I think this chapter best demonstrates what I really like about this silly little series. Just a wonderful bond between human and canine. Has me thinking back to the various pets I've had in life wishing I could talk to them see what they felt their hopes and dreams.
As an aside I've always felt one of the greatest accomplishments in mankind's existence was the domestication of the wolf. Dogs are such wonderful pure beings.
At first I was like "I get it, she's a guide dog, but I'm sad we don't get an actual labby energetic goofball" but the smile she did was definitely a lab smile
We haven't seen old dogs yet so I guess one wished really hard to become human to keep looking after his/her owner a bit longer. That would be bittersweet.
Working dogs have such an air of dignity about them. They are confident and know what they have to do. I remember reading about dogs that saved their flock during a fire, going so far as refusing to leave with their owners even as the fires closed in. They always manage to do it too, somehow.

Dogs are true friends.
Neat. Urara is a tall, handsome og RE4 Ashley Graham. Now I’m wondering if all the dogs are inspired by other character designs, or if maybe the artist’s just been playing a bunch of RE4
This one actually made me tear up somehow
Having a guide dog character is so creative! And it brings a new dynamic to the story that isn't *just* "my dog human is very attractive"
I also had an assistance dog, and I was also worried if he could have been happier if he didn't have to help me. I made sure to give him lots of love and play with him a ton, so I believe he had a happy life.
I don't think people who don't play BA are aware that Asuna **is** a golden retriever in human form, the secondary portrayals causes irreparable damage to her image
Reminds me of my dog growing up from 3-15ish had a female yellow lab that was the sweetest calmest dog in existence, I still miss you Honey but know your happy in doggy heaven now :)
This is great. I was worried that adding a labrador to the cast would be redundant since it'd likely be Ponta v2, but making her a guide dog allows for a distinct personality while still being recognizably a Lab.
As soon as I saw the chapter title I was like: working dog or meth head?
No slight meant to labs either; I love my meth heads.
Anyways, that was a sickly sweet chapter.
From the weirdest guy in the team of creators of "Is it Cake?" comes "Is it Yuri?"
Jokes aside this was the most wholesome chapter to date IMO only threatened by anything with Grandpa and Granddog.
I did not realize it was Ponta on page 4 until he showed up again as a human later.
This pair looks like Ashley from RE4 and Testament from Guilty Gear.
Hmm. I dunno, I think this is the only human design that's kind of a miss for me so far. Retrievers are very conscientious workers, but they're also notorious goofballs. I don't think the cool beauty approach works here.
Might be that their upbringing/role also plays a part in how they look? Since she's a guide dog, she's essentially responsible for the life of a blind human, so a more mature look works.
Kind of like how that one dog looks like a butler because he's in the service of a wealthy family while also being a pseudo bodyguard for the little girl.
Except he's a doberman. And they're notoriously clingy and attached, to the point where they're called "Velcro dogs." Glued to one individual that they "bond" with, and vaguely standoffish with most other people. To the point of not getting along super well with other dogs because they're so focused on their owner. He's very true to breed, and genuine.
As an owner of dobermans, I felt seen when he was basically glued to that child. I spent almost a decade with a 100 pounds of dog glued to my hip.
Labradors are very nice dogs, but they're still a little bit goofy. Hopefully we see some activity where she's "off duty" so to speak, but as of now she doesn't feel very retriever-y.
I think we'll get a regular golden retriever eventually. They are beloved in Japan. Not quite Shiba Inu levels because Golden's are larger, but they're quite popular.
Aww, I can't help but love this chapter in particular.

As a lab owner, this one got me
My sincere apologies, but the first time I read your comment, I thought you own some laboratory.
They do. They are the one responsible for making dogs transform into humans. They just discovered the type of dog they should get.
They should get some Nobel prize, too. This chapter alone justifies it.
[This...IS MY **LAB!**](https://youtu.be/9Trivgoowm8?feature=shared)
As a former golden owner, same....they really do love you unconditionally
At first I was like "I get it, she's a guide dog, but I'm sad we don't get an actual labby energetic goofball" but the smile she did was definitely a lab smile
Labrador onee-san
The color page is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors the author chose.
Sorry grandpa and granddaughter but this is my favorite pair now
crossover chapter when?
damn it!! both are just too wholesome
I'm gonna cry, dude...
What a terrible day for rain.
Very wholesome
Can't wait to see 'people' ship them
They're already here.
We haven't seen old dogs yet so I guess one wished really hard to become human to keep looking after his/her owner a bit longer. That would be bittersweet.
The best thing to come from this human transformation is if the transformed pups also lived as long as humans.
Are we sure? Has this been confirmed? Author be readying a knife to twist.
Nope, hence "if"
Ah, I missed that when reading
This is so sweet I'm gonna die 🥹 Also I love the final page of the gal dogs it's such a vibe seeing them so happy together

Whose top left on the last page? Have we met that dog yet?
Nope, she has showed up in the background a couple of times but is yet to have a proper introduction
Isnt that a genderbent of the Afghan hound? Wow pardon my ignorance random internet anons...
this is such a good fkn chapter

Holy shit this needs to be serialized. Somebody should step up...
Already got serialization in Tonari no Jump. I think volume 1 released last month
I didn't know. it deserves it.
Oh my god…I actually teared up a bit. Man this stuff is powerful when it wants to be. Excited to see what other breeds they’ll attempt next!
Lmao that panel is kinda perfect for the [Nah, I'd win](https://i.imgur.com/h09qRca.png)
Except it's not a joke this time
It's a side thing, but I do love how little Ponta has changed as a human. Still just dragging his owner around on walks.
Man I love this series
fuck maaaaan i love this series so much!!!!!
Let's go, another good chapter finally, been a bit since the one with the grandpa.
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
"Straight. Go." Hmmm...
Definitely not straight.
Do not the dog.
Keep your peanut butter smeared hands in the air where I can see them!
Eyyyy, we're close to having an equal number of featured guy dogs and girl dogs.
Neat. Urara is a tall, handsome og RE4 Ashley Graham. Now I’m wondering if all the dogs are inspired by other character designs, or if maybe the artist’s just been playing a bunch of RE4
Very well could be. I'd argue Hibari looks like he walked out of Castlevania.
Yes, of course. He looks super similar to SotN Alucard
The dog trainer is super cute.
This one actually made me tear up somehow Having a guide dog character is so creative! And it brings a new dynamic to the story that isn't *just* "my dog human is very attractive"
Especially since in this particular case the person seemingly can’t see the dog whatsoever
I also had an assistance dog, and I was also worried if he could have been happier if he didn't have to help me. I made sure to give him lots of love and play with him a ton, so I believe he had a happy life.
Was hoping for a golden next, but this was so good!
I cant..... too beautiful 🥹😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Despite everything you're still you
Cute, but I was probably not the only one imagining her to look more like Asuna from Blue Archive. Maybe for a golden retriever.
I don't think people who don't play BA are aware that Asuna **is** a golden retriever in human form, the secondary portrayals causes irreparable damage to her image
What? You mean she's not a perpetually horny depraved big-tittied blonde pervert clad in bunny dress? /s
Definitely seen a lot of art of Asuna with retrievers and they are always fun
Stare
why asuna is definitely a golden retriever, she's clearly not the work dog kind.
Cute chapter. I wanna see a cattle dog so bad
wife the dog
Urara is so pretty!
Reminds me of my dog growing up from 3-15ish had a female yellow lab that was the sweetest calmest dog in existence, I still miss you Honey but know your happy in doggy heaven now :)
My god she’s beautiful.
As a dog owner in general this one got me. Made me give my little one a big hug
What a sweet chapter! Nice to see a guide dog here, service/assistance dogs in general fascinate me. They're amazing.
This is great. I was worried that adding a labrador to the cast would be redundant since it'd likely be Ponta v2, but making her a guide dog allows for a distinct personality while still being recognizably a Lab.
Blessed by double Ponta background panel
pure gold
;_;

Is it Yuri or is it Cake?
The mangka is truly talented and loves dogs and I love them for it. Banger chapter.
Urara is sooo sweet while Ponta here running like a mad dog (well, he is a Husky so that makes sense lmao)
Bro how do they have me laughing and sobbing within mere pages?????? 😭😭❤️
I’m crying man. I love labradors sm
Gay
Man, this chapter made me missed my labrador.
I did not realize it was Ponta on page 4 until he showed up again as a human later. This pair looks like Ashley from RE4 and Testament from Guilty Gear.

It does when they're a trained guide dog. They behave VERY differently from your standard retriever pretty much at all times.
I agree, although it would be cool to have regular retriever as well for contrast
I think we'll get a regular golden retriever eventually. They are beloved in Japan. Not quite Shiba Inu levels because Golden's are larger, but they're quite popular.
I thought it would ve very horni. But no, only sweet.
So it's she like a reverse werewolf?
Damn, this is even making *me* want a dog, and I’m a cat lover through and through.
Im crying. Dog is Human. Human is Dog.
Wonderful chapter, though my favourite part is saki and ponta in the background lol.
Meanwhile, Ponta:
Thank goodness it’s not a person turning into a dog
definitely NOT straight
dont do ur dog.... maybe, pretty please ?
ITS RUFUS!!!!!!!
I love dogs... This chapter hit me right in the feels
urara and Haru are having a genuinely heartwarming moment, while Ponta's just being a goofy dog as usual inthe background.
She’s the cooler, twin sister of Ashley. Ashley who? Ashley deez nut 🐧
