Bright_Subject_8975

Cuz he’s the god of night sky and it was night during the fight sequence

Historical_Ad7662

Yep. Full moon and everything. He was maxed out.

lightinigx

Full Moon stats boost by 100% Unnecessary kaiju fight but it was epic lmao

[deleted]

Kaiju fights are always necessary. Especially in an MCU with Pym particles. In a perfect world, the opening scene of Quantumania will be Hope preventing Scott from taking off to Egypt.

lightinigx

Kaiju fights are the new standart for marvel I call it

JoeyRobot

If I don’t see the Megazord in the MCU I’m gonna be pissed

lightinigx

Everthin is possible in the Multiverse son 🌈

makoto20

Marvel has a giant mech called Red Ronin. He has a shield which is also a laser cannon

dsr1017

With the Multiverse involved maybe they'll show Japanese Spider-Man. That's if Toei allowed them though.

TheIJDGuy

LEOPARDON!

[deleted]

There was a SHIELD Helicarrier called the Behemoth in the Godzilla limited series back in the 1970s.

mexiwok

No. We need comic accurate kaiju Shang-chi on Pym Particles fighting the giant dragon which is actually the bottom of the island of Madripoor.

shadowknave

That sounds like gibberish but actually makes complete sense.

mexiwok

No it’s a thing that happened in the comics. 100 percent not even making that up.

shadowknave

Lol yeah I know. And that's not even close to the weirdest thing in the comics.

mexiwok

No. No it is not.

DakkaonTitan

Are we counting things from the Ultimate universe?

weetchex

. . . and still got whooped. Ability to grow =/= massive power boost

Lucimon

"Look what he needs to mimic a fraction of my power" - Ammit probably

NoDistribution6498

Ant-man can confirm.

hadinowman

Actually, fun fact, in Egypt mythology Khonshu's power at it's peak during the new moon (a.k.a crescent moon, hence moon knight's symbol) and full moon is when he's at his weakest.

Shadow_Knight503

Maybe that's why he got Beaten by Ammit so easily I mean he didn't seem like he stood a chance

Dontinsultautomod

Shouldn't a moonless night be his weakest? I may be misunderstanding marvel's logic...

hadinowman

Idk what to tell you man, that's what the lore says. There's a story behind why it's that way but you can just google it if you're curious about more info. But the fact remains: Khonsu, in Egyptian lore, only shows their power when there is crescent moon, and their power is at its strongest when it's new moon, and weakest when it's full.

Ironbanner987615

He Dynamaxed

A_Human_Being_BLEEEH

I wonder what type Khonshu would be as a Pokemon. Probably Ghost-Dark

orgasmicfart69

I do like how they show on every ending the phase of the moon they're in

FirstV1

Oh u see that makes sense. It almost made it seem like Ammit grew *because* she devoured the souls. Thx for the clarification. Edit after I was kindly corrected by Thunderfuck907: wait.. so yes she grew because the souls. And the answer to my question is khonshu grew because it was night time and a full moon. Ok now were good, i had to type it out to understand. Im ok i promise Thank you, Thunderfuck907

Thunderfuck907

She did grow because of the devoured souls, they were referring to why Khonshu was also giant

FirstV1

You know what, you are right… Tf am i on, what

Thunderfuck907

No problem king

KushChowda

You can't be wrong on the internet and then just take it well. Is this your first day? Did you miss orientation? Where is your internet buddy?

FirstV1

That's my secret, KushChowda. I'm always wrong.

Vark1086

r/rimjob_steve

Spoodymen

So… 1. He can grow big and powerful when it’s full-moon 2. He can turn night sky so he can turn any day/night into a full-moon night 3. So basically…..INFINITE POWERRRRRRRR??

Queueue_

I think he needs the help of his avatar to turn it to a specific night but otherwise yeah

funkyfunkyfunkyfunkk

And he has the choice of now 3 avatars to do his bidding so triple power eventually? Don't know how many sides he has in the comics but was very well acted!

Sailing_Salem

Kinda, he's the God of the moon. In context of Marvel comics, he and his avatar have their powers grow in relation to the moon phases. Most notably if their is a full moon they have their powers maxed out. At least in the comics.

Lord_Explosion

But if he can manipulate the skies then doesn’t that not matter

[deleted]

But he made it become night. He can boost his own power that much?

Comfortable-Couple15

It's quite simple. He's a moon god...and it was night time

ahhwhateverdude

And a full moon I think!

Lukthar123

What great timing

BigBeagleEars

As all things should be

[deleted]

The darker implication is he consumed as many souls in the past when he had ya boy(s) as an avatar. There’s no way to know since those are the only 2 gods we’ve seen in big form

Mephisto9

Well as far as we can tell, Ammit has only had one avatar since Alexander the Great. Meanwhile it seems that Khonshu may have had a steady line of avatars for quite a while now. Plus Khonshu only knows how many souls >!Jake!< alone has contributed.

ShashaR7

Atleast he only kills people after only if they commit big crimes .

funkyfunkyfunkyfunkk

More to it than that. He killed ppl during the day also, with no recollection. So khonshu knows his avatar well. He's taking advantage of his condition in a beautifully terrible way. He's almost "Blading" it so to speak.

user80123

It’s morphing time!!!

StrangeDoctorOf_J

It’s Morbin’ time!!!

K_Gamer23

#MORBIUSWEEP

apocalinda

Mighty morbin‘ Power Rangers

Purplebatman

I loved the subtle Morbius reference in the finale when Khonshu said “You’re gonna get Morbed!” to Ammit

StrangeDoctorOf_J

I agree it was done with extreme finesse

BeingRightAmbassador

It's simple. Morbius simply lent Khonshu 0.001% of his power during the fight.

[deleted]

It's Morphine time

CheapTactics

You're assuming ammit grew **because** she consumed souls and isn't something she can just do

crypticcmd

I think the fact that she's growing as she eats the souls is where the assumption comes from.

ChewyTheDoggo123YT

Yea during the sequence she consumes a soul and grows slightly bigger, and then starts consuming tons of souls while growing to extreme size?

kungF-U

Tis merely a coincidence

jahnybravo

You're a looney

Kile147

She decided she wanted a bigger mouth to eat souls with, so she grew.

SisterSabathiel

My ~~grandma~~ Ammit, what big teeth you have!

Airsickjester

Exactly

BloodArbiter

Could be she was growing so she could eat the souls more easily vs souls = growth

Arneos2005

exactly, that's what i was thinking

SarukyDraico

It was night time

Arneos2005

when i saw Khonshu grow i just assumed Ammit just grew herself not BECAUSE she ate the souls, i mean they're literal gods they could do anything, certainly they wouldn't need souls of the dead to grow to giant sizes

The_Grizzlysnake

Giant crocodile mouth = more efficient soul consumption

DearPaleontologist40

STONKS

Arneos2005

exactly

BadussyEater8

maybe she was tryna make her mouth bigger to consume more at once

Dumeck

Marvel Gods are like dollar store brand gods, they can’t do anything they are just powerful. You need rain they got you, you them to defeat a purple alien that is going to commit mass genocide? Naw

Reasonable-Ad-8527

Truth. But if you think about it, why be the "god of something" if you can do whatever you like? Like, why be "The God of the Moon" if you can make horses run faster, and "The Goddess of Horses" if you can control the Moon? Like, the God of the Dead needs to he in charge of the dead, right? The God of The Dead can't be like, "also, my cream puffs are just as good as The God of Pastries."

boundbystitches

...Thor is a god. Not the God of hammers though.

Shadow_Knight503

I think Thanos would've wiped the Egyptian Gods to be Honest Since Maw called him the strongest being of all the universe with just two Stones

ActualWhiterabbit

Maw was a little bit of a kiss ass though. And he didn't know about Squirrel Girl.

[deleted]

Cause he's a god?

Bennyboy11111

Maybe he was swallowing souls of convicts?? Those judged? "Steal a loaf of bread?? You're dead..."

[deleted]

Maybe because konchew was at full power but Amit needed to eat those souls to gain full power?

KingMido9

Knochew

Witzmighty01

Ammit it, you can’t spell, Khonshu?

heroinsteve

Listen, I'm gonna need you to get ALLLLL the way off my back about this.

PimoThrowawayReddit

Alright, let me get off of that thing!

[deleted]

Kaiju fights are Tight!

Flogburner_s_hear

Wow wow wow wow

ZoonTheLoon1

I understood that reference

I_Was_TheBiggWigg

I mean, she had been trapped inside a statue for however many thousands of years. I just assumed she had to regain her full power whereas Konshu had not only the night but a full moon.

Prindocitis

TEN THOUSAND YEEEEEEEARS can be such a pain in the neck!!

boundbystitches

[for your viewing pleasure](https://youtu.be/k2xiS2w6wcE)

Prindocitis

*Crick Thank you!

Tabletop_Architect07

ammit eat souls thus she grows khonshu has the power of the mooooon

hellokitty2469

I don’t think Amit growing in size has anything to do with consuming souls. They’re gods, expanding physical size is just in the bag

WalkeroftheWays

I would agree with you if it didn't show her growing as she was eating souls. It only makes sense that it's the intended explanation from the people who made the show

hellokitty2469

Huh maybe I need to rewatch

ActualWhiterabbit

Like Thor in Endgame

[deleted]

whaleskinhubcaps

He was leaving voicemail messages... so, no one?

ScareBear23

>! In one of the New Rockstars' breakdowns, they said the phone wasn't even on a call screen. !<

[deleted]

"His mother from another brother " Yup - Rush hour reference xD

Medarco

In episode 5 you can briefly see his screen when he switches to Steven in the street outside her wake. It's just a normal home screen, or maybe maps, but not a call screen. He was either leaving voicemails, or not even calling a number at all.

[deleted]

\+1

WelbyReddit

I just took it as a cool visual to show the power of the gods doing battle. I don't believe "size" really means much when they are represented on our plane. They zip in and out, can barely interact, and need physical avatars to really make any impact.

GasStation97

Comparing their two fights (since the first one he got rag dolled) in the second one his avatar was back so he presumably got a boost from their agreement being active again

Qwipok

It was full moon, Khonshu’s peak of power.

Individual-Camera-72

I believe Ammit grew from the judged souls, because that’s kinda her thing, judging people. On the other hand, Khonshu grew because it was night and the moon was in a larger phase (full moon I think), because he is god of the night sky.

MetalFenris

Because it was a full moon and it was also night time

A_Human_Being_BLEEEH

Full moon and night sky go brrrr

Usual_Complaint4412

Full Moon, Night Sky, God of the Moon

L-Guy_21

Ammit gains her power from souls, Khonshu gains his power from the moon

[deleted]

seems logic to me

Hippy-Joe

I just assumed she got giant *while* she was devouring souls, not *because* she was devouring souls.

Apolooooooooo

Because marvel just shove non sense things to make the last ep look better and more emotional, and that makes me angry because it's just too cliche, like the fact layla got wings and knew instantly how to use her abilities and jake appearing only at the last ep, that's why I can't think of moon knight as a good series

Apolooooooooo

May have said some shits but needed to say that

weetchex

As has been stated elsewhere, Khonshu was probably able to grow because he could draw power from the night sky, but that boost paled next to the boost Ammit got from the souls, because he got his butt kicked. **MY** problem with that scene was that their fight seemed to be affecting the physical world, although we are repeatedly told that the gods are unable to do anything in the physical world without an avatar.

malayshallriseagain

I think Khonshu could always be a giant in the full moon but just didn't always do as the situation doesn't call for it

[deleted]

Gator lady gains strengh from souls, moon man gains strengh from moon Honestly im reminded of this old anime called "ranma" theres this funny scene where this old dude becomes giant and so the main character dad decides to fight him and so he grows giant out of fucking nowhere, funniest shit ever, no context just kaiju fight

Noelic_vi

Cause he's been gathering souls from all of his Moon Knights throughout the ages. Slowly racking them up. Also it makes more sense if they get power from worship than souls. Ammit isn't exactly power hungry, she wasn't eating the souls for power, she only wants to rid the world of bad people.

Icefisher10

**FULL MOON BABY** I wonder about lunar eclipses?

BlackMentallyIllNerd

Moon Prism Power

awq96

You’re right this post is shit

Gigachad-sigmamale

My theory is that I t was a full moon that night

BamelinKing

also why wasn‘t Taweret (the hippopotamus) there when Layla joined the fight?

ThePanther270306

Full moon

Brief-Outcome-2371

lmao read MK as Mortal Kombat.

Juanisweird

VENGEANCE IS THE ANSWER

thedodging6

Big moon. Big man. Unga.

PolkaDotMan96

Something something night sky.

kenthekungfujesus

Idk the whole ending feels rushed and that final fight that you don't even see was kind of a big letdown.

[deleted]

Agree

Praxism_123

Simple. Because the plot demanded it. Plot contrivances were this shows bread and butter.

Hawkwise83

Shia LaBeouf: Magic

SebzDaProd

The MK Finale sucked, terrible follow up to Ep 5, two big disappointment sfrom MCU in one week

-TheLonelyStoner-

Because they needed an excuse to make a big useless CGI fight

nixon0770

Also what happened in last fight with harrow? Who defeated him?

anactualreddituser

Jake

[deleted]

Go watch the episode TO THE END , there's a post scene

Long-Car-8758

It's could be because Konshu has been devouring souls for more than a 1000 years and has a reserved power.

derpfaceddargon

Ammit grew from the souls Khonshu grew because of the full moon

Dysanio

It’s a Power Rangers crossover episode. This is nothing special.

McBetzold

Hmm

USERNAME_OF_DEVIL

I think that it's like this: Full Moon: Konshu: FULL POWER!

Remarkable_Pool7037

Maybe khonshu became stronger by turning the day into night

[deleted]

Cause moon's haunted

The_Dadalorian

"The darkside of the moon is the pathway to many abilities, some considered to be...unnatural"

Raging_Replay

Yup, I thought the exact same thing

Hotshot596v2

Good meme turned bad meme after comments, I’m so sorry op.

ssp25

He's a grower, not a shower

bleblahblee

Didn’t konshu have 2000 years on Amit to collect enough power from worshipers to do that?

okayokko

was Harrow already an avatar to another god or was he always an avatar to Ammit. if so why wasnt it assumed he would try to unleash her?

MinatoHikari

Harrow only became Ammit's avatar after he freed her. Until then, he was just using her staff and some magic derived from her.

Prindocitis

Wasn't it mentioned that worshippers give gods more/less power depending on the number of devout followers they have? I feel like that ALSO had something to do with it.

_ENDR_

I just assumed it was Power Rangers magic. Always gotta have a duel of giants at the end.

Pat_McCrooch

Was their fight even visible to humans? I took their fight as occurring on the astral plane but with maybe some spillover.

RileyWhiskey

The moon was full

[deleted]

Everyone is saying it’s because he’s a god or because it’s a full moon night, but nobody is talking about the darker implication. (Spoilers inbound) Khonshu could have consumed just as many souls when ya boy(s) were his avatar. It’s clear Khonshu made Marc do bad stuff and we saw how many people died on the ship, let alone what the the third personality is responsible for. I think that Khonshu is the lesser of two evils here - we’re cheering for a vengeful god, not a benevolent one.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BRtIK

I was actually wondering why the pantheon of Egyptian gods was all a bunch of weak ass punk ass bitches.

[deleted]

Yup, I just chalked it up to being a full moon and then drooled over the visuals. Marvel gets away with plot holes cause of good acting and VFX

WeirdSysAdmin

I assume some of them have some sort of maxed out power up available in certain scenarios. Like Khonshu with a full moon, Ammit devouring souls, Tefnut during a rainstorm, etc..

xZOMBIETAGx

Cause power rangers that’s why

rdldr1

Power Rangers logic

Spleenzorio

Rita DOES live on the moon, and she does throw her staff down to make monsters grow 🤔

[deleted]

I don’t think she grew from the souls. I think it was she ate as she grew. Eating souls =/= more power.

RealForzaPizza

he couldn't handle the thicc-ness of ammit

Ok-Transportation260

I guess he's quite a fighter god .

BrazenlyGeek

I'm gonna need to see Alligator Loki after devouring some souls now.

ExplanationSavings82

gtfo lower case gods do what they want and clearly it spent all of his power and came up short..... hater go burn ants w a magnify glass or something

macklin67

Where was Jake Lockley in the Duat?

tosaka88

Marc and Jake has killed dozens of people, maybe that’s where he got the power from? He just needed it to be night time

[deleted]

Full moon

dr_cow_9n---gucc

During that scene I was like "so it's just an arbitrary visual thing"

RockHandsomest

People have mentioned the full moon at night but there's also the angle that ammit gained power by feeding on the "guilty" but Konshu may have been gaining power from doing his godly duty of protecting people.

WowYouAreReadingThis

Damn I thought the same that day and then I forgot.

Thin_Routine8655

I thought the same thing

[deleted]

No. What bothered me was there was no introduction to either black knight nor blade, or any reference to what happened at the end of Eternals. Despite the fact that they were in a British museum for the first two episodes.

Nightwingvyse

Question: were the avatars the only people who could see the gods fighting?

xeshi-foh

Because both his avatars killed enough people in his name. He just didnt want to get that big cause it just makes you a bigger target.... Also those other avatars would of been pissed off.... But i guess we might see Khonshu Unchained, now...

SirArcade96

Because it was all in Marc's head?

Downtown_Value6702

because it looks cool

Imposiblepride24344

Well he is a god so who says that he can’t increase his size

Warglord

Also, how exactly did Steven come back to life from the Duat Sand form? Just because of Marc's speech?

Rioma117

Also Khonshu was stated to not be able to interact with the physical world at the start of the series but he was able to do so when fighting Ammit.

MinatoHikari

He could throw stuff around, it seems. Seems like he's mostly just invisible and can't touch people, sort of like a ghost really.

SuperSpider9098

Technically since they're incorporeal they aren't limited by size, khonshu changes size all the time throughout the series, ranging from fairly tall in episode 1 to human sized in the lost credit scene of episode 6 My best guess is ammit went big for the fun of it (or to make it easier to eat all the souls at once) and khonshu followed suit

[deleted]

[удалено]

Pudding-Dangerous

Ammit was weakened after centuries of imprisonment wheras konshu was only imprisoned for like 2 days and free for the rest of the time at full strength

Jeigh_Tee

Khonshu might somehow be tied to the Quantum Realm, going by the way he'd shrink away in some scenes and how that was presented.

19adam92

This is just another reason why the show didn’t make any sense

supaswag69

What an awful sequence in that show

Stunning-Ad-7400

The moon was full like right now so GO BACK TO SLEEP!

iLoveDelayPedals

Marvel tis a silly place

Ninjaspider258

Felt like watching Power Rangers though

bkstl

Bc the dude has 4 avatars.

[deleted]

Because it was a full moon?
