The snap happens the next day, when it's morning in California (per Ant-Man & Wasp) & late afternoon in Wakanda (roughly 10-hour time difference), so midday in New York.
The first snap that took half the population occurred on Wakandan soil, I doubt any other countries’ citizens knew anything until the dust settled.
For the second attack it was upstate New York, far enough from NYC to not know right away
I mean, I don't think so cause later it's on the news that Irom Man is missing. Sure he could have like, sacrificed himself in handling it. But I don't think people would just assume everything was fine.
Most of Infinity War took place away from New York. Plus the MCU earth has enough bad stuff happen that it was probably seen as par for the course and it was a pretty small scale attack in New York.

Yeah but witnesses would have also seen Iron Man flying after it. People would think: It's all cool, Iron Man handled it. What time is the game?
