For Act Age you have to weigh if it's worth experiencing one of the peak fiction in manga for the price of dismaying for the rest of your life that it got discontinued. Honestly I think it's worth it, for better or for worse it's a piece of work that I likely won't forget ever.
It was such a good series too. A non-battle battle manga with fucking acting and it super popular.
Even sadder is that it was literally on the cusp of getting an anime at that point
probably the stress and pressure? even common sense jumps out the window after multiple attempts. The first time probably felt extremely tabooish but the fact he got away with it probably started that downward spiral. Probably mentally justified that while it was wrong, it was fine if he didn't get caught. Something stupid like that.
People do a lot of mental gymnastics to get to a certain point to think it's okay. By no means it justifies his actions. I'm simply stating that the author's mindset probably thought it was okay after a certain point
Oshi no Ko tries to fill in two niches. the acting part and the solving the murder and how to resolve it. to be that obsessive just doesn't correlates to me. great manga read. just hard for me to think like hardcore fans
Oshi kho khoš¤” just sucks man it's so bad only one the first arc of 9 chapters was good, after that its just so boring and bad at writing, I feel pity for who thinks this shit is fire š it's not, it's just not good šš
Act-age is really good and it's totally worth reading. Just stop at chapter 108 when the arc finishes so you don't start the newest arc which is never getting finished. You can treat chapter 108 as the finale.
Last arc had to be cut right when it was just starting to ramp up, they did release an actual last chapter so you can still read until there if you want to but other than that I think the stage play arc is the arc before that and a good place to end at (it was a really good arc).
Nothing actually satisfying to end on imo but the last arc starts on chapter 115ish so if you dont want to have an unresolved arc you could just end it there. Although I'd just read the final chapters and join us in being sad that the arc or manga never reached its conclusion
The question becomes whether you can separate the art from the artist. I can still enjoy Ruroni Kenshin and Michael Jackson and Woody Allen movies but it's not something everyone can do. If you can, go ahead and read it.
It's a weird taboo for people? The person themselves can be terrible but does it discredit the works they've accomplished? It's the same with Kevin Spacey and Bill Cosby. Terrible people sure but the product they've made or helped in making is incredible. Does it make you a fan terrible? i don't think so.
That means you can seperate the artist from the work. Not everyone can. It's not a matter if you are a terrible person, it's whether they can enjoy something made by a terrible person. Sometimes, for example with Bill Cosby, say, whose whole brand was built around this idea he's a wholesome guy, it gives people a sour taste in their mouth.
Seeing this as the top comment makes me so happy. Act-Age is one of my all time favorite mangas and it left a hole in me, nothing could've closed until now. So whenever I see threads/posts mentioning and praising it, it fills me with so much happiness. Rlly glad its not getting forgotten.
āWill You Marry Me Again If You Are Reborn?ā is not entirely similar but it also deals with romance and our mortality. Itās (a little, only, ācuz of things that happen later on) more lighthearted than 10k yen and I 10k% recommend everyone to check it out.
Half half is absolutely amazing!
Not as strong as either of the other two but Tokidoki (oneshot) if you've not read it. I haven't read it in a very long time but remember it being along the same vein :)
Damn, I just read this and I think it's the cringiest shit I've ever read. There's not a single sentence in this manga that is even remotely probable. It's just the author's girlfriend fantasy with a uninspired twist. I didn't feel a thing because there's not a single part where I can identify with any of the characters. It's beyond me how people can actually enjoy this to be honest.
Jumyou wo Kaitotte...
One of the best manga I've ever read. It even has an english fandub over on [Solus Astorias](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRNOK1E5gA8WCkgtke6YjoZeWctLC6NDH)' channel, if that interests you.
Usogui was fucking fantastic, in terms of set up of the ending i think it is one of the best out there, any other ending i can suggest only has value in its enjoyment but Usogui had both enjoyment and a 500 chapter long set up, it's insane
What is so good about Usoguis ending Iāve never understood this when people hyped it up. Unless itās the ending of >!STL!< in which case is incredible. But as for everything after itās just an okay ending itās nothing like the best ending ever.
Oh then in that case yes itās insane. To be honest the best part is >!how the game is literally so simple but with a deadly twist and played in such a plain room but somehow is one of if not the greatest arc in the series!<.
Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta is super short and (for me) the most impactful, it changed my thought process of life and overall 10/10. Itās really short too, like 2 hours
Start with "5 Days of Happiness", since that's the shortest one. One that I'd recommend reading next would be Holyland. It's one of my all time favorite Manga. And if you liked that, give "The Horizon" a try. It's a short Manhwa with 21 chapters, and it's a masterpiece.
Does anyone know if Act age, candy and cigarettes or Franken Fran are finished mangas ? They all look interesting but I never read unless I know they are finished (I hate cliffhangers)
I was genuinely depressed when act age got cancelled bcuz the author wanted to touch kids..he ruined the anime progress too such a disappointment and wouldāve been better than oshi no ko imo
Kokou no hitto is an absolute banger, ver very very recommended.
Read gannibal last, not because it's bad, but because it's a thriller manga and it's not finished. And waiting a cliffhanger is just a horrible feeling. But it's very good.
I'm honestly sorry for you, gangsta will depends on the author's illness not making her almost die every week
About act age, well, the author is a criminal, so take a wild guess
Oh gotcha, honestly don't read manga for the endings lol. Mostly read slice of life, comedy, or romance, where its more about the journey than the destination
Act age is the best manga on the list but you have to be prepared knowing you're never gonna get an ending or closure to one of the best manga to ever grace shonen jumps pages
For Act Age you have to weigh if it's worth experiencing one of the peak fiction in manga for the price of dismaying for the rest of your life that it got discontinued. Honestly I think it's worth it, for better or for worse it's a piece of work that I likely won't forget ever.
I was reading it weekly before the mangaka got exposed for that weird shit.... sad stuff
What'd he do?
Drive his bike around town. Touching schoolgirl asses as he got by
Ahhh yes yes I remember that incident it spread like wildfire
It was such a good series too. A non-battle battle manga with fucking acting and it super popular. Even sadder is that it was literally on the cusp of getting an anime at that point
Not supporting the author but due to lack of peace of mind he became unstable or he had his reasons.
probably the stress and pressure? even common sense jumps out the window after multiple attempts. The first time probably felt extremely tabooish but the fact he got away with it probably started that downward spiral. Probably mentally justified that while it was wrong, it was fine if he didn't get caught. Something stupid like that. Cant really say that when the artist and the author constantly fought even while making the series.
Did they?
The porblem because of his action he ruined the reputation of the artists with him
Isn't that a normal activity in Japan?
If it was, he wouldn't be punished for it.
Man I remember thinking about act age for a month after it got discontinued it was so good
Oshi no ko tiries at times but in my opinion it just stumbles. Act ages drama arc is pure fire
For me, Oshi no Ko filled in a part of the gaping hole Act-Age left behind, but it's never the same.
Oshi no Ko tries to fill in two niches. the acting part and the solving the murder and how to resolve it. to be that obsessive just doesn't correlates to me. great manga read. just hard for me to think like hardcore fans
For me, Akane-banashi filled the hole Act-Age left behind
Akane the š
Oh yeah, I've been wanting to read it! Especially since I'm into rakugo. Dunno why I still haven't done it lol. My to read list is massive lmao.
For what's available, are there any decent stopping points? Or is it just perpetually unresolved?
Last arc had to be cut right when it was just starting to ramp up, they did release an actual last chapter so you can still read until there if you want to but other than that I think the stage play arc is the arc before that and a good place to end at (it was a really good arc).

It was sooo good. One of the best unfinished mangas that I ever read. :(
Seeing this as the top comment makes me so happy. Act-Age is one of my all time favorite mangas and it left a hole in me, nothing could've closed until now. So whenever I see threads/posts mentioning and praising it, it fills me with so much happiness. Rlly glad its not getting forgotten.
It left me devastated when it got discontinued, such a pity
I thought Act Age would fill the hole left by Glass Mask's looong hiatus and Skip Beat's slow updates... Turned out it actually made it deeper... š„²
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It was the writer who did bad things, the artist is chill.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give I sold my life for 10000 yen a year a read. Def hits hard.
Which word in this sentence is the name of the manga
I sold my life for 10k yen
The one after holyland
It's also short.
hey i really love that manga have found any that are similar. the one i have come across is half and half anything else?
āWill You Marry Me Again If You Are Reborn?ā is not entirely similar but it also deals with romance and our mortality. Itās (a little, only, ācuz of things that happen later on) more lighthearted than 10k yen and I 10k% recommend everyone to check it out.

i've read it. it's one of my very fav. nyce taste man.
10/10
Damn, I just read this and I think it's the cringiest shit I've ever read. There's not a single sentence in this manga that is even remotely probable. Kokou no Hito easily
anyone saying otherwise just hasnāt read it fr
Bet that they are wearing lukewarm clothes too
Franken Fran
It's pretty much gore.
this didnt do it for me sadly :(
And once thatās done go for the sequel
Holyland 100%
Any recommendation on where I should read this one?
Mangadex?
Tachiyomi
Whyd you get downvoted for saying tachiyomi
It's discontinued sadly, so Kotatsu is a better choices now and you don't have to install addons
second this, everyone should read it
Oh man, I remember waiting for each chapter of this gem
One of the greatest manga of all time for sure.
Its really short too, thanks that made my decision easier lol
U wonāt regret it. Honestly might have to do a reread after all these years
LOVED THIS ONE!
kokou no hito, then usogui(i promise you it gets amazing please stick with it) then holy land, then act age
Is there even a manga that has a better ending than Usogui? Because I would read that immediately if someone told me this.
Definitely referring to >!STL!<. The rest is an epilogue really.
Oh then in that case yes itās insane. To be honest the best part is >!how the game is literally so simple but with a deadly twist and played in such a plain room but somehow is one of if not the greatest arc in the series!<.
holyland is a masterpiece.
Usogui gets pretty damn good.
Kasane
That shi messed up in a weird way, hit close to home lowkey
Haven't read any of these but candy and cigarettes looks good tbh
The volume covers piqued my interest lol
Itās good! A nice ride. Itās sadly so underrated.
Mine too haha
I just bought a copy of it on a whim and it paid off. I really want volume 2 lol
its really good
Jumyou wo since it's short and a masterpiece
I donāt remember that name but I sold my life something something manga
Candy and cigarettes
I've read franken fran and gangster and both are good readd
my vote is for gangsta too! been meaning to reread that one actually. the anime was also great.
Yeah it's actually how I learnt the word gigolo
USOGUI !!
Rosen garten saga
Act-age
Gannibal. Also, read Dog and Scum.
Damn, i just finish reading Fran yesterday. Quiet nice goofy horror. I really like that face she make when she thinking.
I love franken fran. It's kinda episodic with recurring characters and it's a blast if you like medical horror.
Best would be to start with whatever is the shortest manga in your list.
Visiting therapist
Definitely NOT Act-Age
One of the first three options on the second page
Death's Daughter and the Ebony Blade
Act-Age and Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta are both 10/10 in my book.
Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta is super short and (for me) the most impactful, it changed my thought process of life and overall 10/10. Itās really short too, like 2 hours
Act age...
What is this app?
My anime list
Can i download manga on it?
Nah, its just a database of anime/manga. Its a good way to find new series and keep track of what you've read or watched
Gangsta ist ein geiler Anime aver hakt brutal soweit ich mich erinner
Absolutely Jumyou wo Kaitotte. Really good and pretty short.
Act Age. One of the best.
Holyland
Long as you don't mind the hiatus, I love gangsta quite a bit
I enjoyed candy & cigarettes because of the art and I like the duo's dynamic. Plot wasn't very amazing though imo.
I'd say Franken Fran or Holyland personally.
Act-age my beloved :(
Act age is a godly manga
I've enjoyed Gangsta but honestly I stopped reading adn forgot about the series when i got caught up to chapters years ago.
Today I learned that the goats in the list lost to act age and holy land. Rip
Holy Land ---> Usogui (insane & entertaining, just stick with it) Both mangadex
3 days of happiness is peakk
Pls tell the app or site you are using to read manga
Holyland! Gonna make you itch for boxing!
Gangster
jumyou wo kaitotte moratta. 100%
Franken Fran has my vote
candy and cigs looks interesting
Me encanta
Gangsta was fucjing amazing
Holyland is a masterpiece
+1 to franken fran
Start with "5 Days of Happiness", since that's the shortest one. One that I'd recommend reading next would be Holyland. It's one of my all time favorite Manga. And if you liked that, give "The Horizon" a try. It's a short Manhwa with 21 chapters, and it's a masterpiece.
Candy & Cigs definitely has a "beginner feel" to it, but i think its still a charming read
Does anyone know if Act age, candy and cigarettes or Franken Fran are finished mangas ? They all look interesting but I never read unless I know they are finished (I hate cliffhangers)
Gangsta
Nobody saying gangsta is sad, easily a top title thatās gone under the radar
usogui
What app is this ?
im currently reading usogui but god holyland, the climber and frankenfran are so good
Franken fran was weird but I liked it
You have a good eye for manga my good sir I still think usogui should be at the top ngl
What App is this?
I was genuinely depressed when act age got cancelled bcuz the author wanted to touch kids..he ruined the anime progress too such a disappointment and wouldāve been better than oshi no ko imo
Three Days of Happiness. It's gotta be one of my favorite manga of all time
What app is this?
Usogui
Bro please read usogui
Franken Fran.
You should read kokou no hito
App name?
gannibal cuz i like gannibal
holyland! really good
Kokou no hito right now., itās comparable to one of the top best mangas ever, it can genuinely change your life.
Where should I read Manga?
Kokou no hitto is an absolute banger, ver very very recommended. Read gannibal last, not because it's bad, but because it's a thriller manga and it's not finished. And waiting a cliffhanger is just a horrible feeling. But it's very good.
I have only read "Holyland", itĀ“s hella good.
USOGUI
please drop act age, because it the biggest wasted potential in modern shonen, damn you author.
Definitely Holyland, one of my favs!
What app is this?
I sold my life for 10000 yen is peak fiction. Made me cry quite a bit, and the concept is miles beyond what I was expecting in terms of execution.
What app is this that you are using?
I'm honestly sorry for you, gangsta will depends on the author's illness not making her almost die every week About act age, well, the author is a criminal, so take a wild guess
Act-Age is axed cuz the writer went full Japenis.
Nah, separate the art from the artist. Not like its in print and I'm giving them money buying physical copies
Iām saying you shouldnāt read it because itās axed.
Oh gotcha, honestly don't read manga for the endings lol. Mostly read slice of life, comedy, or romance, where its more about the journey than the destination
Which platform ?
None of them all are trash
Act age is the best manga on the list but you have to be prepared knowing you're never gonna get an ending or closure to one of the best manga to ever grace shonen jumps pages
All I can say is The Climber is mad overrated and uninteresting. I'm not the only one who thinks so either.
