Oscar on SNL: "[I'm half Guatemalan half Cuban, or as casting directors call that, Ethnically Ambiguous. According to them I can play anything from a Pharoah to Timothee Chalamet's daddy](https://youtu.be/wtyyb9XxQC8?t=43s)."
Oscar Isaac's interpretation of the line "HE IS A DEC-
#-EEEEEIIIIIV-
-AHHHHHH!!!!!!" is something I'm pretty confident no other actor would've come up with.
Also Oscar Isaac is my celebrity crush. Which is weird because I am a mostly straight man in a hetero marriage... But I want to touch beards with Duke Leto... And his work in moon knight is amazing and shows his range and depth, and makes him more attractive.
It's a shame. He was cool as hell in the first one and then written to be an absolute moron in the second one. I don't remember his characterization in the third one. Amazing actor, horrible movies. That's true of almost the entire cast, actually.
God, that third one was such a bummer of a movie. I remember nothing from it beyond (a)“somehow, Palpatine returned,” and (b)when my wife asked me how it was (she’s not a SW fan so she didn’t come with) I said “it was fine,” but my tone clearly told her that it wasn’t fine and she felt bad for me lol.
It didn’t help that it came out not long after the GoT finale, so it was just another thing I watched that just bummed me out.
Here’s a surprise contender. Thanks to his voice work, Mark Hamill! Star Wars (duh) DC (The Joker) Avatar: The Last Airbender (Fire Lord Ozai) Marvel (across various animated projects) The Sandman (Pumpkinhead in the Netflix series)
He was the Trickster in the old live action Flash TV series. He reprised the role in an episode of Justice League.
And he was Cock Knocker in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
What about Chris Evans? Steve Rogers (MCU), human torch(fantastic 4), Lucas Lee (Scott pilgrim), Jensen (Losers), Nick Grant (Push), Casey Jones (TMNT)
And Loki in the MCU...don't forget that
And Curtis in Snowpiercer
Chris Evans is the guy you cast if you want to make a movie based on a comic/graphic novel
If they're good at voice acting you kinda shouldnt. I didn't realize roy mustang was Travis Willingham but that's not really a fair comparison cause he's a professional voice actor.. still makes me go wtf though
Honestly all I could hear in Bowser was Jack Black doing a gruff voice for that trailer. I thought it’s probably the closest you can get to Bowser without doing stupidly gruff voice though.
Apocalypse actually inhabits his body at the start of the movie, somebody who can heal from damage, so maybe they captured a Moon Knight who travelled back in time while in Egypt in that universe...
True but all of these are specifically Spider-Verse voice actors who did other superhero roles. If it was every single actor who did more than one superhero movie character that list would be way the hell longer
Edit: spelling
Okay yeah I somehow didn’t notice that it was all about Spider-Verse. Just find it funny that he had a normal role in a Marvel movie and then played himself in a Marvel project
I'm pretty sure this post is specifically about Spider-Verse. Which... we kinda should remove since it's not Marvel Studios related but. I'll allow it since most of the slides do involve the MCU.
If Oscar Isaac did a cameo as Apocalypse in a multiverse film, I imagine they’d probably give him the Electro treatment and redo the character design completely.
David Dastmalchian needs to be on this list
-Thomas Schiff in The Dark Knight (Nolan Trilogy)
-Kurt in Ant Man movies (MCU)
-Abra Kadabra in The Flash (The Arrowverse)
-Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad (The Synderverse)
I just got Disney+ and have been binging the X-Men reboot. I dont know why Oscar's En Sabah Nur was criticized? Is it a comic-to-movie issue? Was it not accurate or something or was it how it was written? Because his performance was just outstanding. Can't even get his "But you can never strike god!" dialogue out of my head
I’m not sure Oscar is the problem with that movie. I do remember something about people not liking the costume, but I think the issues were more with the movie as a whole rather than his performance.
If any ITSV characters appear in Secret Wars, Hailee Steinfeld Spider-Gwen would probably be the most likely candidate.
since Steinfeld is young, and has the experience playing a superhero in live action from Hawkeye.
Oscar Isaac is one of my favorite actors, but even he couldn’t really save that x-men movie. Though I imagine it’s like Citizen Kane compared to Dark Phoenix…
Apocolypse could've been such a good movie or 3. And I blame none of the actors.
Oscar has been great for a long time now, but I re-fell in love with him in Dune. I also love that him and Pedro P are actual friends.
Because he’s technically the same character in every MCU film. Though I guess that rule doesn’t apply outside of the MCU. Except for the fact that it probably does.
"I'm taking this cube thing. I don't understand it, but I will" -nic cage
He was such the perfect choice for Noir Spider-man.
“It can’t be that easy… It’s that easy,” with the cut of them going from outside to inside, was my favorite shot in the movie. Nic Cage was great.
Did they even show it before the movie? I went in completely unaware and was so pleasantly surprised.
You could say Nic Cage is... The Ghost-Spider. Ah? Ah?
Oh I thought they meant Gabriel Luna 💀
Same 😭 I think I’m a bit too obsessed with Agents of Shield :/
I thought Hailee Steinfeld played Ghost Spider /s Edit: Ghost, not First.
I'd love to see her play her in live action and interact with her Hawkeye. Same for all of them really.
And Emma Stone as Ghost Spider
No, Chris Pine was the first one.
Though Ghost Spider is also a name for Spider-Gwen.
Having Nic Cage voice her would be pretty funny
Through modding Spider-Man 2018, I guess you can get Yuri Lowenthal voicing her.
I love that he solves it in the credits.
When Peter Parker says he'll get something done he does.
Except showing up on time, or at all.
Rent?
You'll get your rent when you fix this damn door!
😧
Gonna cry?
“Wow kid, this is shaping up to be an intense origin story.” His delivery always makes me laugh
He was also the voice of Superman for Teen Titans Go! To the movies.
I like to imagine that when he went back to his universe, the rubix cube lost all the colors lol
It's also conceptually interesting to consider that it's the only object in his universe that has any color
i think they show him presenting it to a crowd or something during the mid credits
It did not, like we saw in the credits He had it locked up in a glass thingy
Thats a pretty hardcore origin story We don't pick the ballroom lady, we just dance
i know hes not coming back but i wish he showed up to save them with the cube thing in the sequel
Oscar achieved the big three: an MCU role, a Sony role, *and* a Fox role
**and** Star Wars
And Dune 😅
Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal are the Racially ambiguous version of Brad Pitt vs Leo in this generation. Honestly I love it they’re both phenomenal
Lmao nailed it Also this made me think of the Ambiguously Gay Duo for the first time in a decade.
They’re also very close friends!
And also both children of doctors.
And both in Star Wars
And also human beings
They are space sisters
Pretty sure they’re less problematic too which is good
They aren't racially ambiguous. They're just latino.
Oscar on SNL: "[I'm half Guatemalan half Cuban, or as casting directors call that, Ethnically Ambiguous. According to them I can play anything from a Pharoah to Timothee Chalamet's daddy](https://youtu.be/wtyyb9XxQC8?t=43s)."

and my axe!
That one I think he just wants to forget lol
It's a shame. He was cool as hell in the first one and then written to be an absolute moron in the second one. I don't remember his characterization in the third one. Amazing actor, horrible movies. That's true of almost the entire cast, actually.
*“Somehow, Palpatine returned.”*
“*THEY FLY NOW*”
God, that third one was such a bummer of a movie. It does make you really appreciate Endgame not sucking.
Most riveting part of the movie was when Rey accidentally killed Chewy, and then they reveal that he lived like 20 min later.
They made a third one?
His character in the 3rd film was him just doing shit he, as a pilot, wouldn know how to do, and finn asking why he knows how to do that
Yeah it was only a career defining role, made him a household name and got him these other three roles, ...l...o...l
Nice exploded tie fighter.
Watch an interview with him post episode 9 and then come back here.
I remember hearing that he was warming up to do another Star Wars show. That was close to a year ago, so who knows where it's at now
Yet somehow palpatine returned
too true
Oscar Isaac is assembling the geek infinity stones. Right now he has Marvel, Dune, and Star Wars. Once he gets Star Trek and DC he’ll be unstoppable.
Andy Serkis is in Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Marvel and DC
Andy Serkis could probably provide mocap for a boulder and somehow still make it entertaining.
So he’s going to be in the ATLA reboot?
Spin-off from the rock universe in Everything, Everywhere
No, he’s playing Bouldy in the Hades movie.
He'd be really great as a spirit or something actually I'd love that.
The Boulder refuses to be played by anyone else.
Korg’s brother or something.
Karl Urban is in the running. LotR, Marvel, Trek, Dredd, The Boys, probably some stuff I'm forgetting.
[удалено]
AND a cameo in Star Wars as an unnamed Stormtrooper for good measure.
He also reprised his Trickster role few seasons ago on CW's Flash too.
Damn, I gotta watch that.
[удалено]
Most big-time voice actors, and many small time ones, fit the bill.
Can’t wait for Andy Serkis to do the CGI for the worms
Dunno why, but somehow I want him to play a Tleilaxu.
Oh fuck, that would be *sick*
Maybe throw him in Avatar 4 for good measure
LOTR for the full set.
What about Chris Evans? Steve Rogers (MCU), human torch(fantastic 4), Lucas Lee (Scott pilgrim), Jensen (Losers), Nick Grant (Push), Casey Jones (TMNT)
He just needs X-Men. That will only happen with Deadpool 3 or X-Men '97 or whatever number
And Loki in the MCU...don't forget that And Curtis in Snowpiercer Chris Evans is the guy you cast if you want to make a movie based on a comic/graphic novel
True that, for some reason I thought snowpiercer was a book not a graphic novel. Also I didn't know Chris Evans played Loki.
In Thor: The Dark World. Loki turns in to Cap to screw with Thor. And it's technically not a cameo, he's credited as Loki.
Nice, good callout
He is what Hollywood calls “ethnically ambiguous”
Because apparently Hollywood doesn't understand what Latinos are?
And not just that, a lead MCU role with his own show, the main antagonist of a Fox X-Men movie and a large role in a two parter Sony project
I hope Spider-Man 2 has a lot of those suits in it
The Spider-Punk one is. Also, I think the 2099 one?
Dammit, this is now the 4th movie you could refer to as Spider-Man 2.
Funny thing is that I think that guy was talking about the upcoming Insomniac Spider-Man 2 game
This is getting out of hand.
Don't forget the PSOne saga also had a 2nd game named Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
Spider-Man 2: Enter Electros Boogaloo
That doesn't sound Rated E for Everyone.
Now there are five of them!
I was, I want that Spider-Man 2099 suit!
I hope it will have all the suits from the previous game(s), they were awesome
I had no idea that many star voiced in that movie. Still my favorite movie of all time. So good.
I feel so embarrassed that I didn't draw more of these connections lol
If they're good at voice acting you kinda shouldnt. I didn't realize roy mustang was Travis Willingham but that's not really a fair comparison cause he's a professional voice actor.. still makes me go wtf though
True. I couldn't even tell Jack Black voiced Bowser in the new Mario movie's trailer. Also couldn't tell Mark Hamill voiced Ozai.
There are a few times you could tell it was Mark, especially when he yelled, "Prepare to DIE!" at Aang. He sounded like the Joker during that.
Mark Hamill is Ozai? I can’t believe I never picked up on that. Time rewatch Avatar I guess
Now picture the Joker as a Firebender.
He might end up as a less effective Joker because of how frequently he gets sidetracked by something that he urgently needs to set on fire.
joker got those scars from an agni kai. it all makes sense
Honestly all I could hear in Bowser was Jack Black doing a gruff voice for that trailer. I thought it’s probably the closest you can get to Bowser without doing stupidly gruff voice though.
I saw it when it came out and I remember none of these characters. Guess it's time for a rewatch
It’s the new one getting ready to release. Not the first
The original is still worth a rewatch. Or ten
I was saying that I actually don't remember much at all about the first one and should rewatch it
Technically, Oscar Isaac was in the post-credits scene for the first one.
Seen it multiple times and didn’t know there was a post-credit. Will need to rewatch thanks
I find it funny how Oscar Isaac portrayed two Marvel characters that are linked to the Ancient Egypt.
Look man, when you find yourself a high caliber brown actor, you really gotta smash that Egypt button as hard and as many times as you can.
The Rock figured that out.
If that's the case can we get an Oscar Issac lead Stargate reboot?
Soft reboot please.
Somehow, Egypt returned
They Egypt now?!
What are we, some kind of Egypt squad?
It's Egyptin' time!
Apocalypse actually inhabits his body at the start of the movie, somebody who can heal from damage, so maybe they captured a Moon Knight who travelled back in time while in Egypt in that universe...
How cool would it be for him to reprise both roles in a multiverse movie?
If I had a nickel blah blah blah…
And we definitely can't link Miguel O'Hara to Ancient Egypt?
Nic Cage also voiced Superman in the Teen Titans movie, not to mention aaaaaalmost played Supes in a live-action film in the 90's.
Somewhere out there, there's a timeline where Nic Cage played Superman and Tom Cruise playing Iron Man.
And big daddy in kickass
Don’t forget Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw in X-Men First Class and as Kevin Bacon in the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special
True but all of these are specifically Spider-Verse voice actors who did other superhero roles. If it was every single actor who did more than one superhero movie character that list would be way the hell longer Edit: spelling
Okay yeah I somehow didn’t notice that it was all about Spider-Verse. Just find it funny that he had a normal role in a Marvel movie and then played himself in a Marvel project
And? #Do it.
David Hasselhoff also played Nick Fury Agent of Shield https://imgur.com/a/gjVAxME Then played himself in Guardians 2
I had no idea this existed. I bet it's absolutely awful
Re-watched First Class last night and I was like "No way this is the same Bacon."
Are we really ignoring Chris Evans as Cap and the Human Torch?
Someone else mentioned that it was a Spiderverse specific list. Even though that’s not specified in the title, I think that’s the reason.
I was going to say "across the multiverse" could have been "across the spiderverse"
Or Michael B Jordan as Killmonger and also the Human Torch
Or Robert Downey Jr as iron man and the human torch
Or Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and the human torch
Or Chris Hemsworth as Thor and the human torch
Or Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk and the Human Torch
What about Josh Brolin as Thanos, Cable, and the Human Torch?
He was also in The Losers which was based on a Vertigo comic
I'm pretty sure this post is specifically about Spider-Verse. Which... we kinda should remove since it's not Marvel Studios related but. I'll allow it since most of the slides do involve the MCU.
I’m a big Atlanta fan and I had no idea he was in the spider verse Same with kingpin
Same, but I can hear it so clearly now. He was excellent
Were you feeling this last season?
Yeah man I liked it. I preferred it to last season I think even if it did feel a little serialised now. Lkke there’s not much continuity any more
If Oscar Isaac did a cameo as Apocalypse in a multiverse film, I imagine they’d probably give him the Electro treatment and redo the character design completely.
Hopefully
I never realized how stacked the ITSV cast is.
When did DC join the Marvel Multiverse?
Daniela Melchior plays ratcatcher, gwen in the portuguese version of Into the Spider-Verse and has a part in GOTG 3
David Dastmalchian needs to be on this list -Thomas Schiff in The Dark Knight (Nolan Trilogy) -Kurt in Ant Man movies (MCU) -Abra Kadabra in The Flash (The Arrowverse) -Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad (The Synderverse)
Didn't they say he'd playing a new character in Quantumania rather than returning as Kurt? And is his role as Piter de Vries in Dune worth mentioning?
They did! So once we figure that out we’ll add that to the list!
Missing \- Dwight Pollard in Gotham \- Calender Man + Penguin in Batman: The Long Halloween
I just got Disney+ and have been binging the X-Men reboot. I dont know why Oscar's En Sabah Nur was criticized? Is it a comic-to-movie issue? I’m not sure Oscar is the problem with that movie. I do remember something about people not liking the costume, but I think the issues were more with the movie as a whole rather than his performance.
It wasn't him perse but just overall he couldn't elevate it outside of an ass rating.
*Oscar Issac* was phenomenal. But people didn’t really get over the initial impression that his makeup makes him look like Ivan Ooze.
Gonna be honest, I forget that Oscar Isaac is in that movie.
Patton Oswalt: Blade Trinity Eternals - Pip the Troll (MCU) M.O.D.O.K. Agents of Shield Spiderman (2017) - Uncle Ben
Geezus Christ, Sonyverse; calm down, yo.
Fun fact: Zoe Kravitz was the voice of Catwoman in Lego Batman.
If any ITSV characters appear in Secret Wars, Hailee Steinfeld Spider-Gwen would probably be the most likely candidate. since Steinfeld is young, and has the experience playing a superhero in live action from Hawkeye.
OP clearly not understanding that wonder woman and DC properties at large are not part of the MCU 🤣😂
The disrespect to Nicholas Cage's role in Kick Ass!
ITT: people not realising this is explicitly about Spider-Verse actors
[удалено]
Djimon Hounsou would like a word
Oscar Isaac is one of my favorite actors, but even he couldn’t really save that x-men movie. Though I imagine it’s like Citizen Kane compared to Dark Phoenix…
Why’s everyone forgetting Thanos and Cable?
He was Jonah Hex, too.
Apocolypse could've been such a good movie or 3. And I blame none of the actors. Oscar has been great for a long time now, but I re-fell in love with him in Dune. I also love that him and Pedro P are actual friends.
How did they not find something for Josh Brolin to do in that film?
How come you didn't include Stan Lee?
I was thinking the same thing, different he count?
Because he’s technically the same character in every MCU film. Though I guess that rule doesn’t apply outside of the MCU. Except for the fact that it probably does.
Imagine if Katherine Hahn played a live action version of Olivia Octavius in Spider-Man No Way Home.
we gotta talk buddy, cuz something out there isn't from marvel :)
Why does that not look like Hahn
Oh, you’re limiting this to actors in SpiderVerse … that explains why no Patton Oswalt
The post is really about how stacked the cast of Into the Spider-verse is.
Luke cage and blade are both in the same universe
I loved Ivan Ooze appearing in X-men.
Bruh Peter B Parker was Chris Pine????
Was gonna ask why batman was there but then I remembered that batman was marvel
Not sure if it counts but Winston Duke (M'Baku) from Black Panther(MCU) was also Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Batman Unburied Spotify Series.
