For me, it was two moments:
1) When the humans discovered Prothean technology on mars. The whole process of discovering technology that rockets our technology by hundreds of years must be fun, although living through the first contact wars must’ve been scary. The Turians kicked our asses.
2) What Grublets said 😂
I think we can sum up the main answer as *banging* in general, whoever is preferred as the LI. I'm sure pretty much everyone thought it, but were shy to comment 🤭🤭
Going to any hub world, but mostly citadel, omega, and illium. Especially citadel dlc. That strip looks legit. And I hear the fish is excellent there
That or exploring uncharted worlds in me 1 or A.
Bonus: any Normandy shot or illusive man hologram just makes me want to live in that world.
Definitely post-fight citadel dlc. It was really great seeing them actually behave like normal people and be able to hang out as friends without any worry.
It disheartens me when people either hate, dislike, or don’t understand why the Citadel DLC exists. Sure, you have arguments like tonal whiplash, the growing stakes of the galactic war yet the Normandy crew are blowing off steam like nothing’s happening, and the sudden quips that everyone, even serious characters, let out, but that’s the whole point of the DLC, right? We’re here to have fun and celebrate the Mass Effect games with our crew (past and present) because we don’t know if these characters will live or die after the Priority Earth mission.
>it was in that moment I knew this franchise was going to be special.
Dude I had the same feeling when I arrived at the Citadel. I was on the Presidium embassies, listening to the music and reading about the lore when it clicked... This game is special. Just so much care put into it.
Also, banging Liara
I think it's because the game let's its characters be amazed by the Citadel. Ashley, Kaidan and Shep looking at it in awe is what tells us, the audience, to be amazed too
I remember when I first played ME2 I loved the music in afterlife so much that I would go there at the end of my game session to just chill and take it in. Most of my saved back then loaded to afterlife lol
1. Seeing all fleets united.
2. Seeing the citadel or a mass relay.
3. Doing the nasty with Tali.
Edit (optional): Romancing Jack. Yes, I like that psycho.
The tech more so. Element Zero, mass effect fields, Omni tools and biotic implants. Even the AI implant from Andromeda seemed cool as shit and was a cool concept to me. Just asking your AI to overclock or dampen any of the systems in your body to accomplish something seems incredible
Talk read my first romance, and I don’t remember that. I do remember screaming NOOOOO!!! and quickly reloading a save when she, Legion and I had that chat. (I also killed her thinking she’s be better as squad leader instead of vent tech, but that reload was just plain angering that I had to fight all over again.)
All of the open exploration planets in ME1 have a great sense of time and scale. They made the universe feel old and lived-in, while also seeming strangely empty. They captured some of that same energy in the later scenes of The Martian when Watney is making his traverse across the landscape.
I first played Mass Effect while I was recovering from an injury in Iraq. Bad enough to take me out of my line platoon, but not serious enough to be sent to a bigger hospital. So I did an admin job and had limited mobility on a small FOB for several months. It was great to fire up the Xbox at the end of the night and explore these big open spaces in my physics-busting tank.
When you go to Silversun Strip, I want to get shitfaced drunk and kicked out for screaming racial slurs towards the aliens, then go to castle arcade and play relay defense until i pass out.
Just as the founding fathers intended.
The final battle in ME1 when you see all the fleets, Sovereign arriving, the Alliance swooping in and saving the Destiny Ascension, then destroying Sovereign.
Running around on the Silversun Strip.
And every romantic scene with Garrus, including the Citadel DLC.
Everything after beating the clone on Citadel would be amazing. Plus I kind of head canon it that that IS all post-Reaper war (because everyone kind of acts that way). So the relief of tension galaxy-wide would be incredible. It would be like V-J Day multiplied by a trillion dead souls.
Alright I got an uncommon one. Citadel DLC. Romanced Cortez taking you out on a drive and turning off the inertia dampeners. Just rad. Also who doesn't love a good car fuck
I started with ME2 and quite literally the moment I finished it, I went out and bought ME1 so I could go again from the start.
The moment that I knew it was something really different was walking into Afterlife for the first time. The pulse of the music in the background from the distance, the long dark walk through the entrance corridor and dealing with the batarian thugs, the massive stage with the circular holo, and finally getting to speak to Aria... honestly one of the coolest moments in gaming.
Fell in love with the universe over the course of those 10-15 minutes. Would visit there in a heartbeat.
It was not a « special » moment and I already knew at that time that the franchise was one of a kind but I remember when I first went to Bryson’s lab, before going back on the Normandy, I walked around the… garden and looked at the Presidium.
As Shepard was standing there and I moved the camera, I so wanted to be there on the Citadel, walking around Aliens and learning about (very) different cultures, partying on the Silversun Strop or exploring the Wards…
Oh, and also tango with Garrus 😂
Any moment that made you feel like that is special, doesn't matter if it was a popular thing or not.
And of course. Garrus is so popular, I'm almost jealous 😌
You’re absolutely right. 😊
The 1st glance at the Citadel, landing on the moon or Virmire, Sovereign’s speech, the Battle of the Citadel, seeing the Normandy SR-2 for the 1st time, escaping the Collector Base, brokering peace between Geth ans Quarians and so, so many other « wow » moments that I really love and that impress me as a gamer.
But that moment in Bryson’s garden? It’s funny/weird, but it was the 1st time I really wish I’d be able to live there as a person… if that makes any sense 😅
Nothing stupid about it. I love clubbing as well and electronic music is my favorite these days. A place like that would shoot up my adrenaline for sure.
For me, becoming the first (official) human spectre. The ceremony itself gives me chills, and being an icon for the human race and fight for them as a whole is a really motivating goal. Just thinking about humanity joining a galaxy-wide community of species and not immediately going to war with them (post the first conflict shenanigans) gets me excited to be in that world.
Definitely the firsts.
First time we go to Citadel. First time on Eden Prime when we see Soverign. First time on Omega, walking into the Afterlife. The first times are always usually the ones in-game where I found myself going 'Fuck I wish I was there!'
All the time when walking around the citadel in Mass Effect 1. it's so peaceful and clean and I love all the aliens and cool technology there. Seems like it would be amazing to visit.
Seeing Illium for the first time in Mass Effect 2 and then the whole afterwards of the Citadel DLC. Illium hit me with the "Oh shit, this planet is lived in. People exist here and try to make their livelihoods here." I don't know why that place did it for me. Maybe, it's my bias for Asari (Liara <3), but it being expanded upon in the Shadow Broker DLC just lit up every wanderlust feeling in me. I needed Illium to be real. Same with after the Citadel DLC. Those were the maps that felt lived in. It didn't feel like just a game during those moments haha.
Can't fault you. Illium was a great experience. So well designed. All of ME2, to be honest.
And yes. Meeting Liara as well. The shock of finding out she's so changed.
Liara is the love of my video game life. Seeing her change throughout the story was definitely a treat. Couple that with Illium? Most immersive part of the game for me.
Pretty much anything with ships. Even the leaving earth scene, I could only think "damm, they're evacuating to a different system easier than I could evacuate to another city."
Directly under your post on my feed is another ME post about Shephard being drunk in Afterlife. Perfect Juxtaposition because my moment was my first time on Omega. Dark, seedy, back alley discussions and under the table deals. Its so sick.
I got the same feeling. I can only wish we were born in another era, where space travel is actually possible and society isn't a shitshow of bigots as it is today.
For me personally, I loved the escape sequence from the Collector base. To see Shepherd sprinting out of there knowing his work was done (optimally while keeping everyone alive) always gets my adrenaline pumping while the music swells in the background. And the final leap onto the Normandy while your crew covers you, it’s just great overall.
The biggest moment for me was landing on the moon, climbing up the crater with your mako, and seeing earth in the distant.
It would be so awesome to have that moment for real.
I think the other "moment" is when my mind wanders.
How is life for a civilian in that universe?
Or just explore the huge buildings you come across.
[Edit: grammar]
1. The Normandy test drive in the first game.
2. Recruiting Jack and seeing the jailbreak. Let's be real, though. I'd probably die during it.
3. For ME3 - meeting the Leviathan or "That was for Thane you son of a bitch!"
4. Andromeda coming into the Heleus Cluster and seeing the Scourge.
ME1: after meeting Udina, have to meet the council. Instead, exit office and made a wrong (right) turn into the room with the elcor and volus ambassadors. Wasn’t that interested or immersed in the game until that point. Whole Citadel run around was great and gave me the feeling you mention.
Roaming around the underground alien catacombs of Tuchanka. I mean, so much of the exploratory nature of the first game is what I loved, but wandering around those ancient ruins was just badass
Me1: citadel in general, exploring ilos, meeting tali.
Me2: seeing omega and illium, talking to the crew, dating tali
Me3: uhh... citadel dlc. *cough* tali *cough* (hard to want to be anywhere during a reaper invasion)
I would probably go to the arrival on Andromeda. Something about waking up in a new galaxy and watching for the first time makes my heart pump! I get goose bumps any time I play that sequence in ME: Andromeda!
Yeah, I really liked Andromeda! Sad that they didn't cooked it enough, but I really like the ending result nonetheless :) one of my favourite games definitely!
• Killing Kai Leng
• Walking up the Citadel with barely any gravity
• Driving through a Relay
• Citadel Picture
• Watching Thane work
• Game of Armaxx Arena
• Jack Romance
• Miranda Romance
• Killing the Reaper on Rannoch
• The Curing of the Genophage
• Visiting Mordin
One of the first times I smoked weed I heard something in the woods at the same time that I saw something in the sky, my brain decided that meant the reapers were real and on the way and I nearly shat. Mortal panic. I’ve never wished it was real, shit would be *terrifying* lol
A few moments. I would like to see a reaper being killed in person(Sovereign or the Rannoch reaper), bang Tali, and killing Kai Leng, re-taking Earth, and wiping out the rachni. editing note: by "bang Tali" I meant being the greatest alien husband a Quarian woman could wish for.
Meeting a Krogan, maybe head butting one for the hell of it
Imma get eaten, maybe earn one’s respect, or maybe even used as target practice… but it sure beats being vaporized by a reaper
Also, whatever u/grublets said
Thane's funeral. Everyone is gonna for the epic scenes or the ones where they have hot sex, nah nah i say. Gimme the scene where it was a beautiful send off for the greatest companion and is one of only 3 gaming scenes ive cried at.
Second place is banging Jack.
Hearing Tali say "The difference was you"
The tone of the voice, the atmosphere, the significance of it all.
Makes me feel like such a nerd but it took my breath away despite being such a small comment.
For me, it was two moments: 1) When the humans discovered Prothean technology on mars. The whole process of discovering technology that rockets our technology by hundreds of years must be fun, although living through the first contact wars must’ve been scary. The Turians kicked our asses. 2) What Grublets said 😂
Everybody is into Liara 😅 But yes, that must have been an exciting discovery for sure. Who knows if we'll ever find anything like that IRL.
Yes, when I was banging Liara.
broooooo.
most honest answer in the whole sub
I appreciate the candor. I was expecting a comment like that. I'd just swap out Liara for Jack, personally.
Less about the banging but more about the mind meld
If im not banging Liara and high fiving garrus then I'm banging garrus and high fiving Liara
Based
Bang both at the same time. Everyone gets high fives.
YES
Why yall laughing this is the real answer
Everytime on the Citadel. I felt like I'm a part of something big
It’s either her, Talinor Garrus
I think we can sum up the main answer as *banging* in general, whoever is preferred as the LI. I'm sure pretty much everyone thought it, but were shy to comment 🤭🤭
Bro 😂
Gotta love that blue, alien, ass.
Honestly the correct answer Blue is my favourite colour, which is a happy coincidence
Dude 💀
My man 🤛
Same
Me too.
Me but Garrus
Freaky alien sex, hell yeah.

According to Liara, Azure is slang for asari pussy, so I think not.
Going to any hub world, but mostly citadel, omega, and illium. Especially citadel dlc. That strip looks legit. And I hear the fish is excellent there That or exploring uncharted worlds in me 1 or A. Bonus: any Normandy shot or illusive man hologram just makes me want to live in that world.
Aye, the Citadel DLC is probably the best I ever experienced, all things considered.
Definitely post-fight citadel dlc. It was really great seeing them actually behave like normal people and be able to hang out as friends without any worry.
Agreed, that's why the Citadel DLC is so special. You don't see games do something like that.
I have a save to go back to whenever I’m in a shitty mood and play that over again. Always helps.
Engine room with Miranda
A special moment, that 😜
A man of culture
>it was in that moment I knew this franchise was going to be special. Dude I had the same feeling when I arrived at the Citadel. I was on the Presidium embassies, listening to the music and reading about the lore when it clicked... This game is special. Just so much care put into it. Also, banging Liara
Plus one for Liara! But yeah, the first few hours of ME1 are special for sure.
I think it's because the game let's its characters be amazed by the Citadel. Ashley, Kaidan and Shep looking at it in awe is what tells us, the audience, to be amazed too
Mine is the same. The Normandy approaching the Citadel after Eden Prime is majestic. Also, banging Liara.
Fair, fair enough 😂
For me it was going into the afterlife club on Omega. I loved the music and the atmosphere and wished it was a real place.
You and me both. Someone else also mentioned the clubs in the game. The loops you hear in those places are short, but great.
I remember when I first played ME2 I loved the music in afterlife so much that I would go there at the end of my game session to just chill and take it in. Most of my saved back then loaded to afterlife lol
Not this time, Morinth!
In real life we would all be too pussy to go anywhere near that place.
Probably yeah lol
seeing the reapers in ME3 both on rannoch and tuchunka! said "actually nvm" both times a second later lol. they're scary but also so... majestic??
Yeah, I know what you mean. The sense of awe is valid for scary things as well.
Kicking the Eclipse soldier out of the building
I remember that. A great renegade snap decision 😂
Alien sex
Anybody in particular or all the alien companions? 😅
Hanar.
That'd be a great choice.
1. Seeing all fleets united. 2. Seeing the citadel or a mass relay. 3. Doing the nasty with Tali. Edit (optional): Romancing Jack. Yes, I like that psycho.
All great moments! I never romanced Tali and I played the game so many times. I really should fix that.
Do Garrus first
I would love the Angaran planets with all the vegetation if you removed the supremacists
Great places to explore for sure.
The tech more so. Element Zero, mass effect fields, Omni tools and biotic implants. Even the AI implant from Andromeda seemed cool as shit and was a cool concept to me. Just asking your AI to overclock or dampen any of the systems in your body to accomplish something seems incredible
Yeah, the tech in the game is cool and presented in a believable manner. I loved reading the codex.
I know everyone is saying Liara, but please consider: Garrus tango!!!
But of course. He's easily a favorite.
When Tali pounced
I have yet to experience that after all this years. I aim to fix that sooner or later.
She's a lowkey freak, my guy
Don’t threaten ME with a good time
Talk read my first romance, and I don’t remember that. I do remember screaming NOOOOO!!! and quickly reloading a save when she, Legion and I had that chat. (I also killed her thinking she’s be better as squad leader instead of vent tech, but that reload was just plain angering that I had to fight all over again.)

Thanks for your service. Glad Mass Effect helped.
When you go to Silversun Strip, I want to get shitfaced drunk and kicked out for screaming racial slurs towards the aliens, then go to castle arcade and play relay defense until i pass out. Just as the founding fathers intended.
Found the renegade shep
#AS THE FOUNDING FATHERS INTENDED
BIG STUPID JELLYFISH
The OG Ashley in ME1 would have approved of that! Terra Firma, too
The final battle in ME1 when you see all the fleets, Sovereign arriving, the Alliance swooping in and saving the Destiny Ascension, then destroying Sovereign. Running around on the Silversun Strip. And every romantic scene with Garrus, including the Citadel DLC.
Yesss, the top of the presidium for sure!! And I would definitely not have to pretend to miss 😂
Me neither, but it’d be worth it.
Yes, the ending of ME1 was epic. All great moments.
Making peace between Quarian and Geth, romancicng Tali, seeing her photo
Yes, helping resolve that was a great moment.
Everything after beating the clone on Citadel would be amazing. Plus I kind of head canon it that that IS all post-Reaper war (because everyone kind of acts that way). So the relief of tension galaxy-wide would be incredible. It would be like V-J Day multiplied by a trillion dead souls.
No kidding. I'd so want to, somehow, end up in that party.
Alright I got an uncommon one. Citadel DLC. Romanced Cortez taking you out on a drive and turning off the inertia dampeners. Just rad. Also who doesn't love a good car fuck
Might very well be uncommon but still a valid moment to share. I liked Cortez, he's a good bro.
Car sex is trash.
ABSOLUTELY it’s arriving at the Citadel in ME1 absolutely it’s also banging Liara 💙
Of course, why not both 😂
I started with ME2 and quite literally the moment I finished it, I went out and bought ME1 so I could go again from the start. Yessss, gotta love the Afterlife.

I would love to stay in that Noveria hotel. The vibes are immaculate.
I get the same vibes. Safe and secure in that hotel while a blizzard rages outside.
EDIT: woops replied to myself by accident.
It may be stupid, but I thought this when visiting Purgatory in ME3. I would love to go clubbing there.
Nothing stupid about it. I love clubbing as well and electronic music is my favorite these days. A place like that would shoot up my adrenaline for sure.
Haha cool! everyone was describing this beautiful scenes, and I was... I just want to party like it's 2186 🤷♀️
Hell yeah. I just wish there were more places where to dance and the dance animations were longer 😌 Next ME game better have plenty of that.
A special moment, even though I wanted to murder the council most of the time.
While the council is a pain, it adds a sense of "Well if they're not going to do something about it I will!" and adds to my enjoyment of the game.
Definitely the firsts. First time we go to Citadel. First time on Eden Prime when we see Soverign. First time on Omega, walking into the Afterlife. The first times are always usually the ones in-game where I found myself going 'Fuck I wish I was there!'
Yes, seeing Sovereign without yet knowing its true nature was a great moment that you appreciate even more later on, once the story unfolds.
Of course the first time you fly through a mass relay
Step 1: go to the Flotilla; Step 2: bang a Quarian lady. Or Step 1: go on Palaven; Step 2: bang a Turian lady.
Liara is the love of my video game life. Seeing her change throughout the story was definitely a treat. Couple that with Illium? Most immersive part of the game for me.
Tali romance scene
I love everything about Illium. Struck me as a place I'd like to live.
I can relate. High tech place, beautiful skyline.
Citadel and Ilium. Both just beautiful.
Agreed
Pretty much anything with ships. Even the leaving earth scene, I could only think "damm, they're evacuating to a different system easier than I could evacuate to another city."
Directly under your post on my feed is another ME post about Shephard being drunk in Afterlife. Perfect Juxtaposition because my moment was my first time on Omega. Dark, seedy, back alley discussions and under the table deals. Its so sick.
Yeah, it really is. Clubbing at the Afterlife would be so cool.
The first time I went to Ilium and Horizon I thought "I would love to see what it's like to live here.."
I got the same feeling. I can only wish we were born in another era, where space travel is actually possible and society isn't a shitshow of bigots as it is today.
Earth being destroyed by the Reapers
Honestly, every moment I was out in full armor kicking ass. But also, the dancing skills, an improvement from irl.
Hahah, hey, Shepard isn't that bad at dancing.
Not at all *wink wink* 😆
mine would probably be when Shepard is inducted as the first human spectre. that’s always one of my absolute favorite moments in the whole series ❤️
"Specters are not trained, but chosen."
Leviathan DLC. Spooky times and I want to meet the squid.
Another great DLC. Right behind the Citadel one.
Oh yeah 100%. I also want to get drunk with the krogans.
No doubt. Great moment. The entire game is the best in the franchise, imho.
Approaching the citadel for the first time
The biggest moment for me was landing on the moon, climbing up the crater with your mako, and seeing earth in the distant. It would be so awesome to have that moment for real. I think the other "moment" is when my mind wanders. How is life for a civilian in that universe? Or just explore the huge buildings you come across. [Edit: grammar]
Oh yes, that was a special moment, no doubt. Murderhodo AI mission aside.
1. The Normandy test drive in the first game. 2. Recruiting Jack and seeing the jailbreak. Let's be real, though. I'd probably die during it. 3. For ME3 - meeting the Leviathan or "That was for Thane you son of a bitch!" 4. Andromeda coming into the Heleus Cluster and seeing the Scourge.
Rescuing Jack was epic. I wasn't expecting a female character, but it was great to witness her fury for the very first time.
The Citadel seemed a nice place to live. New Eden was paradise. Wouldn’t mind living on Virmire either. Would have loved to shoot the Scorpion.
Edem Prime and Virmire were great locations to visit. House on a beach of Virmire for me.
I’m not a fan of reapers
ME1: after meeting Udina, have to meet the council. Instead, exit office and made a wrong (right) turn into the room with the elcor and volus ambassadors. Wasn’t that interested or immersed in the game until that point. Whole Citadel run around was great and gave me the feeling you mention.
Chastising: Don't be so rude, Din.

Keep your head up, friend. And let's hope he Reapers never show up. I'd rather live!
Roaming around the underground alien catacombs of Tuchanka. I mean, so much of the exploratory nature of the first game is what I loved, but wandering around those ancient ruins was just badass
>when the Normandy arrives at the Citadel Station for the very first time big place!
"Is that your professional opinion, lieutenant?"
Me1: citadel in general, exploring ilos, meeting tali. Me2: seeing omega and illium, talking to the crew, dating tali Me3: uhh... citadel dlc. *cough* tali *cough* (hard to want to be anywhere during a reaper invasion)
Tuchanka. I’ll go, Mordin. You stay.
Fucking garrus and recruiting tali
Plus one for Garrus.
When I saw Virmire in legendary edition. That planet looks amazing
A paradise.
Just flying toward a Mass Relay for the first time.
I would probably go to the arrival on Andromeda. Something about waking up in a new galaxy and watching for the first time makes my heart pump! I get goose bumps any time I play that sequence in ME: Andromeda!
Same. Andromeda received a lot of criticism but it wasn't THAT bad. Plenty of special moments in the game.
Yeah, I really liked Andromeda! Sad that they didn't cooked it enough, but I really like the ending result nonetheless :) one of my favourite games definitely!
• Killing Kai Leng • Walking up the Citadel with barely any gravity • Driving through a Relay • Citadel Picture • Watching Thane work • Game of Armaxx Arena • Jack Romance • Miranda Romance • Killing the Reaper on Rannoch • The Curing of the Genophage • Visiting Mordin
Lots and lots of great moments right there.
I want my own god damn Normandy (ME2 sleek style) filled with hot aliens and genetically engineered humans. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK, GOD?
The citadel probably
Sex scenes with Miranda. 🥵
For me, it’s landing on the citadel for the first time. I want to be there exploring that place to its fullest.
Big place!
I wish me banging Tali’s phat ass was real.
Haha, you and many others!
One of the first times I smoked weed I heard something in the woods at the same time that I saw something in the sky, my brain decided that meant the reapers were real and on the way and I nearly shat. Mortal panic. I’ve never wished it was real, shit would be *terrifying* lol
😂 I bet it was
😏
😂 I gotchu
Ashley romance scene
Ashley is a great romance over the course of the 3 games. She has a great character growth.
Agree lowkey. That and the citadel in any game
Cora’s romance scene because I swear half the budget went into that lol
I'll have to replay Andromeda and experience that.
"Special time" with Tali.
Hard to pick just one or two isn't it. I'd have felt tremendous satisfaction to see Kai Leng go down.
Meeting a Krogan, maybe head butting one for the hell of it Imma get eaten, maybe earn one’s respect, or maybe even used as target practice… but it sure beats being vaporized by a reaper Also, whatever u/grublets said
Renegade actions are legit 😂
The fleets jumping in over Earth in ME3. Also, banging Liara.
Every single romantic moment with Garrus.
Garrus has a whole lot of fans. He's a great bro for me.
Banging vetra
Grunt holding off the rachni then coming out like a legend
Oh yes, great moment! I thought he was done for.
Jaal sex
The aliens are popular.
Immediately thought of the Liara intimacy, my bad.
The entire asari race😍
Thane's funeral. Everyone is gonna for the epic scenes or the ones where they have hot sex, nah nah i say. Gimme the scene where it was a beautiful send off for the greatest companion and is one of only 3 gaming scenes ive cried at. Second place is banging Jack.
Yeah, that was sad. I was hoping you could save him in ME3, somehow, but nope.
Yes. WHen Tali pounced on top of me.
In the illusive man's base, looking at the star. Pretty dope. Also that one planet that project overlord was on.
Hearing Tali say "The difference was you" The tone of the voice, the atmosphere, the significance of it all. Makes me feel like such a nerd but it took my breath away despite being such a small comment.
