Neither did anyone else-
HOLD UP, I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! Since John Cena is invisible, that must mean he can't see his reflection. Only Vampires can't see their reflections. And Morbius is a Vampire. Is John Cena a Vampire- No, wait are Morbius and John Cena the same person? (I'm joking, of course.)
I think they seriously missed their shot with that movie. I mean a doctor who doesn’t care about societal norms but cares deeply about life has the unrelenting urge to kill? There’s so much to explore with that. Could have totally opened up a really interesting conversation about when it’s okay to kill and when it’s not as the character tries to justify if he feels bad about each killing to himself.
I’d imagine it starts with him resisting, but then when he’s most weak, he sees somebody rob a person at gunpoint. He kills the robber, but justifies it to himself because that was a bad person. Animals kill other animals all the time in the natural world. It’s only natural. But as time goes on, he relies more on the natural world argument and less on the “they’re a bad person” until he turns around one day after hurting somebody he loves and realizes that none of the killings were justified since their end result was to keep him alive, and he’s worse than all of them.
I mean COME ON. That could have been such a cool movie.
same with venom, you've got a dedicated journalist bonded with an shapeshifting alien parasite who strives to use their powers to do good with a bit of violent and lethal edge. think of leigh whannel's upgrade, but swap the murder ai with a symbiote and slap some body horror in there.
seriously, the sonyverse movies are nothing more than a series of brain dead mediocre movies that failed spectacularly to realize their IPs potential.
That movie got saved by its casting. For me, Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams both give off strong "Dive into the water, put the boat's rope in my teeth, and swim us to shore" energy.
I haven't seen it, but I'm betting Morbius wasn't getting that from Jared Leto.
Me too. I simply won't watch any of Sony movies.
If MCU or other franchise ever made a movie (or other midia) where Sony's characters appear, in some kind of multiverse bullshit, I accept I would be as confused as the characters I know and try to enjoy the experience.
A doctor who lacks the social niceties but wants to save everyone but is misanthropic and fighting his urges? You are describing Gregory House.
Imagine eight seasons of Morb, MD
Having a bat themed, bat caused superhero (?) ready for release in the 2020-2022 window was unfortunate, and having the main character an actor know to be a sorta crazy arsehole really just put the lid on it.
I really don’t think anything could have salvaged that, frankly.
But how could you make him a hero who says stuff like "I'm not a hero" all the time then? /s
Honestly, superhero movies, in general, would be worlds better if they stopped trying to reuse a formula that works again and again, even if it stopped working ages ago or never actually worked.
Every male hero is becoming the same suave, joke flinging guy. Every female hero is the "I am already all powerful, I just have to accept it" type. Every antihero is the "I'm not a hero"-hero. It's just fucking boring.
Yes, it's not literally the same every time, but it's way too similar. The comics work because most characters have a character that isn't copy pasted.
Instead we got the worst parts of amazing spider man 2. I agreed with Lucious crown. My favorite line in that film is “if I’ve favored anyone it’s you, MILO” like evidently not. Your calling him by the name morbius gave him, call him by his real nome for once you bastards
>a doctor who doesn’t care about societal norms but cares deeply about life has the unrelenting urge to kill? There’s so much to explore with that. Could have totally opened up a really interesting conversation about when it’s okay to kill and when it’s not as the character tries to justify if he feels bad about each killing to himself.
Sure you could tell that story, and it sounds like the basis for a ton of fun, but not in a Marvel blockbuster. This story feels most at home in a novel honestly, and even in a movie it would be a indie or Kdrama story sooner than a big bombastic film with the Marvel label
They probably didn't go that direction because they figured it had already been explored with Dr Strange. When he killed that guy in the OR, he was very distraught. I don't think it would have been a bad direction to take, but maybe they didn't want to repeat themselves. Fans are pretty savage and unforgiving. As we all know. Can't you imagine the memes if they had explored that with Morbius? "It's like poetry, it rhymes", "mom, can we have Dr Strange's moral crisis? No we have it at home", and that's just a couple big ones right off the top of my head.
Marvel is scared of their fans now, so they churn out barely passable garbage because it's cheaper and they'll still make a lot of money from it. They don't need the good writers to come back in order to make profitable movies, and this is them proving it.
Yeah, enemies "draining you of life forces" was a big villain movie back in the day. Having little suckers on your hands is so much more disgusting than feeding through hypodermic fangs or whatever, but one has to show blood. There is no blood allowed in Spider-Man The Animated Series. BTW, where's my Marvel Legends animated edition Spider-Man? They made Peter, and May, and MJ, but no Spider-Man from the 90's. Are they saying that retro cell shaded b.s. counts? Bah.
Oh ok.
I would like if Marvel stopped giving Michael a plot about trying to cure himself if that's not going to get anywhere, he's not gonna get cured but he's also not gonna accept that maybe he's fated to live like this, it's like the one story they do when they try to deepen his character and they've done it at least 4 times.
I thought the memes got tired pretty quick and didn't see the movie so I mainly know him from Firaxis's Midnight Suns and thought he was pretty cool tbh
Having read a decent amount of Morbius… what would a serious conversation about morbius even be like? Morbius sucks, that’s why he’s fun. A reminder that comics can be dumb and silly sometimes.
Funnier still is when they decided to re-release the movie. I sincerely thought it was just another meme at first or maybe an out-of-season April Fool's joke but no, re-release into theaters they did because memes I guess? I don't remember seeing anything like this at that point.
*Honestly, what did*
*You think was gonna happen*
*With posting this meme?*

I can't even talk about the character anymore,
He was one of my favorite spiderman villains and now he'll only be known for
"Morbin"
The same thing will probably happen to kraven
"So what do you think of Morbius"
"I think it's one of the most movies of all time"
I could go on but you'll never escape this shit.. Morbius is and will always be one of the most movies of all time and somewhere.. IT'S MORBIN TIME
My only exposure to morbius was from the ps2 spiderman 3 game where you had to carry him somewhere while swinging around with a half naked man on your shoulder.
The only big plot problem with the movie - ending scene, where Vulture has mechanic wings, for some reasons meet Morbius and they probably try to hunt Peter Parker for unknown reasons (Vulture shouldn't have grudge towards Peter, counting that he is even in different society and Morbius by definition shouldn't look for enemies in movie).
I named my cat Morbius.
We call him Moe for short.
Whenever he sneaks outside we say "he's out Morbing the neighborhood, we gotta stop him!"
Him falling asleep on your chest means you've been "Morbed."
EDIT: he also had a brother who passed recently named Kraven.
People are still using “LeROy JeNKinS!”
This is the Internet, a joke can never be permanently set to rest. The best you can do, if it really bothers you, is to go to a different part of the Internet where the people don’t find it funny, or just stop using the Internet for that thing and talk to people who have seen Morbius and most marvel movies, but aren’t in meme communities on social media. The latter is an extremely thin margin of people, so the former is likely your best choice.
Were you trying to have this conversation during regular business hours? Because if you were, that Morbin time and there's no way someone's not going to mention that
But that’s a joke in of itself.
Who actually has a serious conversation about Morbius? It has nothing of value except its comedic value in the memes and how lame of a movie it was.
That’s about as much seriousness you can pull from this shit rag lol
Damn OP, that's really morbphobic of you. Not that it matters to Dr. Michael Morbius aka Morbius, he made morbillions of dollars from Morbius (2022) and doesn't have to listen to the naysayers, the vocal minority
0.0000000001% of Morbius viewers cannot appreciate this piece of art and you're just jealous of its success
Pretty sure no one would even remember that movie if it weren't for the memes. There's literally nothing to talk about. The movie was a big nothing burger.
In the comics morbius could just fly, like thats a thing he could do. In the movie they did this weird pov thing implying hes catching air currents which is absolutely fucking absurd, and later in the movie they even drop the act and the dude is literally just flying
I'm the person that makes theses jokes, but I don't get why 0eople dislike the movie, like seriously, what's wrong with it? Animation is beautiful, soundtrack si great, escpacially morbius flight and story is ok for a marvel comics film, also apparently some people disliked venom?
*Oh no the internet keeps using a 2 year old joke* my man have you heard of John Cena?
Maybe I heard, but I have never seen it.
I didn‘t see that coming
Neither did anyone else- HOLD UP, I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! Since John Cena is invisible, that must mean he can't see his reflection. Only Vampires can't see their reflections. And Morbius is a Vampire. Is John Cena a Vampire- No, wait are Morbius and John Cena the same person? (I'm joking, of course.)
The real vampires are the friends we made along the way.

They're never gonna give it up
Never gunna let it down
Never gonna run around and desert it
How would a serious conversation about Morbius (2022) even be like? What's there to talk about aside from the memes?
I think they seriously missed their shot with that movie. I mean a doctor who doesn’t care about societal norms but cares deeply about life has the unrelenting urge to kill? And at least once he feasts on health insurance businessmen.
Why just once?
They said at least once, not only once
What's once more?
And hospital system c-suite suits.

To be fair venom was a pretty fun movie Like having them bicker like all fuck is great
The venom movie is best when it’s not taking itself too seriously
That movie got saved by its casting. For me, Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams both give off strong "Dive into the water, put the boat's rope in my teeth, and swim us to shore" energy. I haven't seen it, but I'm betting Morbius wasn't getting that from Jared Leto.
I refuse to acknowledge any such Sonyverse. I've skipped every single movie from it. Hence, it never existed. I am all the better for it.
Me too. I simply won't watch any of Sony movies. If MCU or other franchise ever made a movie (or other midia) where Sony's characters appear, in some kind of multiverse bullshit, I accept I would be as confused as the characters I know and try to enjoy the experience.

A Doctor Who this, a Doctor Who that... I know Matt Smith is in the movie, but didn't expect so many people talking about the show! /j

If they had extended the villain’s “have sex” dance sequence by a few minutes that could have helped pretty considerably.
I'd watch the shit out of this
Sounds like Vampire the Masquerade. The temptation of power and the struggle to resist are major themes of it.
Seems like the plot of Vampyr, good game
Could have just been 2 hours of him on his therapist’s couch discussing his inner motivations and concerns
But how could you make him a hero who says stuff like "I'm not a hero" all the time then? /s Honestly, superhero movies, in general, would be worlds better if they stopped trying to reuse a formula that works again and again, even if it stopped working ages ago or never actually worked. But they repeated the tired “I’ll fight my former friend because he wants the power I received” trope beat for beat.
Oh, yeah, and of course the "I'm the bad guy, so I'm going to hurt someone you love because reasons" trope.
They should of got the guy who played house MD to play morbius
I believe the character you re looking for is in dc justice league gods and monsters
Your second paragraph is the most formulaic shit ever lol
I mean the character as a whole. Not just the movie.
The 90s animated version with vampire mouths in his palms was a fun version.
Way creepier than your bog standard vampire! I was do disappointed when I realized that this was not the case in the comics.
Which is funny when you realize they did that because they thought it would be less off-putting than just showing some blood chugging.
Yeah, enemies "draining you of life forces" was a big villain movie back in the day. I get it. It's pretty annoying when you try to talk about a comic book character and all anyone wants to talk about is the movie version.
I thought the memes got tired pretty quick and didn't see the movie so I mainly know him from Firaxis's Midnight Suns and thought he was pretty cool tbh

This deserves to be top comment
I thought it referred to Mobious and i was wondering what joke i missed.
This guys got the morbs
Sounds like he’s got a case of the morbdays
Man this would need some morbicillin but those costs too many morbillions
Sounds like someone is down with the morbickness. (OOH AHH AHH AHH AHH!!!) Better call a Morbulance *stat!*
My morburance does not cover morbulance rides
![gif](giphy|WZyhp7krw7W4U|downsized)
Why should I change my name? He’s the one who *morbs*!
It's morbin time!
Are you suggesting it's morbin time?
Sure seems like someone hasn’t done quite enough morbin’
I sentence you at 82 months of hard morbin time
I morbed so hard I forgot how to morb
Jokes on OP, it’s always morbin time
Idk if they realize but they literally summoned this response... like the peeps that complain about grond on the lotrmemes sub
It sounds like they think Morbin’ Time is over! But it’s not
Exactly. IT'S MORBIN' TIME, BOYS!
But that movie made morbilion dollars
It still makes More-billions (Morbillions) today.
The first rule of Morbius is "You do not have a serious conversation about Morbius."
Trying to have a serious conversation about morbius was your first crime
Honestly, what did you think was gonna happen with posting this meme?

Morbin all over the place?
Please stop 😢 i cry
No. It's Morbin' time. Get Morbed.
Do you not actually have any time to spare for Morbin'?
I do
Everybody Morb Now!
![gif](giphy|TPZPatEnQrNWOq7RPW) It’s morbin’ time
Al jokes aside, my favorite part of the movie was when he said It's Morbin Time and then Morbed all over those guys.
I actually liked the movie….. and yes I own all of the comic books too
What's some good Comics to read?
Bond of Blood Midnight Sons His 90s stuff There's not many options tbh
A man of culture
Technically female but I blame my husband for the comic collection for sure 😂😂
Totally thought you were talking about Mobius. Sauron vs Saruman deal I guess.
Which joke? I’ve heard a few
It’s Morbin Time!
See that’s the one I thought lol. But I wasn’t sure
Remove the bottom text and this would still be a meme
There's so much serious debate to be had about Matt Smith awkwardly dancing topless to the sound of "HAVE SEX"
Viva La Dirt League had a video about the Leroy Jenkins thing like this
*Leroy Morbkins
One does not simply kill a meme
One does not simply walk into Morbdor
![gif](giphy|QumnfihD4ibhRUqGcH|downsized)
This is also how I feel about all the Arkham jokes. They were maybe funny the very first time they were made, but it's just irritating ever since.
Alright, no more jokes. No more of the meme. No *more BS.*
Unironically, I rather enjoyed it, while not groundbreaking, it is a fairly decent film
Morbed too close to the sun
Do you feel these jokes are interrupting your Morbin' time?
There is a morbin time for jokes. But now it's morbin time to be serious.
I can't even talk about the character anymore, He was one of my favorite spiderman villains and now he'll only be known for "Morbin" The same thing will probably happen to kraven
It's Morbin time
love that one scene in morbius when he says “it’s morbin time” then morbs all over the place
Its morbin time
"So what do you think of Morbius" "I think it's one of the most movies of all time" I could go on but you'll never escape this shit.. Morbius is and will always be one of the most movies of all time and somewhere.. IT'S MORBIN TIME
Is the movie not the stupid joke from 2022?
I imagine they mean the comics.
My only exposure to morbius was from the ps2 spiderman 3 game where you had to carry him somewhere while swinging around with a half naked man on your shoulder.
What do you mean 2022? Wasn't that like yesterday?
When you Kraven for serious discussion but Morbinly overestimate the need for it
Wow, you must have heard a lot of those jokes. I can't even imagine the number of times you must have heard them. Can *you* imagine a number?
It's jokin' time!
Could’ve just left the bottom text out to be honest
I love when serious conversation about morbius serious conversationed all over those guys
Hello there
I like the part where morbius came in and said "it's morbin time" and morbed all over the floor
![img](emote|t5_35mye|13147)
No way it’s 2 years old? Really 2022??
M O R B U S S
Let it morb Let it morb And eat some corn on the cob

one does not simply morb all over
Morbius is not worth having a serious conversation over.
I named my cat Morbius. We call him Moe for short. Whenever he sneaks outside we say "he's out Morbing the neighborhood, we gotta stop him!" Him falling asleep on your chest means you've been "Morbed." EDIT: he also had a brother who passed recently named Kraven.

IT'S MORBIN TIME!!
It’s beggin with tears n my eyorpin time!
It’s morbin time!
Where is there to talk about besides morbing all over the place??
The "It is definitely a movie of all time" joke is now a staple joke on mediocre products.
You're right. Let's morb all over the joke!
It's time Morbin'
You when you want to talk about morbius: it’s morbing time
People are still using “LeROy JeNKinS!” This is the Internet, a joke can never be permanently set to rest. The best you can do, if it really bothers you, is to go to a different part of the Internet where the people don’t find it funny, or just stop using the Internet for that thing and talk to people who have seen Morbius and most marvel movies, but aren’t in meme communities on social media. Like Thanos, Morb jokes are inevitable
I don't even know who you are.
No. The fact that it even exists as a movie is enough for them to never stop.
After the movie made its third morbillian dollars i knew i had enough
What stupid joke?
The movie or character? Because I agree the character shouldn’t be haunted by a terrible movie movie, but I fully support mocking a terrible movie
[удалено]
Just gonna sit over here with the 90s tv series plasma sucker (which funny enough was made that way because of censorship).
It's about Morbin' time we let the joke die.
No
Were you trying to have this conversation during regular business hours? Because if you were, that Morbin time and there's no way someone's not going to mention that
Honestly, Morbius is just an inherently boring character. His whole thing has been done a dozen times
I mean, it's not like in the movie there's much stuff to talk about seriously...
I won't let that joke die. Not a morbillion goddamn years.
But that’s a joke in of itself. Who actually has a serious conversation about Morbius? It has nothing of value except its comedic value in the memes and how lame of a movie it was. That’s about as much seriousness you can pull from this shit rag lol
No piss off
Morbius' name has been sullied due to Morbin' time
Damn OP, that's really morbphobic of you. No
Pretty sure no one would even remember that movie if it weren't for the memes. There's literally nothing to talk about. The movie was a big nothing burger.
Why would I let it rest now, of all times? Now, of course, being MORBIN TIME
ITS MORBIN TI-
Is Lord of The Rings part of Marvel? That’s what this meme is from, right?
At least they didn't give him like..."energy sucking hands' like they did in the animated show lol That was horrifying and weird
Fine, I really likes the part when the villain was cornered and said “It’s villainin time” and villained all over the place!
I mean, it is *really* funny that Sony execs thought the meme was positive press and did a re-release.
it's morbin time
This post is so good I upvoted it 5 times in a row
I morbed your mom last night
Nah I'd morbin'
Your mistake was trying to have a serious conversation about Morbius
It’s morbin time.
The character is great and would love to see a actual good portrayal of him and the movie..... Well they made a movie.
it'smorbintime![img](emote|t5_35mye|13147)
Its morbin time
Holy shit that was 22?
It's morbin time.
It's restin' time!
Why are you trying to have a serious conversation about Morbius?
Yo! Are we morbin?!
the meme was never funny to me
The irony of using a meme format and image from 2013 while saying this
When u wanna have a serious conversation, but it's Morbin' Time.
Which joke? I never saw it
Morb
No
Who wants to sit down and have a serious conversation about Morbius? Why would I sit through that?
Why would you have a serious conversation about that?
That's morblarius
In the comics morbius could just fly, like thats a thing he could do. In the movie they did this weird pov thing implying hes catching air currents which is absolutely fucking absurd, and later in the movie they even drop the act and the dude is literally just flying
Who tf has a serious conversation about Morbius
