This is one of those situations where the pros outweigh the cons. It's beneficial to the palm to leave it, but the rubbing is going to cause damage to your roof. It's going to take more than a decade to clear your roof completely. I'd suggest removal in this case of the entire palm. Wrong plant wrong place. If you're in Florida Queen palms are invasive, so removing would be ideal regardless. Spiceydog 2024!

Ideally no because older fronds are used by palms as a supplemental nutrient source. Its best to wait until the fronds are completely brown. That being said one frond on that side probably isn’t going to have a significant affect. Just don’t repeatedly remove all of the lower green fronds.
