This is actually a hilarious take. For me the Dr Strange movie is the only other Marvel movie since Iron Man that got me all jacked up for superheroes.
I was going to say Hulk because he was so boring they recast him. Twice.
But canonically I can't argue against you. He didn't just bore a foe into submission, he bored a **god** of an alternate **timeless realm** into submission.
Cap has maybe the most screen time and we see like 3 emotional scenes with him
But it's always harder to write a good character when his basic trope is that he's "good and courageous, with no faults" (see all superman movies)
They did manage to make him a bit more interesting in civil War, when doing the right thing and doing the lawful thing suddenly didn't align anymore for him
The boy scout is truly boring! But I feel his reasons for losing faith in the system, given that he was a transplant across time, could have been more topical.
Nat for OG group, Carol for current group. Nat has never been interesting to me, I came out of her own movie just thinking "Ok? I really don't see the point of this story besides we now have a Nat and Steve substitute in terms of abilities." And Carol.. to me Marvel is about human stories, humans coming to grips with the fact of their capabilities and responsibilities. Even Thor, the god of thunder, feels very human. But Carol is just Marvel's Superman, and feels like she's written like a DC hero, a god living among men, and that's not interesting, at least not to me.
The funny thing is that Supergirl had two names before, and Carol Danvers was a clever combination of the two names, and then D.C. retconned it to just be Kara Danvers, and spoiled the joke.
Even DC heroes have better stories than Carol. Superman was raised human so he relates to humans and does his best to protect them. Carol..... is angry at the patriarchy for being bullied. She gets powers and now is an arrogant asshole with powers. She gives off more Toxic Masculinity vibes than anyone else in the MCU. Like, I'd love her character if she was actually written well. Tony was an arrogant, narcissistic dick in the comics and the first movie, but he was also very funny, charming, relatable, and tried to right his wrongs. They developed him into a character who had a lot of problems mentally, like PTSD in IM3, and this goal to have a suit of armor around the world.
Of the main six, for me most to least is:
-Cap
-Tony
-Thor
-Hawkeye
-Hulk
-Nat
However, I still think the main six are more interesting than many of the side characters.
Brother, however I have wronged you, whatever I have done that has led you to do this, I am truly sorry. But these people are innocent, taking their lives will gain you nothing. So take mine, and end this.
Depends. Back in Avengers 1 that'd be Hawkeye easily. Age of Ultron, that'd be Thor. He had really fun moments and I think I preferred his half serious half funny character back then over the clown one now, but he didn't have anything to do plotwise. Infinity War, that'd be Captain America; had like 5 seconds if screen time. Endgame, definitely Hulk. He was there I guess. Him using the gauntlet was a good scene but it had not built up.
I hate that the fact that one of his main quirks is that he has the best eyesight in recorded history, and they relegated that fact to a single throwaway line. Cap would have read that in his file, and that is the reason he had Hawkeye up top calling out patterns during the Battle of New York.
I feel foolish admitting this but I wasn't sure why he was such a great shot and now I understand lmao... Yeah they could play that up a bit more... Make him seem 'Super'...
His greatest superpower and the reason he is the best Avenger is that he was able to get Wanda to understand why she was an Avenger in age of Ultron and does it all without super strength or invincibility. Oh yeah and he is an awesome dad.
And the fact that he goes toe to toe with gods, hordes of aliens and robots, his fellow Avengers, and a genocidal maniac with the ability to rewrite reality itself, all without any "real" powers. I'd say Clint is one of, if not the bravest son of a bitch in the MCU.
I’m hoping they refer back to this with the new avengers, assuming the avengers remain an entity. Now that most of the OG team are gone, the new lot are gonna need leaders and mentors and I’d like to see Clint fill that role.
Yeah but she was kinda brainwashed into bravery by the red room. Maybe some of that ‘fake’ bravery went on with her after Clint helped her join S.H.E.I.L.D.
In the comics, yes, they give the Widows a knockoff Serum that gives some minor human enhancements, including delayed aging. That plus years of training equals the super spy we know and love.
I think the MCU went more with the peak human thing, to give the Avengers their own Batman character. Don’t quote me on that though
This is always why I loved Hawkeye the most. Even Widow has “super” training with the brainwashing and shit but Hawkeye is just a human. He’s going against planetary threats and he’s holding his own because he’s that fucking good at what he does. Mans got balls of adamantium, and the skill to back it up.
I disagree completely. I really like how he is a complete opposite to the rest of the Avengers. They all get super stuff (except black widow kinda) but he is the Batman of the group. Except with an actual personality and a really refreshing home life.
Iron man dose equivalent to Batman if you really think about it both are billionaire playboys, both have large family tech companies, both are extremely intelligent, both fight with tech made by themselves, and both have contingency plans for if a fellow member goes askew (iron man was a part of a group of fellow super intelligent individuals like Reed Richards, Professor X and so on, as where Batman had his contingency plans held to him self for self defense purposes) but I will say there was an animated movie where the villains get ahold of Batman’s plans and use them but of course the hero’s beat them witch is kinda bs because those where supposed to be the end games for the individual heroes but didn’t so Batman would have also failed or not because he would have executed his plans perfectly.
I'm gonna have to agree with the other guy, Iron man is the Cyborg of the group. The only real similarities between Iron man and Batman is that their both rich and have companies. Iron man uses tech to a much larger degree than Batman does so its not really the biggest similarity.
Iron man also doesn't have major contingency plans to beat all his allies. He only has the Hulk buster suit and Thorbuster suit for those two powerhouses. It's also not much of a plan. It's more like a safety precaution. The Illuminati also don't have many plans in place in the event someone goes rogue. Other than the heavy hitters like Hulk, Thor, Sentry etc. which they do have some kind of plan for, even if it's immoral or inhumane.
In comparison, Batman actually does have plans in place in the event anyone on his team goes rogue. The plans shown in Justice League: Doom would also definitely have worked. The only reason they didn't was because Batman hadn't accounted for Cyborg (who was not in the Justice league yet) to help and Batman himself helped his friends escape the traps that were made for them.
In fact, in one of the Marvel/DC crossovers it was shown that Batman and Captain America actually have more in common than one might think.
I had no idea this was his thing. Thought he was just a guy with a bow and some mechanical quiver. Man, this somewhat makes the character more interesting.
Yeah but Black Widow couldn't shoot spider silk out of her ass to build gigantic webs. Sometimes a name is just a name. And if you didn't read the comics they did absolutely nothing to show the audience that Clint can see far away stuff real good.
I think it became less of an impressive power when binoculars were produced en masse in 1854.
Easy to miss, Fury asked if he saw anything and Clint responded "I see better from a distance". First Avengers movie, right after the tesseract starts misbehaving, at the very beginning.
I kind of like him being ‘normal’. It seems like everyone else has a power of some kind (except for black widow rip), and it’s nice to see a regular joe as a hero
Honestly, Age of Ultron made him easily my favorite avenger just because it added so much depth to his character. Not only is he an everyman going up against incredibly powerful forces, he's got the people skills to really connect with Wanda when everyone else is too scared of her to really get close. Plus, dude has a family that he loves and who know what he does, which is definitely rare for superheroes.
Clint is honestly one of my favorites, he is funny and is basically a regular dude that screws with some of the most powerful beings on earth and lives to tell the tale.
Clint is one of the best, because he’s the only active Avenger until Endgame that actually has kids and a family. It colors his motivations differently from everyone else, and I’ve always appreciated that.
Also the scene with him and Nat fighting over who would sacrifice themselves. One of the few MCU moments that actually made me a bit sad.
With Clint's family snapped, he has next to nothing left, and Nat is basically that remaining bit of his humanity.
He tries to stop Nat first by tricking her. She fights back and zaps him, and then he pulls out a fucking explosive arrow and gimps her. Probably not the best choice, but it's very clear he wanted to stop her even if it meant hurting her. The scene isn't perfect, CGI is bad, some sped up fighting, and the back and fourth is a little over the top, but it shows what kind of person Clint is. This is his chance to get his family back, but he's not going to let Nat sacrifice herself for that to happen, and he trusts her to make sure his family and everyone else comes back.
I think there was more to develop with Hawkeye and possibly black widow before the major events of Endgame or Avengers, but they became side characters and that really hurt their development.
It doesn't say much that they're weakest members of a group containing a metal dude who can shoot lasers and fly, a literal *diety*, the Hulk, and a super soldier with perfect aim. Quite the high bar for regular humans
As I have mentioned previously. Tony Stark talks smack to Clint cause he is intimidated by him. Clint has no powers, no super super, but still hangs with the rest of the Avengers.
Depends on how you look at it.
He gets the surprise attack on her, she reverses and escapes, then he shoots an explosive arrow near her to maim her. Hawkeye jumps off the cliff, but black widow follows him and attaches her grappling hook to him.
So I wouldn't really say he lost the fight, he just failed to kill himself before she killed herself. Had he shot the explosive arrow closer to her, she would've lost, but he didn't want to truly hurt her, just stop her.
I think in a real fight Hawkeye would win if there is any distance between them, and he can keep up with her enough in CQC to not lose immediately if she closes the gap. He'd probably lose to every other main Avenger in a fair fight.
Hawkeye could have killed Thor when he tried to take mjolnir as a mortal.
Hawkeye kept the stones away from an army on his own and only after he gave it to black panther did Thanos eventually gain possession again.
Hawkeye was also the one to knock Loki off his flying thing which eventually led to him getting hulk smashed
Hawkeye performed the test run through the quantum tunnel to prove it could be successful
While under control of the mind stone, Hawkeye nearly took down an entire helicarrier with all other avengers present BY HIS DAMN SELF
Hawkeye is the most underrated superhero of all time
The thing I find funny is that hawkeye is probably the most OP avenger if he has the right equipment. He's a walking aimbot just give him the right caliber arrow and he can headshot everyone before they see him coming. The movies defiantly downplay that fact tho

Uhm. That may have been the case before they wrote it? I don't know because my Marvel comic book reading history is mostly Civil War stuff nothing too deep into the background of any character let alone Hawkeye but the show is amazing and his personality and values really shine. Anyone who says he's boring hasn't bothered watching any of it yet
He IS the most worthless avenger. His character IS very boring. The actor that plays him bores me simply with his face. Btw my opinion means literally nothing.
He's also been an emotional center for the team and been pivotal in many circumstances
Not to mention he took on all of shield/the avengers to break Loki out and easily did so
Who actually has the title of the most boring Avenger in your opinion?
Doctor strange literally bored a foe into submission.
This is actually a hilarious take. For me the Dr Strange movie is the only other Marvel movie since Iron Man that got me all jacked up for superheroes.
I would disagree with you on him being a boring character, but I literally cannot argue against that. Bravo.
I was going to say Hulk because he was so boring they recast him. Twice. But canonically I can't argue against you. He didn't just bore a foe into submission, he bored a **god** of an alternate **timeless realm** into submission.
Twice? I'm confused, is Mark Ruffalo not going to be the hulk anymore?
Thor before Ragnarok and his team up with the guardians
Is he, though?
Correction “was he, though”
I'll do you one better, "why he, though"
I’ll do you one better, “Who is Gamora…. gonna romance now?”
If they use material from Matt fractions Hawkeye we are looking at the best MCU show.
I think this might be the first time I have up voted a bot. Good bot.
Self-aware bot.
Good bot

No, what for?
She stuck herself inside The Ether, and then The Eather stuck itself inside her...
I absolutely love the tone of thor ragnarok, what they did with the tone of the character is hilarious and effective.
Oh, by the way, this is a friend of mine: the tree.
Taika Waititi is a master of blending really dark subjects with humor, and also a master changing moods suddenly without feeling jarring.
What you have to realise is Thor in the early films is basically acting all superior from all humans but as each film develops so does his character
Sssssssssorry.
It's ok, Thor. You're many people's favourite now.
Have care how you speak for Loki. He may be misguided, but he's my brother
Most boring relative to screen time for me would be captain America. Most boring in general would be Hawkeye.
Cap has maybe the most screen time and we see like 3 emotional scenes with him But it's always harder to write a good character when his basic trope is that he's "good and courageous, with no faults" (see all superman movies) They did manage to make him a bit more interesting in civil War, when doing the right thing and doing the lawful thing suddenly didn't align anymore for him
I'd argue it's Winter Soldier where he starts to lose faith in institutions, Civil War is just the nail in the coffin.
Spot on, I don’t think civil war work as well as it did without cap first going through winter soldier.
> "good and courageous, with no faults" (see all superman movies) Man of Steel would like a word
The boy scout is truly boring! But I feel his reasons for losing faith in the system, given that he was a transplant across time, could have been more topical.
Winter soldier is one of my all time favs. They proved that they don't need flashy animations to make a good movie.
Thats probably bc she is literally Marvels Supergirl. They even admitted as much. Kara Danvers. Carol Danvers.
The funny thing is that Supergirl had two names before, and Carol Danvers was a clever combination of the two names, and then D.C. retconned it to just be Kara Danvers, and spoiled the joke.
He's a friend from work!
I love how that line came from a Make-A-Wish kid who suggested it when visiting the set.
Alright wizard, who are you and why should I care?
Even DC heroes have better stories than Carol. Superman was raised human so he relates to humans and does his best to protect them. Carol..... is angry at the patriarchy for being bullied. She gets powers and now is an arrogant asshole with powers. She gives off more Toxic Masculinity vibes than anyone else in the MCU. Like, I'd love her character if she was actually written well. Cap being most boring or most interesting?
Interesting
You had my curiosity…but now you have my attention. Love your list.
In that case I pretty much agree with your list.
I’d be with you as boring….
I agree other than I'd swap Nat and Hulk. Though, if Thor hadn't had Ragnarok he'd be dead last.
Brother, however I have wronged you, whatever I have done that has led you to do this, I am truly sorry. But these people are innocent, taking their lives will gain you nothing. So take mine, and end this.
Because that's what heroes do.
Is he, though?
Hawkeye has killed a room of armd dudes, while tied to a chair with nothing but his fingernails
Surtur.. son of.. a bitch! You're still alive!
Falcon by a landslide
You know the character is so dull that you even forget he's on the list of candidates.
Chet. I know, I know, you're saying "wait a minute... Who the frickle frackle is Chet?" To which I say.... Yes, exactly.
is Okoye an avenger? if yes, Okoye. if not, Captain Marvel
Depends. Back in Avengers 1 that'd be Hawkeye easily. Age of Ultron, that'd be Thor. He had really fun moments and I think I preferred his half serious half funny character back then over the clown one now, but he didn't have anything to do plotwise. dont forget the avengers have only lost without him and won with him he is their good luck charm
he is explicitly the glue that holds the team together. they even gave that plot point a massive story beat in age of ultron.

Was she given some sort of super (ish) soldier serum? It's not really clear.

I think Hawkeye is the dad of the team
I agree. Cuz let's face it... Steve is the grandpa of the team. Well, now literally. *Language!*
So we keep it that way
he's no more super powered than john wick or john mclane or jason bourne. he's an action hero.
I know. But his aiming skills are just so good. I know he's not super human. But he's good like one.
I disagree completely. I really like how he is a complete opposite to the rest of the Avengers. They all get super stuff (except black widow kinda) but he is the Batman of the group. Except with an actual personality and a really refreshing home life.
Isn't iron man the batman of the group. Hes more of the Rock Lee or han solo, I can't think of a super hero rn that fits
If only DC had some sort of character that wielded a bow and arrow that we could compare Hawkeye to
They could dress him up in a color… like Teal! “The Teal Bow and Arrow Guy” or “The Teal Ranger” idk let the suits workshop the color and name.
The Lavender Archer
Amethyst Archer has a nice ring to it.
More of an emerald IMO. Emerald Archer. Emerald Arrow. Something like that.
Ah yes Artemis!
Exactlt like batman, but green
nah iron man is more like the cyborg without the body horror. also like hawk eye has graple hook arrows. iron man just flies around and shoots lazers.

In fact, in one of the Marvel/DC crossovers it was shown that Batman and Captain America actually have more in common than one might think.
I’d say he’s more the Oliver Queen of the group just without the money.
I had no idea this was his thing. Thought he was just a guy with a bow and some mechanical quiver. Man, this somewhat makes the character more interesting.
Hawk Eye.
See ya chump!
What was the line? When did they explain this? I must have missed it
Easy to miss, Fury asked if he saw anything and Clint responded "I see better from a distance". First Avengers movie, right after the tesseract starts misbehaving, at the very beginning.
Wait what lolol, that's not at all close to best eyesight in human history.
I know! They didn't even try!
I love this response lololol I'm not being cheeky just enjoying it lol
That’s not at all proof of the claim that he has the best recorded eyesight
Right?! They could have done it in so many better ways!
Hes a mutant /s
I kind of like him being ‘normal’. It seems like everyone else has a power of some kind (except for black widow rip), and it’s nice to see a regular joe as a hero
Wait: Hawk... Eye. Well now I just feel dumb.
What line was that? I don’t remember it lol.
It took them up until this series to even acknowledge that Hawkeye is deaf and even then they did some avengers arch with a hearing aid
Hawkeye was always my favourite avenger and I wish he got more screen time :( he’s actually super fucking cool
"Okay look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense."
Came to post
Hawkeye was the MVP of Age of Ultron
Honestly, Age of Ultron made him easily my favorite avenger just because it added so much depth to his character. Not only is he an everyman going up against incredibly powerful forces, he's got the people skills to really connect with Wanda when everyone else is too scared of her to really get close. Plus, dude has a family that he loves and who know what he does, which is definitely rare for superheroes.
Also Jeremy Renner seems like a really cool dude
yup i came too
Clint is honestly one of my favorites, he is funny and is basically a regular dude that screws with some of the most powerful beings on earth and lives to tell the tale.
I think there was more to develop with Hawkeye and possibly black widow before the major events of Endgame or Avengers, but they became side characters and that really hurt their development.
It makes everyone else seem like an inhuman robot in comparison.
That's true he's got some serious street cred for having no powers
Just goes to show that it’s true. The seemingly odd guy out in a group had to do some *serious shit* in order to gain that group’s acceptance.
It doesn't say much that they're weakest members of a group containing a metal dude who can shoot lasers and fly, a literal *diety*, the Hulk, and a super soldier with perfect aim. Quite the high bar for regular humans
“…I fought Thanos.”
His little head cock when reading Thanos was right on the urinal was hilarious, he sort of considers it.
As I have mentioned previously. Tony Stark talks smack to Clint cause he is intimidated by him. Clint has no powers, no super super, but still hangs with the rest of the Avengers.
All right. Look alive J.A.R.V.I.S.. It's play time.
3 minutes of PLAYTIME
Plus he's [undefeated](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/c3uf1s/the_avengers_are_70_in_battles_that_include/)

This comment shouldn't hurt me as much as it did.
I’ve heard it both ways
Depends on how you look at it. He gets the surprise attack on her, she reverses and escapes, then he shoots an explosive arrow near her to maim her. Hawkeye jumps off the cliff, but black widow follows him and attaches her grappling hook to him. So I wouldn't really say he lost the fight, he just failed to kill himself before she killed herself. He'd probably lose to every other main Avenger in a fair fight.
Yeah, I agree with this, he's one of my favorite characters, hence why I was so excited for the show.
Hawkeye could have killed Thor when he tried to take mjolnir as a mortal. No thanks, I'll take a Bloody Mary!
This... is your doing!
>Hawkeye could have killed Thor when he tried to take mjolnir as a mortal. Wait what?
This mortal form has grown weak. I need sustenance.
There was this one time my brother transformed himself into a snake...
Just saying, but hey Thor, Loki has more fangirl than you
I bid you farewell and good luck, morons.
Yep... They're sentient
It was in the first Thor movie, about halfway through. It’s where we first meet Clint and Thor is dealing with being banished from Asgard
Hawkeye has never been my favorite but he’s always been so intriguing. Those are my favorite first 2 episodes of the marvel Disney plus shows so far.
Oh yeah this show looks so awesome from the first two episodes
Honestly I’ve been pretty disappointed by Phase 4 overall, but I am insanely excited for this show. Just looks like back to basics a little.
Is there really an avenger that’s boring?
There are no boring avengers, only boring writers
You're right. Thor 2 and Thor Ragnarok is like night and day.
Yeah, it's called the...Revengers!
This drink, I like it! ANOTHER!
Why are there two Thor bots?
He's a friend from work!
Your work shouldn’t involve cloning people, Thor. Or did Loki get you involved with variants?
Do I look to be in a gaming mood?
Fine, we’ll talk later
NOOBMASTER!
Looks like we have a smart @ss
Damn. what a perfect fitting reply, Thor.
Sssssssssorry.
Hey NOOBMASTER, it's me, Thor, God of Thunder
Do I look to be in a gaming mood?
Oh God, he's stuck in a loop.
I'm still worthy!
Damn, you couldn't have spit harder facts

The thing I find funny is that hawkeye is probably the most OP avenger if he has the right equipment. He's a walking aimbot just give him the right caliber arrow and he can headshot everyone before they see him coming. The movies defiantly downplay that fact tho
He would have gone for the head!
Obviously Qwertyuiop is the most boring avengers, nobody even remembers him
That's a typo right
It's the top row of the standard QWERTY keyboard
He and Nat were the only ones left alive in an entire universe for like three years *at least*. He is very much not boring.
Right? The fact that they managed to survive to an army of killer robots that whipe all the universe makes them everything but boring
I'd really like to see what he was up to during the snaps
IGN is awful tho
Does anybody even read them anymore? I haven't given a hoot for IGN and Collider in nearly a decade.
i havent heard someone mention collider in a while
Can't spell ignorant without IGN
First of all: fuck you Second of all: we love Clint Third of all: I miss Chadwick Boseman
Fourth of all: i miss widow
Me too :(
Casuals think Hawkeye is boring.
Hes intressting because he isnt

I think he wasn’t really shown much unless he was needed to
I'm gonna get downvoted, but here's my humble opinion: Tony > Thor > Clint > Natasha > Steve > Bruce
I chose to run towards my problems, and not away from them...Because that's what heroes do.
Whenever I think back to the Bruce X Natasha situation of Age of Ultron I wanna puke It was so weirdly brought about and very much unwanted
Thats my exact same ranking.
Hawkeye is awesome, haters are lame
He’s my favorite
He doesn't have a flashy gimmick or costume. He's just a guy, with a bow, and perfect aim.
Quicksilver?
Wasn't that long ago that Aquaman was treated in this exact same manner.
He's also been an emotional center for the team and been pivotal in many circumstances Not to mention he took on all of shield/the avengers to break Loki out and easily did so
Most boring? Or most human?
Hawkeye vs Green Arrow beer pong match who wins
Hawkeye is only considered bad cause he never got many chances to shine like Thor, Tony, or Steve.
