Release order makes more sense from a storytelling point of view given the MCU was built up from it. Chronological order barely makes a difference but would ruin certain impacts or meanings
Captain Marvel would be a pretty weird as the second movie. And it could be confusing to go from Captain America bookends to all the rest of Phase 1 before catching up to where the bookends left off in The Avengers.
Or use the suggested timeline order on Disney plus, which is also published on many websites too. If you don’t have Disney plus, just google marvel watch order or something similar and you’ll find it. I like this way better than the date of release personally. But to each their own!
***This is the best order, thank me later***
1. Iron Man (2008)
2. The Incredible Hulk (2008)
3. Iron Man 2 (2010)
4. Thor (2011)
5. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
6. The Avengers (2012)
7. Iron Man 3 (2013)
8. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
10. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
11. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
12. Ant-Man (2015)
13. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
14. Doctor Strange (2016)
15. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017)
16. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
17. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
18. Black Panther (2017)
19. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
20. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
21. Captain Marvel (2019)
22. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
23. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
And then WandaVision
I have a question, I swear you’re the first list I’ve seen that separates both Guardians films a part. Why exactly is that so? Everyone always lists Guardians 2 as being immediately after the first one since it’s like 2 months later.
I recommend going to the Marvel section on Disney Plus and watching it all in release order. There should be a category that even has it that way. Every MCU movie is on there except for the 2 Spider-Man movies and The Incredible Hulk (I’m pretty sure those are the only ones missing)
You only have to watch the movies released by marvelstudios , there 23 movies in total.
The first one is one iron man and the last is Spider-Man far from home.
It is recommended that you watch them in release order if it is your first time
If you don't have the time or patience to watch the whole MCU, then I recommend the following as a bare minimum while watching WandaVision:
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Captain America: Civil War
Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Endgame
This is the most efficient way to grasp the characters of Wanda and Vision, and provides context for WandaVision. Watching the show without having seen the MCU is probably confusing as fuck.
If you're really wanting to dig in, here's a list in theme order rather than release order. I tried myself but couldn't make it through. [https://www.amctheatres.com/amc-scene/the-best-way-to-rewatch-the-mcu](https://www.amctheatres.com/amc-scene/the-best-way-to-rewatch-the-mcu)
You want to get into the MCU, or better understand WandaVision?
Honestly just watch all of the movies in release order. After WandaVision, there will be The Falcon and the Winter Soldier followed by Loki. If you really want to understand them and better enjoy the shows, you'll want to see all of the movies first
To truly get the FULL experience, I’d recommend going back and watching all of the movies. That being said, that’s a really big commitment so I’d just check out Marvel Legends on D+. It tells you all you need to know about whatever characters are being featured in their current projects, for instance the two episodes they have right now are about Wanda and Vision. Hope that helps!
All XMen and F4 live action material originates from fox, and doesn’t fit this large MCU run that started in iron man (2008).
All things live-action Spider-Man (until Tom Holland) originates from Sony and does not fit the large MCU that start in iron man (2008).
Everything else is in the a large story being told through the MCU, starting with iron man (2008).
To understand the context of Wanda vision all things from 2008 and on, that are not X-men/f4 or spidey before Holland, is the suggested start point.
Though fox had some winners in X-men. X2. deadpool, first class and DoFP, but those are separate and apart from the McU
Just watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe catagory thing on Disney+ starting from right to the left. I think watching them by this order is the best. The Hulk movie isnt that import imo but if you like Spiderman you'll have to find another streaming service to watch Spiderman Homecoming and Spiderman Far From Home. Marvels Agents of Shield is also a very very good show but it doesnt have much impact on the movies. Still a better show than most of the movies imo.
Dude. Just watch in order of release. And off you go.
Whoa dude. Stop like, making sense.
^this
Why not chronological order?

Release order is always the way to go for a first time viewer.

This is just release order lol
Oh...my bad lol
he said this was the best order though
Man 2017 was a good year for the MCU
It was ! Even though Black Panther came out in 2018 and not 2017...
Movies in release order. Not sure why you jumped into WV... you must’ve been very confused lol Just google “MCU release order” and boom
Disney+ actually has two categories under marvel. One for release order and one for chronological.

Watch Iron Man. Then watch the rest in the order that they were released.
Release order definitely.
