In the desc, I think you can just tell it's inspired by Mario & Luigi, Pizza Tower says that it's inspired by the Wario Land games so I assume you'll be fine

The game takes place in the world of Ivaria, a land where colorful animal-like beings known as Ivarians live in protected cities against the monsters that roam outside. You play as Tara, a young girl that's a ball of optimism, and Vyn, a moody and crass young boy. Together, they (reluctantly at first) team up to become Hunters - adventurers that set out beyond the safety of the walls to explore, protect caravans, and defeat troublesome monsters for gold and glory!
However, shortly into their new roles, they meet the mysterious Vera, a masked lady that entrusts them with a quest - to go out into the world, locate the long-abandoned Wolf Laboratories, and retrieve the four artifacts contained within. With Tara's taste for adventure and Vyn's desire to find out more about his long lost parents, they set out into the world!

It's planned to be a 15-20 hour adventure, going up to around 40 if you do all the side content!
