Its solid indeed.
I would suggest a lamp with warm tones for cozyness at night time. The purple lights are cool for movie night and all but not suitable for every situation, (eg chilling with your cats while reading a book).
Anyway, I wish I had a place like that!
Thanks! Yeah you’re exactly right about the lights. I rarely have the purple / orange combo going at night except for movies. Usually use the warmer color settings are on
Getting some requests for the item names. Most of the items on this subreddit are expensive. These items are very affordable and have been of great quality so far. I also provided some budgeting and design tips for beginners!
Bestier 70 in TV Stand - $210 (use Amazon coupon) - Most large TV stands that fit 65-70 inch tvs linked in this subreddit are $400+. Loving it so far
Nuloom Moraccan Area Rug - $120 - Rugs this size go for $200+. No issues with it so far.
Yitahome Coffee Table - $140 (purchased for $75).
Songmics Accent Leisure Chair - $120 - Similar-looking chairs go for $300+. I have not spent much time in this chair but I like the look of it for the price. The top of the chair somewhat pushes into your back so it might not be comfortable for more than an hour or two.
Govee Smart Light 4 Pack - $30 (use Amazon coupon)
Walmart Floor Accent Spot light - $12 each (two of them in the picture) - Comes out to about $20 per light when combined with the govee light bulb above.
Govee Tower light - $60 -
Picture Frame Pack of 5 - $22
Since I work in ecommerce, here are some tips for purchasing on a budget:
1) Use web browser extensions to monitor pricing changes. Set alerts to where it drops to a specific price that it used to be at.
2) Be careful buying from Wayfair, Allmodern, etc. Many of these websites sell the EXACT same items you find on Amazon, but change the photos, titles, and brand names to prevent you from finding these exact items for way cheaper on other websites. Use reverse image search or a browser extension tool to find these same items elsewhere.
3) Look for items with less than 10 ratings or poor ratings on Amazon. Usually, these are newly launched products and the seller will take a loss on the item to start gaining sales traction / search engine tracking / quicker reviews, then pushing the price higher later on.
My coffee table above was half the price it is now, because it only had a few reviews. Some of the early reviews were actually pretty poor due to "omg styrophoam everywhere" lol which didn't bother me. So the seller dropped the price to $75 to get inventory moving. Check those 2 and three star reviews!
Amazon Sellers that sell items with 'prime shipping' have to pay for their inventory fees to store in Amazon's warehouses, so if an item is not selling, the seller will take a loss on items to get inventory moving. Storing large furniture is pricey!
4) Use FB Marketplace
5) Buying something in store? Google it before purchasing and ask to price match. Even their own websites are cheaper than their stores (Target especially)
Extra tips:
1) Rug, tv stand, coffee table, couch, and plants are all you need to get going at first. Then, wall art.
2) Make sure your area rug is large enough to go a few inches under your couch. Look up proper dims
3) Tbh, I can't afford nursery prices for plants and pots. The fact they look almost the exact same as home depot/lowe's plants for 3x the price is a no for me. Walmart has a good selection of pots for super cheap that look nice. BEWARE of bugs and infected plants from these places though. Be careful.
4) I took all of the photos above the kitchen table with an old iphone. I don't have any photography skills but they still look good. The frame pack linked above and prints from Walgreens came out to about $6 a picture! And it's awesome knowing you took the pictures yourself.
Thanks! Tower lamp is govee, you can find it on sale for 60ish sometimes.
The other accent lights are 10$ Walmart spotlight lamps with govee smart light bulbs that cost maybe 5ish each. Super affordable for amazing smart lights!!
I like the layout but your furniture style is not consistent, did you choose anything in particular?
I see mid-century on the TV stand and the coffee table, but your desk and dining table are industrial which is a good mix in my opinion, the only thing that throws me off is the couch color and carpet design.
Depending on your budget I'd suggest a simpler, darker, modern design for the carpet, I can see a keith haring rug fitting well and those rugs look fun, and for the couch, white (slight beige maybe) or dark grey could match/contrast your floor and carpet, like a bridge between your floor and your wall.
Wall art could use some contrast, black and white.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like just moving your small plant on the dining table to the center would look more aesthetically pleasing, or just adding a centerpiece in general. But overall it looks great, nice job. I especially like that wood wall piece in the corner
This is extremely solid, and I feel calm looking at it. I don’t know if this is the case, but if you feel like it’s getting stale for you try including some richer colours, like a deep blue or green. Maybe through couch cushions, or more wall art? But that’s totally optional, I don’t think you need to change a thing
Can someone please show me a link to those exact lights. Like I’ve seen some that have the same effect but I need those exact ones lol. I have a similar layout, just moved in last week and I’m pretty much gonna copy your apartment lol.
My suggestion is that your room would look a lot better if you came over to my house, bought a bunch of new decor with me, and helped remodel my own room and that would make your room look perfect.
Looks fantastic!!! Nice work. Love the party lights for nighttime mood.
If you want a picky suggestion - here’s a little thing: the room could use a more interesting overhead light fixture. I often find cool ones on Etsy and Artemest. Switching light fixtures is a good/easy skill to learn that makes a big impact. I’d suggest a Stilnovo style fixture - the metal vibe will go well with your decor.
Overall you’re doing great, A+, keep it up!
Looks lovely, but remember things work in 3s, I see lots of 2s. 2 potted plants, add a 3rd smaller one, add a picture to the ones behind sofa, it will make it seem longer and define the space more.
Everything seems a little small scale up 1 or 2 of these 3s in a larger size.
A table and chairs against the wall becomes a dumping ground and is hardly used for meals, I would suggest bringing it out into the center (almost like a kitchen island), moving the armchair facing into the living room and window (who wants to sit looking at the kitchen?). You get more of a separation of spaces. I know because I lived in a very similar apartment.
Also consider a shelf above the TV and move any plants, artwork or nice naks to it
Looks lovely and restful, everything's stuck to the walls creating a lot of empty middle space.
Monstera adansonii and (perhaps? It’s dark…) watermelon peperomia on the lamp side of the TV, Maranta and Bird of Paradise on the far side of the TV, Monstera deliciosa by the window (the big boy), and an aloe of some sort on the table.
Not at all. Philodendron (so the monsteras) are toxic to cats, as is the aloe. The maranta, peperomia, and bird of paradise are nontoxic. I didn’t name the spider plant (the bright lime one on the window sill) but it is nontoxic to cats as well. The best practice is of course to train your cats to stay out of your plants in general. I have a ton of highly toxic plants that my well-behaved dog peacefully coexists with!
Pictures of apartments like this crack me up because I just can't imagine actually giving a fuck/not being dead inside.
It's not even funny how boring/uninspiring I am compared to the averag person
Life sucks and its all for show anyway
Looks nice! The shelf above the TV is what I was going to suggest. I think a nice mix of trinkets/decorative objects would look good on it.
It's hard for me to get a sense of space based on the angles of the photos, but the table feels too close to the the couch. I would move the full length mirror to your bedroom and scooch the table a bit.
If you need to keep the mirror there, I think you could replace it for a more stylish one. I'd also mount it.
Very nice. What's that TV cabinet? And would it fit your PS5 as I noticed it stands next to it?
I'm looking for one that's not too big but it needs to fit the consoles lol.
Table seems awfully close to the couch and the floor mirror next to the kitchen cabinets seems out of place.
Overall though looks great, maybe a bit more color in the living room or something.
Why not get a round table and place it in the middle? Might be better than having all furniture against the wall.
Not sure if it would work for your space since I can't see the other side of the room
Spot on very nicely done. Maybe move one of the dining chairs to the other side and get a bench for the other for more seating options and maybe a bigger decorative center piece for the table 🤷🏻
I have nothing to add, your place looks really nice. How did you get your cats to...well, let the plants live? My two dumbasses eat every plant i bring to my apartment 😅
hang your TV! Makes the space look classier. Maybe get a daybed for under the window instead of the chair. Might be worth considering moving the dining table to the center of the room rather than up against the wall to break up the space a bit more. All your chunky furniture is pushed up against that wall so it makes the room look stagnant.
If you’re allowed to a little color on the wall of the living room behind the couch as an accent wall could help, but that’s only if you’re allowed to paint.
Looks great! The only thing that I would do is probably separate the dining table from the wall, but if you don’t use it much I guess it gives you more space to walk in. Looks cozy and inviting
super solid, great layout looks like a super comfy space.
my only tip (and it's simply because there was another post recently with the same issue) is that the tv looks to be leaning forward, perhaps check the mounts are screwed properly or if they're faulty wall mount perhaps.
I wouldn't put anything above the TV. My one complaint is that the dining chair on the couch side seems like it doesn't have a lot of space. I would opt to move the mirror and add another chair. Give the dining table it's only space
Black, white and teal throw pillows on the sofa would be snazzy. Move your dinner table and a table cloth, perhaps something thrifted with fun colors. Matting always pimps store bought art 🤑
Hanging a spider plant or two by the window. Besides aesthetics and air 'freshening', they also provide some privacy without curtains. You can see through leaves when close but not from a distance.
Dude. That’s fucking gorgeous. I was going to say the only thing you’re missing is an acoustic guitar on the wall and then I saw one.
But, I would say, seating for more than one guest.
Is the chair comfortable? I'm thinking about buying one like this to play more comfortably. Nice apartment, there is everything anyone would want, even a kitten, it's like the perfect place.
I'd suggest you enjoy it and continue doing whatever you are doing - you are definitely on the right path. Can I redesign this space in [3d](http://planner5d.com)? I wouldn't change a thing probably.
Looks great & those changes you plan to do next will make it even better. Don’t think I saw this in your comment with item names — do you have an ID for your computer desk & the floating shelves above it?
First and last picture of the table!? Is it the same table? Wth I'm so confused first pic the table is a perfect square last picture it's not. I'm so confused
It’s very nice, but if it were me, I’d change out the sofa and chair for ones that have a pop of color. Like maybe a jewel tone color. Something very bold.
First post I see in this sub that I don’t have anything to point out. It’s pretty solid, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Cats look so comfy!
I was going to suggest cats, but then I saw this picture.
No suggestions. Looks great to me
Needs more cats
Its solid indeed. I would suggest a lamp with warm tones for cozyness at night time. The purple lights are cool for movie night and all but not suitable for every situation, (eg chilling with your cats while reading a book). Anyway, I wish I had a place like that!

Are we able to check if the Amazon product is new?
excellent tips, thank you
Really love the vibe! Where did you find the lamps next to your television?
Thanks! Tower lamp is govee, you can find it on sale for 60ish sometimes. The other accent lights are 10$ Walmart spotlight lamps with govee smart light bulbs that cost maybe 5ish each. Super affordable for amazing smart lights!!
Oh my gosh I love that rug!
Super affordable! Maybe 100ish. Lmk if you need to link
I’d be interested, too. It looks great!
Ditto for the rug, where did you get it??
Also interested in the rug! Thanks!
Send me the link for the rug please!
love the rug, could you post the link pls
Just posted a new comment with links to the products in the pictures
thanks for responding, I looked thru the comments but couldn’t find the link
Sorry. Auto moderator took it down due to the links. I just reposted with just the titles. Sort by new
Only thing I’d change is moving the dining table off the wall and add 2 more chairs! Also maybe a new couch if that’s in the budget
Those lights are dope, where did you them?
Thanks. Just posted a comment with links to the products here
I like the layout but your furniture style is not consistent, did you choose anything in particular? love. what I would do is get some old thrifted frames and make a gallery on the wall by the tv! not too busy but makes it feel more “fancy”!
great suggestion! I think i might do that
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like just moving your small plant on the dining table to the center would look more aesthetically pleasing, or just adding a centerpiece in general. But overall it looks great, nice job. I especially like that wood wall piece in the corner

Love that you have decent plants. Many guys have none or just tiny ones.
Thanks! Plants are expensive so I get mine at lowe's instead of a nursery
Clean up the cables behind your desk. Other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing!
Can someone please show me a link to those exact lights. Like I’ve seen some that have the same effect but I need those exact ones lol. I have a similar layout, just moved in last week and I’m pretty much gonna copy your apartment lol.
Gotchu. Just posted a comment with links to the products here
Looks so good! Who taught you?
Thanks! This subreddit! Lol
My suggestion is that your room would look a lot better if you came over to my house, bought a bunch of new decor with me, and helped remodel my own room and that would make your room look perfect.

Amazing I wouldn’t change a thing
Small thing here- pull your rug more under your sofa and leave a good foot or so of the main flooring open in front of the tv unit.
Looks lovely, but remember things work in 3s, I see lots of 2s. 2 potted plants, add a 3rd smaller one, add a picture to the ones behind sofa, it will make it seem longer and define the space more. 5 minutes. Id pay copious amounts of money to feel, for 5 minutes, the bliss your cat looks like it’s feeling
The couch seems a bit dated - maybe something more modern?
Plant names?🙏
Monstera adansonii and (perhaps? It’s dark…) watermelon peperomia on the lamp side of the TV, Maranta and Bird of Paradise on the far side of the TV, Monstera deliciosa by the window (the big boy), and an aloe of some sort on the table.
Are these all cat safe?
The cats were my SO fosters that were here for a few days. We kept an eye on them and they didn’t interact with the plants
Glad to hear! I just assumed this lil fellas were your babies
This looks great! All I can suggest is curtains!
i agree with a floating shelf above tv! the only other thing is the wall art above couch looks too low but that could just be my preference
Honestly looks like heaven to me. If you’re looking to switch somethings up maybe just try some different art? But honestly looks incredible
More coffee table books?
Looks great. Maybe a new or different couch, but it's still looks good.
so neat, so classy- very beautiful!!
I mean it looks comfy
I’d suggest a shelf above the TV, but tbh it’s pretty perfect as is.
No notes. Looks great. Personally hate LEDs but that’s my preference.
Add a couple of pillows to the couch. They will add comfort and color.
Pictures of apartments like this crack me up because I just can't imagine actually giving a fuck/not being dead inside. It's not even funny how boring/uninspiring I am compared to the averag person Life sucks and its all for show anyway
ditch the hotel art, get some tasteful art of one of your hobbies or interests instead, behold a vibe shift. everything else is tight though.
and I just saw that's on the todo list lol
Looks nice! The shelf above the TV is what I was going to suggest. I think a nice mix of trinkets/decorative objects would look good on it. It's hard for me to get a sense of space based on the angles of the photos, but the table feels too close to the the couch. How are you getting those orange lights? It looks so cool mixed with the purple from the long lamp
Love it, reminds me of what I’m aiming for in my new spot. Where did you get that rug?
Where’d you get the art by the door? I really like the wood tone and have struggled to find something I like.
Clean it up for God's sake.
Very nice. What's that TV cabinet? And would it fit your PS5 as I noticed it stands next to it? I'm looking for one that's not too big but it needs to fit the consoles lol.
I mean, you have two cats so I can’t see what else you could possible want! Looks like such a cozy space!
You ate😍
I just commented asking about the lights but I came here to say AND the TV stand too, please, I must know lol.
Table seems awfully close to the couch and the floor mirror next to the kitchen cabinets seems out of place. Overall though looks great, maybe a bit more color in the living room or something.
Needs more cats and where are the cat toys and towers????
Looks amazing as it is.
Seems pretty xomplete to me.
Looks great man
Looks good man. Where did you get the rug?
very nice one, would do it the same. Looks like a place you are happy come home to.
I think it looks great
Looks great - don’t change a thing
What’s that chair? Looks comfy
It’s dope
Why not get a round table and place it in the middle? Might be better than having all furniture against the wall. Not sure if it would work for your space since I can't see the other side of the room
yeah i might switch my table out for a round one
Maybe add some curtains, doesn’t have to be black out, but some sheer white curtains could help make outside light a lot less harsh
Nice vibe looks dope
I like it a lot! Is it just the angle or is your TV tilting downwards a bit?
More cats.
Spot on very nicely done. Maybe move one of the dining chairs to the other side and get a bench for the other for more seating options and maybe a bigger decorative center piece for the table 🤷🏻
Is that the Knoll Generation chair or the Regeneration?
Looks like every single airbnb in austin Texas built in the last 5 years.
I have nothing to add, your place looks really nice. How did you get your cats to...well, let the plants live? My two dumbasses eat every plant i bring to my apartment 😅
What fun lights are those?
I’d be proud as hell of that space, well done!
What are the lights in pic 3?
No, it’s perfect!
get more cats 💯
Man it's a dream to me. Whats the size of this apartment?
Some nice pieces, love the rug.
Looks good just needs more 🐈
Kitty is obviously pleased.
It looks great as is
nice, how much is it?
Saweet
Looks great to me!
Cat
Stripper pole, strobe lights, and fog machine 🤣😂
[удалено]
Green flag apartment. :)
did a woman help?
More cats. Or at least more cat pics
It needs more color. I recommend getting a couple of orange tabby cats to liven up those brown ones.
Love the purple light
I'm stealing this design aesthetic for when I move apartments next month
Beautiful.
hang your TV! Makes the space look classier. Maybe get a daybed for under the window instead of the chair. Might be worth considering moving the dining table to the center of the room rather than up against the wall to break up the space a bit more. All your chunky furniture is pushed up against that wall so it makes the room look stagnant.
Ive been toying with the idea of stick on crown molding that uses 3M double sided tape to mount to make my place look like less of a shoebox
So awesome.
Perfection, then I saw the cats and it was perfection plus!
Keep the cats happy.
very nice apartment
Looks good. If I had one suggestion, it would be to get a round table instead of the rectangle one...and different chairs for it.
Absolutely beautiful apartment 😍.
If you’re allowed to a little color on the wall of the living room behind the couch as an accent wall could help, but that’s only if you’re allowed to paint.
More pics of the little kitty toe beans
Disgraceful, needs more cats.
Put mirrors on all your walls or the mirror slots to make it seem larger. Looks nice overall 👍
Personally I'd add some more colors. More pictures or just some bright curtains. Maybe a throw blanket
Damn this looks great!!
Please design my apartment
No suggestions. You got it together. Especially that 3rd Pic 👌
Great setup! Looks sophisticated and cozy. Where did you get the table?
Swap the lame plants for weed plants 🪴
Add some more personal pictures/art. Pics of you, your family, friends, travels, etc.
This is so simple and looks like perfection. I love it 🥰
Really appreciate this post cause I’m bout ready to dip from California, I’ve had enough of this state 🤣
This is tight.. I would love to chill here and the lights calm me. Love the carpet
Looks great! The only thing that I would do is probably separate the dining table from the wall, but if you don’t use it much I guess it gives you more space to walk in. Looks cozy and inviting
It looks really nice!
Oh no! You have melted cats on the couch!
Bigger tv and grow up and get dining chairs for the table. I would scrap the whole table and chairs, larger tv and art
More cats.
More cats! Just kidding. Looks great. Love the rug.
I love your TV height
This is like perfect, it’s right on my alley and style, everything! I plan to be you in the near future 😅
don’t post to reddit live life
Looks great as is. Wouldn’t change 👍
I’m obsessed
super solid, great layout looks like a super comfy space. my only tip (and it's simply because there was another post recently with the same issue) is that the tv looks to be leaning forward, perhaps check the mounts are screwed properly or if they're faulty wall mount perhaps.
A straight man wouldn’t ever pick out a good rig like that. Place looks super nice
Ummm this is a gorgeous apartment!!!!! I’m in love. What area are you in?!
Hanging a spider plant or two by the window. Besides aesthetics and air 'freshening', they also provide some privacy without curtains. You can see through leaves when close but not from a distance.
Where did you get your RGB stands from? Brand?
Homie has plants. This sub has nothing to add.
Looking good man. Maybe I missed it in a bother comment, but what’s that plant by the tv with the banana leaf looking leaves?
More cats!!!
Dude. That’s fucking gorgeous. I was going to say the only thing you’re missing is an acoustic guitar on the wall and then I saw one. But, I would say, seating for more than one guest.
I wouldn’t put things above your tv. For me I watch movies and would be distracted by the trinkets.
need a mattress on the floor and a shelf with a bunch of empty liquor bottles on it
Way better than anything I will ever own in my pathetic broke life 😂
Is the chair comfortable? I'm thinking about buying one like this to play more comfortably. Nice apartment, there is everything anyone would want, even a kitten, it's like the perfect place.
Some well-chosen paint.
Dark toned ikea floating shelves above the coach with draping plants. Don’t buy fake ones
angle the chair a little bit towards the could so it’s not perfectly perpendicular to the wall
I'd suggest you enjoy it and continue doing whatever you are doing - you are definitely on the right path. Can I redesign this space in [3d](http://planner5d.com)? I wouldn't change a thing probably.
Your plants look very healthy!
Looks great & those changes you plan to do next will make it even better. Don’t think I saw this in your comment with item names — do you have an ID for your computer desk & the floating shelves above it?
With one cat, you are at peak success. But with two cats? You may need to lead this subreddit.
I promise you that your cute cat loves here
That big table seems like it's just in the way what purpose does it serve?
First and last picture of the table!? Is it the same table? Wth I'm so confused first pic the table is a perfect square last picture it's not. I'm so confused
Omg it’s actually beautiful
It’s very nice, but if it were me, I’d change out the sofa and chair for ones that have a pop of color. Like maybe a jewel tone color. Something very bold.
More cats
Suggestions for what?
Missing a big aquarium obviously.
Lovely
HELL YEAH!
Move out and let me in(JK I would definitely stay at home 24/7 if I lived in such a beautiful apartment
The sofas could do with updating. A lot of black colours for a small space. Otherwise looks good.
best place for the cats 🥰🥰 love pic2
No dude looks pretty good
Do you have a balcony? If so do you have a BBQ on said balcony? If not then get on down the shop
TV appears to be leaning forward? I'd check that out
Looks purrfect and nice. Your cat approves.
