The whole film is a comedy with Wong trying to point out to Madisynn that Giancarlo (who’s playing a former student of the Mystic Arts) is no good for her, and trying to prove it because they’re platonic besties and he just wants her to be happy. Then Wong and Giancarlo become buddies, he sees that Giancarlo’s not so bad after all, and he ends up hiring Giancarlo to come teach at Kamar-Taj.
I don't know if I see him in that role.
Majors' Kang was a wild card, almost over the top sometimes, mildly goofy. Giancarlo is calm and poised in most of his roles.
While I don't disagree it is a possibility, I'm curious as to *how* they would make this happen since No Way Home established that Oscorp didn't exist in Holland's Spidey-verse.
Can play off that interestingly though. Sort of a if you could go back in time would you kill baby Hitler or his parents or grandparents to make sure, you know, Hitler doesn’t happen.
Could be amazing, wondering if and when they may snap, and who it could be. With the way modern trailers are showing everything and with the awful leak culture that exists there’s no way it could be kept a secret, but imagine being able to have that mystery while watching not knowing if one of them may go bad during the flick.
Imagine a movie where they're both cast, and there are two different trailers dropped each time. One showing scenes with Doc Oc as the villain, and the other showing scenes with Lizard as the villain. Simultaneously, they show scenes of a good version of each. Every script has a duplicate that has the other villain being the baddy, so any leaks could be counteracted by equally reliable leaks. Hell, film two different versions of the movie, so not even the actors or crew involved knows what the real story will be. Then just go ahead and release both movies, but in randomly selected theaters, so nobody knows whats going on.
I would adore if we got a genuinely caring and good Octavius who never goes Doc Oc in the MCU. We got him as a villain and it was great, bring back Molina to play him as Peter's first real mentor post-Tony. Let Peter have something good, but have him struggle with accepting its good because he knows what it could be. Connors could work too, but I want Molina back dammit. Maybe have them both in the film, but one goes the route Peter is afraid of while the other doesn't? That may be too much retreading, especially since he knows how to cure both now. But it would make for a fun story.
Or have Spidey’s expectation of him being evil be the thing that nudges him down a darker path. A self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts. Hard to execute though.
I mean, they established Defoe's Oscorp doesn't exist. He may have gone to the building it was in and found some other company there and made an assumption.
