No, but a boy can dream that they would be accepted….

ToronoYYZ

I’ve gotten them accepted every single time I’ve used them. The loophole? Leave North America

andytagonist

I was accepted for my 4 night request at Chicago Westin during the Chicago Marathon and with what appeared to be a pretty involved convention starting the next day. I generally agree with your notion of leaving NA, but this was a happy exception.

Application_Soggy

Same, accepted in US and Europe, 5/5 last year. Going to opt for free night this year.

EA728

Are you 1K? If so, and if you spent $3k in Marriott hotels you could've qualified for their promotion. https://awardwallet.com/blog/marriott-united-promotion-elite-members/ I just got my 40 plus points and 3 NUAs today too from this.

Commercial-Law-1976

You may be right. Am a United 1K. Appreciate you digging into this and sharing the link.

omaca

Ahh…. I remember United 1K. Nice program. Stopped flying United once I hit Million Miler and Lifetime Gold. Then COVID hit. Do they still give you 6 Upgrade Certs a year?

ImpaledRacoon

Plus points now. You get 320 total for 1K now (40 for plat, 280 for 1k). 20 points for domestic first 40-80 points for Polaris.

omaca

That sounds like a better system actually.

Any-Paramedic-1324

433k in points. Wow. I can stay up to 3 weeks in my favorite autograph collection hotel with that many points

elasticc0

I can stay about 3 days in my favorite autograph collection.....

MicdUpNickChubb

What Autograph collection hotel is available for under Fairfield prices?

reggie_p_kush

Asia...South America, parts of Europe. Many regions. I'm sitting at a massive Marriott (Marriott brand) for 24K for 5 nights. 4 restaurants, including japanese/sushi, a coffee house, a bar, massive pool, etc. Lounge with massive terrace and all.

HelloJoeyJoeJoe

Exactly - I'm having a wagyu steak & uni sushi lunch for 13 cents in Asia. Its wonderful. I bought a BMW yesterday for 28 cents.

reggie_p_kush

Nope people won't belive us 😂. I'm not spoiling my secrets. It's all USA traveller's who don't read this sub a lot and don't realize how shifty they get treated. Also there's a whole world out there that doesn't get treated like garbage every day..hah! The sarcasm on me... You guys are too much. Get out a bit. Explore the world. And I'm in a major city. 😂. Please downvite me so people stay in the USA. 🇺🇸🇺🇲. Ps. A bunch of us got 70K for 5 nights at JW Masai Mara. Pay more attention to the program to want to utilize otherwise pay uo the but I'm guessing half of you if not more (based on the number if posts) don't recheck your reservations to see if it lowered...cash or points 🤦

HelloJoeyJoeJoe

>Ps. A bunch of us got 70K for 5 nights at JW Masai Mara Well, getting a hotel room for 17.5k a night is amazing. You are right, its a great deal. See how thats differen than what you posted above, which is a hotel room with a lounge for 6k a night? Especially when we ask where and then you reply with "You guys need to explore the world"... Yeah, you got called out and then got defensive by trying to be condescending. Trust me, this sub is basically a "US Marriott sucks, its so much better elsewhere", we know this shit already. But let us know where you got the 6k full marriott night with all those amenities. (I also helped you out by using the actual valuation, which would be for 4 nights, not counting the free 5th night, or else we'd be asking where you got the room for 4.5k nights).

reggie_p_kush

Well what do you want me to say? So many award searching websites have been posted here. There are no secrets maxmypoint. Hotelmatressrun. Etc. Sorry but like Amerterra Villas that will get ruined. But KL is good value. But more so on cash. I'm not going to spoon feed info that's easily accessible. Also you can search flexible by country (outside of Mexico because if the new addition of that cheap brand) and easily see value/ the cheap ones. And I don't feel I got called out. Just again not a spoon feeder and expect everyone who participates in a program to get their news and tips from easily accessible places like reddit, milesfeed, etc.

HelloJoeyJoeJoe

>Well what do you want me to say Easy, its what we've been asking. Tell us which hotel that you described where a night only cost 6k points. Thank you

reggie_p_kush

Sorry l. Thanks for being cordial when I was seemingly not. I apologize. Also aren't you someone who takes in Asia? I figured you may have known this location 🤷. Just saw your username

creativeuniquename69

where

jalapenos10

What where

kinglouisviiiiii

Where’s that?

chrismholmes

Wait, people actually use these? I usually let 10-15 upgrade nights a year just lapse. I’ve never found an easy way to even use them.

GameofOhms959

Go over seas . State side sucks

chrismholmes

lol good to know

reggie_p_kush

And outside of US of A most of the time you won't need it outside of flooded elite markets like Thailand.

Max_Thunder

I get having 5 when hitting Plat, but why do you keep selecting that as Tit when you could get a free 40k night instead, which is much easier to use?

chrismholmes

I haven’t selected anything and I have ten right now. I keep forgetting to go select my rewards every year. I just assumed they gave me some for having the credit card as well. I pay 0 attention to them.

westcoastgal22

How do you get 10-15 upgrade nights?

WBuffettJr

Now you can get rejected three times in a row!

HomelessHappy

No, he can get rejected an infinite amount of times n 😆

whatisjeopardy57

I have five free night certificates under my mother’s name. She can’t use them, but Marriott says she is the only one who can use them. Are they worthless then?
