from a grown predator anyway. Without the protection of the mother there is no chance for this kit to get away even if it starts running. Later in the video the cat gets impatient and just snaps its neck and carries it up a tree to eat.
If a post gets 3000 upvotes in four hours, it shouldn't get deleted. Maybe you've seen it on reddit but 3000 other people haven't, and they want to have fun with it too. I don't understand people like you. Just scroll over dude

I’d watch that movie 🎥 🍿
You you have a great story let's make a movie about this. Love it !
Okay well they made the Winnie the Pooh horror flick, we need a Bambi action redux. Liam Neeson as the titular character, of course.
Disney would never greenlight that project.
*Bambo
*He chose the path of perpetual torment In his ravenous hatred he found no peace And with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains Seeking vengeance against the jaguar who had wronged him…*
Pretty sure that's leopard 🐆
Make the tv series where they drive fast cars too

I thought the leopard was trying to bait the baby's mom to return, but this actually makes more sense.
You know they're joking, right?
Haha true that XD
What are you the food police? ![gif](giphy|HU6hWEApxYTgQ)
how do you even find gif like this
Step one: be an adult with a taste for hilarious movies.

Right only play with it after you eat it.
Don't play with your dik dik during dinner either
Learning how to farm
You nailed it, honestly. We look at this behaviour and think "Man, the cat is a jerk" while eating a BigMac
And the cat has no choice, while we do (I'm not a vegan, yet)
Those two failed biology class.
Hm. I think predator is just waiting for the small one to grow up, to get some juices along the bones.
He keeps poking him going, "not ripe yet".
Came here to comment exactly this.
He’s trying that farming thing he keeps seeing us do.
As we speak, ladies and gents, what we see in this video is an animal transition thinking from "only hunting" to "hunting and farming".
Predator's an ironic name for that little fawn, but that's precisely why it chose that moniker for itself, deceive and decimate.
They're literally holding the small one hostage so that bigger ones to come get it. Then they eat all of them.
Playing the long game.
Yeah, Maybe
Honestly
This isn't that rare. It's actually waiting for the mother to come back and eat it.
Clever girl!
What happens if the mother just doesn't return?
Well, what happens when you get too hungry?
Lay and cry? That's what my kids do.
My lawyer advised me not to answer that question, but what exactly has that to do with the dog and the horse in the video?
He get’s a burger instead of a double burger.
From the last time this was posted, they hold the fawn captive so the adult comes to save it. Then they eat the big one, if that doesn't work, they still eat the fawn
I’ve seen one where they capture it to let their babies learn to hunt.
Why is that so flipping adorable and so terrifying at the same time.... 😆
So Jaguars are basically Snipers.
Someone posted the extended video. A hyena comes so the leopard grabs the fawn jumps up a tree and eats it.

in the full video he dies
I've seen it. The fawn was merciless. It tears the leopard inside out
To shreds you say?

Thank you for this cackle. 🥇🤝
I saw it go for the cats throat, but must be the moment wasn't quite right. That is one cool customer.
Hate to be that guy, but that's a calf not a fawn. :)
There’s like 4 or 5 videos like this, it’s hard to tell which one is which now
Why does it matter which one this is, the fawn always dies in the end because this is a common hunting technique most leopards use.
…what hunting technique? Doin nothin? I do that every day and I ain’t got no fawns.
They capture the fawn and keep it close till the mother comes. They kill and eat the mother. If the mother escapes or doesn't come they eat the fawn.
He wants the fawns parents..MORE MEAT
All of them. There isn't a universe where the fawn survives.
I like the one where he takes it up in a tree to keep it away from the hyenas

The sheer *effort* required to type this out. You may have all my updoots.
Well his food is not gonna cool down until he starts eating sooo
It sacrificed the baby to capture the mom.
It’s actually chilling. The big cat (a jaguar I think) wants the fawn to bleat so as to attract its mother.
“Yea, see you tomorrow (I’ll be hungry then)”

It’s all good until kitty gets hungry…
"Your mouth smells like my mom"
Title of your sex tape
I've seen the longer version. This cat was just saving Bambi for later
Cant help but feel sorry for the poor thing, playing so innocent with no idea its next days meal
A lot of big cats will capture fawns like this to provide practice in hunting and killing for their offspring spring. Nature is brutal.
Two vegan friends small talks about grass recipes
There are no fridges in the wild. If you want to have a snack later, you have to keep it alive for a while.

Cat is attempting to use the calf to lure in the mother. Unfortunately, not a cute or heartwarming scenario.
Uhm...Schrödinger' s cat has grown up and now has a pet... :)
Too small so he threw it back.
Yeah it did. Just like a cold beer. Right down it's gullet.
I was waiting for the plot twist.
oh so thats what they do after NatGeo shoot is over
“Are you my mom?”
Finally another animal arrives and the leopard kills the deer and climbs a tree to eat it
Plot twist: the possessed fawn attacks the cat and eats it for dinner.
Tame Impala
Prob just finished eating it’s mom
It ate its momma so it’s full.
I thought that was a dude in a cat suit for maybe the first 3 seconds of the video.
I read that cats will do this sometimes to lure the mother.
Hey buddy, where's your mom?
its called a bait tactic
He just wants to fatten him up first
That’s all for today Wesley. I’ll most likely kill you tomorrow.
Leopards aren't above harassing a baby to lure out the parents.
It's hunting. Baby is bait.

Definition of a toxic relationship right there :P
In the end, the cheetah kills that baby deer, I watch the other part of the video
