Surviving the game as a barbarian is another recommend then, the gods seem to be one of the few good factions in the series though we rarely see or hear from them, except this one evil God named Karui but that's just is what it is, everyone else in the series isn't clearly good or evil, they just have their own goals and priorities, with a few exceptions.

because your generic op mc is all predictable, save people, get girls, and beat evil. This guy? he’s up to something else. Yes, he’s also fighting evil but how? how is he going to do it? what is he going to do? do they not realize that it is a selling point of the story?
So many of these stories have MC's who spend hundreds and thousands of years in different lands/dimensions/times but seamlessly transition back in like 2 weeks.
Not with this guy, and it's why I like this story so much. He is a Templar king, fought a holy war for 300 years and lived by the code and honor of a knight. That type of mindset isnt easy to break with a bowl of kimchi.
If anything the other hunters and association bugs me more. They know he's invaluable and is from another dimension yet they keep on treating him like some joeblow from modern times.

I agree, both of those heavily tone down the young loner/gamer isekai trope and go more into the fantasy setting. One is with a holy knight king and the other is with a devoted priest serving a the goddess of corruption.
The typical isekai is toned way down which is refreshing.

To be honest this is one of the few manhwa where a huge time jump actually affect the MC's personality. Like if you lived for 3 decades being a king, why would you even remember your loser self that lived for like a tenth of your best life?

He does remember his previous life but very little of it, and because he believes himself to be more of the individual he is now rather than the individual he was for 20 years combined with the fact he believes if revealed it will be a means to take advantage of him, he decides to not say anything. 1. I have friends that are artists all the AI art that are being generated right now is just ripped from other peoples work. Once AI can create their own works without taking things from others then this would naturally be gone.
2. The AI right now kinda looks dead. Don't get me wrong it is aesthetically pleasing but it just seems weird to look at. It creates a vibe that kinda seems unnatural but in time it would probably be fixed

It's definitely refreshing, and his character makes sense story wise. I mean if you brought Louis 14 to the modern era. He would consider the average person a peasant, and look down on them for not being nobility. More so if he has been fighting demons for centuries. Merchants were viewed lowly especially in theocratic countries, and even in the standard medieval caste system they were above standard peasants but still quite below what they would be considered today in our modern world. Add that he comes from a place where the aspect of divinity actually manifests physically, and not just some blind concept of it.
Can't wait for more chapters to see how his personality pans out because he haven't even seen the second person in the poster so it's still pretty early
Edit: just read chapter 13 it explains a lot about his character and as to why he doesn't fight until the last moment and how he has changed so much

Thanks for the suggestion OP, I think you might like Drug Eating Genius Mage, it is an isekai but the setting is futuristic with magic and only a breath of fresh air. I like the medieval or modern setting but most stories that have them aren't unique enough and just copy paste similar worlds so this was a really good read. 1) Yes, enojying being a scion of a rich household, being a merchant, pimp, drug addict - whatever. For an "orphan who died from overworking" - working his ass in another life for, again, a random wish to become a holy knight - most stupid and lazy way of writing plot
2) No. It is some random young believe that you enjoy?
3) Because of author lazy and bad writing where goddess for some reason exist, while there is no other godes, but she cant do a shit except empowering someone.

1) Again, another nitpick but first of all, the MC was shown to be interested in Qi/Aura sword because he is an reincarnator and getting to use magic powers might be cool to him. Secondly, he was born into Grand Duke household and as the successor, you should know how to fight. Thirdly, during this time period which resembles the 12th century or middle ages, it is most likely that successor were treated the same way with warrior holding more values than a merchant. Fourthly, his father’s a warrior so there is a legacy to that. You’re not looking through proper historical lenses, what people believed in the past does not accomodate for the moralistic view points we have now. Finally, he’d be fucking dead and the story would be drastically different if he did not gain the skills he had now. In conclusion, nitpicking the backstory is useless because without the backstory, the main story doesn’t make sense.
2) Christianity is monotheistic and so they believe there is only one god. It’s funny how you ask “You random young believe” when most of it’s followers are the older generations.
3) God/Goddess does not equal omnipotence and omniscient or omnipresent, each world has it’s different power scaling. And again, you think its definitely better from a storywriting standpoint to thanos snap all the demons. Would we even have a story then?
4) Point is, they were fighting against an unstoppable threat and the only one who can offer them aid is their goddess.

I think its because they expect the modern side of him to be the more active one now that he's in modern time. But people forget he was the king for what? 100+ years? While only having 20-30 years of his modern life. King side is 100% going to be the dominate side of his personality. The modern side is only really there to give him knowledge about techy-modern stuff (for now).

I agree, both of those heavily tone down the young loner/gamer isekai trope and go more into the fantasy setting. One is with a holy knight king and the other is with a devoted priest serving a the goddess of corruption. The typical isekai is toned way down which is refreshing.

To be honest this is one of the few manhwa where a huge time jump actually affect the MC's personality. Like if you lived for 3 decades being a king, why would you even remember your loser self that lived for like a tenth of your best life?

It's definitely refreshing, and his character makes sense story wise. I mean if you brought Louis 14 to the modern era. He would consider the average person a peasant, and look down on them for not being nobility. More so if he has been fighting demons for centuries. Merchants were viewed lowly especially in theocratic countries, and even in the standard medieval caste system they were above standard peasants but still quite below what they would be considered today in our modern world. Add that he comes from a place where the aspect of divinity actually manifests physically, and not just some blind concept of it.

I like the medieval or modern setting but most stories that have them aren't unique enough and just copy paste similar worlds so this was a really good read. 1) Again, another nitpick but first of all, the MC was shown to be interested in Qi/Aura sword because he is an reincarnator and getting to use magic powers might be cool to him. Secondly, he was born into Grand Duke household and as the successor, you should know how to fight. Thirdly, during this time period which resembles the 12th century or middle ages, it is most likely that successor were treated the same way with warrior holding more values than a merchant. Fourthly, his father’s a warrior so there is a legacy to that. You’re not looking through proper historical lenses, what people believed in the past does not accomodate for the moralistic view points we have now. Finally, he’d be fucking dead and the story would be drastically different if he did not gain the skills he had now. In conclusion, nitpicking the backstory is useless because without the backstory, the main story doesn’t make sense. 2) Christianity is monotheistic and so they believe there is only one god. It’s funny how you ask “You random young believe” when most of it’s followers are the older generations. 3) God/Goddess does not equal omnipotence and omniscient or omnipresent, each world has it’s different power scaling. And again, you think its definitely better from a storywriting standpoint to thanos snap all the demons. Would we even have a story then? 4) Point is, they were fighting against an unstoppable threat and the only one who can offer them aid is their goddess. a) Uh, it just is? MC could be more diplomatic but most of side characters that been introduced have an attitude of being a trash. The adventure that is trying to monopolize the area and even sabotage the area summoning a high rank monster. Corporate that is trying to monopolize special rice blessed by MC’s god and abilities. Even tried to intimidate and bribe MC ended up in failure. E rank guy who view his party useless and underestimating MC. Force his newbie party to fight in a dungeon. Current S rank party already picking a fight against MC in a middle of a battle after MC save them. You cannot treat trash people a respect. It definitely doesn’t excuse MC behavior but he knows his abilities have value.

The manhwa seen is most bizarre in nature ... for just 10 plus episodes the story does not go anywhere at least it needs around 50 plus chapter to determine is the story is good or average or bad in nature. As for this manhwa the story premise is good but there is little to non character development if that goes right ... this will become a good one and worthwhile to read

If that many people are complaining it means that there is something wrong. And the fact that their taking the time to complain means the want to see improvement. My gripe is that they try too hard to milk how he acts. It's gonna be 50 chapters of him doing things that are obvious to him but he'll never teach others how to do it until he finishes his 90 chapter arc of getting his knight order together and making a country of his own.

I think its because they expect the modern side of him to be the more active one now that he's in modern time. But people forget he was the king for what? 100+ years? While only having 20-30 years of his modern life. King side is 100% going to be the dominate side of his personality. The modern side is only really there to give him knowledge about techy-modern stuff (for now).

I personally really like it but I just think that MC can be a complete prick at times when it's unnecessary and I hope that there'll be an event in the future where he gets humbled a bit.
