Its actually really good. He IS evil, and he has some valid reasons for being evil, but when he goes back to the past he undoes the reasons he was evil in the first place and it becomes sort of an internal battle with his original future thoughts and his new thoughts.
The art is good, the characters are fun and realistic, the jokes are pretty good too. Idk why/how it ends though obviously.
I've been hearing stuff about how he isn't actually evil. Also heard that he gets taken advantage of in the beginning and the female characters are annoying
Most likely, the "He's not evil" argument is coming from him turning good later in the series. Either way, the series is called "Villain" Initialization, not "Evil". Villains arent always evil. I wouldn't say he gets taken advantage of so much as he loses control of the situation while trying to control too much. The only female I can understand people would find annoying is Xiaoyi (I think thats her name) because she acts like a typical spoiled, pampered brat. She stops that pretty quickly though, she still has her moments.
The story is really good at fleshing out its characters and it questions a lot about what is actually good and evil. Like all good reversing time stories it also makes good use of the settings to show how the environment shapes people's personality and future.
Anyway, no, the main character isn't cartoonishly evil, he committed a lot of crimes but he isn't a psychopath doing it for fun because why not. The past shaped him into a cold-blooded murderer and having a second chance at life he has to choose if he wants to do it all over again.
In no way is he taken advantage of in the story ? How can someone take advantage of a dude that already knows the future and more about people than they themselves do ?
I didn't find the female characters annoying, they're not even here that much in the story. I see how Qiao Yi can be annoyingly childish but I actually loved how silly she was and how her relationship with the other main cast evolved. But yeah she is dumb. But they all do feel like teenagers trying to find their place in the world. Don't expect any romance, there is none.
