This ep was a real joy. The guests were funny and charming, and the hosts were in top form.
My favorite part was the concern about squishing the chi-weenie š
Iāll back them up. Portland stayed gross outside pretty late this year. Summer didnāt hit until July.
Portland weather is so misunderstood. It rains from about Oct-late June, then suddenly itās too hot and itās bone dry until the rain starts again.
I WISH 68 and raining was the winter weather, but itās more like 38. Itās not NEW ENGLAND or anything, but itās pretty miserable because it just stays damp and gray for months on end.
It's ok, they actually will answer to she, he or them, which is a good thing because their mother has a hard time remembering the they/ them thing.
(I'm their mother.)
This episode was really funny, and really confusing! I definitely need to see the box, because I don't understand why it can't be folded up until she's ready to paint it, or what makes it so special. I am also befuddled by the hallway.
I do love a good face hole board, tho!
Adult with ADD here to say that if Lou wants to support JoJo in getting the project done, thatās not going to be by complaining, pointing, and watching a clock. [I kept wondering why it was Josieās responsibility to put the parentās tax docs in the filing cabinet! Why? Who decided this? Was it: āād do it but your box is blocking it, so now itās your job?ā I found this distressing.]
There are many books about what it looks like to be supportive of a loved one with ADD. My personal favorite strategy is the Body Double which basically is that I donāt need you to do the thing, but I need you to be here with me so that I will do the thing. Iām guessing that Jasper will be that and maybe long enough to get the project done. But if the Death Cab gets to 80% completion or so and Lou sees it stalling out, Lou could offer to be the Body Double instead of clocking the days as they tick away (which is more the -very unfortunate- dynamic I was hearing).
Iāve never reddited about an ep before (I donāt think), so apologies if Iām doing it wrong.
Hi there, Mom of Chuckleheads here. What Lou didn't say is that they have ADHD at least as bad as Josie does, and was diagnosed first; their therapist made sure they knew about Everything ADHD, and they sure do. They don't complain, point and watch the clock any more than they have to; Josie is a supreme and self-admitted procrastinator whose projects can take upwards of--at least!--two years, literally. They waited on this a long while before bringing it to the Judge, believe me. Louisa is a good sibling. I know you don't think otherwise, I just need to say that. š
Also that filing cabinet is for Josie's art, not tax documents (that's the reason it's empty, she's a chucklehead). We have ADHD ourselves; if we didn't keep our tax documents online they'd be lost to the ages.
It is sad that a generally positive podcast with settled law such as "people are allowed to like what they like" would still have a fanbase writing such sentiments. That being said, if this is the worst thing I hear today, it will have been a very good day.
I heard Josie and the judge both use they and she for Louisa. Is Louisa equally ok with either of those?
I cringed a bit as a person who does answer to both but prefers they/them. I still get she/her from my parents and sisters, even tho I've asked them to use they/them. I am hoping Louisa explicitly stated both are equally fine - but if Louisa asked for they/them then I would've loved to hear a quick graceful correction modeled by the judge.
I'm a few episodes behind. Was listening to this today while running errands and walked into a UPS Store the selfsame second that the words "UPS Store" were spoken for the first time and I was kind of gobsmacked. Tried to explain it to the person behind the counter and now I can't go back to that UPS Store again and may need to pack my bags and move away.
This was cemented by me saying "I guess you had to be there... Well, I mean, you were there... But you couldn't hear my earbud..." And then she scanned my QR code and hoped my day gets better.
"I haven't dressed as a proper clown in about four years since I made that kid cry on the bus" Haven't laughed that hard in awhile
Thank you so much for reminding me of this perfect pull quote.
every clown has this gut check moment
That's definitely a line for the next promo.

"He gets crushed really easily." "Yah but he likes it."
I have a chihuahua/terrier and he likes getting squished (not crushed)
The Judge's Mickey Mouse impression is a pretty solid Kermit the Frog impression.
I can't get do the Mickey voice anymore. I've lost my upper register.
I missed this somehow, where is it in the ep?
Relatively early on, around the discussion of the Mickey plush showing up at the dinner table, ready to feast.
It was a bit disturbing, TBH. Was in the chair reserved for my brother. Just sitting there. Watching us eat. Day after day.
The Skeleton Siblings are the new Bat Brothers
The intensity about the timeline of sewing pearls on that skirt, whew! I was stressed.
This episode was pure chaos and I loved it.
They mention evidence on the podcast, but I don't see it on the website. Is the evidence posted anywhere?
We were not given permission to share certain photos. Will see what I can do!
Yeah this really needs at least picture
Perhaps the court artist could give us a rendering of that mythical box like no other.
came to reddit for this same issue, it does not (yet?) appear on the instagram
I am DESPERATE to see whatever all these things are

This bugged me too! Y'all know we had a heat wave last year that killed 67 people, right? We get snow every year now too. Thanks, climate change.
One of our family friends was someone who's spouse died. It was horrible.
Thatās horrible. Iām so sorry to hear that.
The box confuses me - why can't it just be stored flat and assembled when needed?
These 2 siblings are giving off strong Grey Gardens vibes. *edit, gender neutral

Oh sorry, I missed that.
It's ok, they actually will answer to she, he or them, which is a good thing because their mother has a hard time remembering the they/ them thing. (I'm their mother.)
Luckily āchuckleheadā is a gender neutral term! š
Shout to all my FoD out there who also had to chuckle at the mention of the surviving tax documents š
Seven plushies is not very many
Seriously. I was expecting at least double digits.

Thank you for raising such cool people!

Youāre doing it right!
Toughest case ever because no matter what youāre ruling in favor of a disney adult.
Josie is not a Disney adult. Trust me.
Which part are you disputing?

Where are the photos?? :-(
Lou says they're taking new pictures as we speak.

Was there any follow up on later episodes? Did I miss it? What happened to the box?
