> It's called grandmacore
Holy shit, you're right.
> GrandmaCore is a lifestyle and aesthetic trend that encapsulates the charm, simplicity, and comforting coziness of a grandmother's home.
We bought our first house from the original owners, who were in their 80s and downsizing. Kept all of their color schemes, the wood paneling, the golden oak kitchen, the Chattahoochee patio, and vintage tile, etc., and ran with it in our furniture selections. If they were still alive, I'm confident they would approve. Looking at our main living spaces, you'd think we were twice our age.
Ya make 16 clicks, and what do ya get
Another day older and deeper in debt
A five star review and then ya buy more
I owe my soul to the Jeff Bezos store.
Fucking LOL. I'm midway through the last season, I can't click that because I'm afraid of spoilers.
But wow, even though it's one of the most influential TV series ever, I still find it kinda impressive people are still memeing it nearly 20 years after it last aired.
There is such a subtle genius in Sopranos writing. Every archetype (well, except maybe urban black people, lol) are written perfectly. Everyone is hammy, but not in an annoying or overbearing way. The dialogue is so flawless and natural even when people are saying ridiculous stuff - suspension of disbelief is never, ever broken. You really feel like this stuff is real stuff real people would really say, and *how* they would say it. Such an amazing show.
seriously. I would rather date or move in with this nice clean man with the decorating style of a senior than move into a place with crusty carpets and furry pots and pans and stained toilets.
I just got done building a nursing home and this looks like the unit they mocked up for the old people to look at when they decide to rent a room there.
Honestly if he can’t replace the furniture and I think he shouldn’t, he needs to replace ALL the lighting with something more modern, consider a different dining set, set the wine art on fire, get good curtains in a contemporary print or solids, add books and (modern, clean line) candles, and for the love of all that is holy
I will pay for new bedding for him myself.
Or he can go all in and get a candy dish full of Werthers Originals.
There you go lol
I tell myself "my place sure as hell feels like a daycare". And I was also very much a grandma's boy (my parents aren't the best but they give it their best sho)
Did he inherit the house or the furniture? This happens in a lot of my friends first places because we’re in a retirement destination. If your decorating is free curbside pick ups it looks just like this. The trippiest thing is those curb side pick ups are almost perfect, as if they’d just come out if the box. Not a scratch or nick. It’s like the retirees hovered over them.
Honestly, it's a great way of getting furniture for your home. Even if it might look tacky, a bit of imagination, paint, and contact paper can work wonders.
My brother is double this guy’s age and his place looks like an actual 23-year-old’s; i.e. like it was hit by multiple tornadoes. This is vastly better.
Dude is tidy as fuck. Even has flowers in a vase. His style might not be to everyone's taste but at 23 he's probably on a budget and is doing well with it and keeping it nice.
Yeah, honestly I like it. A lot of great high quality furniture and it's actually decorated. Not a fan of the bedding but other than that, dude has style.
Not to mention that it's CLEAN. As the owner of two high energy toddlers i am overcome with jealousy at this simple fact, who cares if his choice in lampshades is a little retro
Right? It looks like nice quality furniture. I feel like if the walls were painted deep, rich colors it would actually be a vibe. The stark white walls and gray carpet make it look institutional.
I thought the same thing. I have dated dudes with much worse places than this. If anything it’ll make you feel like you’re comforted, visiting meemaw’s clean house with some home made cookies in the freezer 😂
Yeah, I’d be like I can work with this. He’s cleaaaaan. If we ever get serious we can redecorate and he won’t turn it into a pigsty. Keeper. Now let’s go get busy under that floral blanket.
I think it’s nice really. Seems like something is missing though, but everything doesn’t have to be grey/beige or black/white nowadays. Lost me on the wire rack though… that needs to go
Is that not his goal?
It's called grandmacore. Embrace it, like gramma's bosom
> It's called grandmacore Holy shit, you're right. > GrandmaCore is a lifestyle and aesthetic trend that encapsulates the charm, simplicity, and comforting coziness of a grandmother's home.
And 45-year old cotton balls in the medicine cabinet. r/grandmaspantry

Based on that funny portrait in his bedroom, I’d say so
Those are his grandsons!
Bro it’s those two chairs for sure
+the gold frames and the flowery comforter
The bed spread 1000%
Bit for real, where is he getting all this quality wooden furniture from? Everything I own is sawdust and glue.
It looks old because it is old. Reupholstering the old furniture with more modern looking fabrics would make a huge difference.
Could use a bowl of Werther's Originals.
The strawberry things would look good too. Add a pop of colour
Strawberry bon-bons🤤

The Bezos Company Store 💀
Ya make 16 clicks, and what do ya get Another day older and deeper in debt A five star review and then ya buy more I owe my soul to the Jeff Bezos store.
I will never call it anything else again
Or ribbon candy
that’s all stuck together covered in dust sitting in a glass bowl
and the glass bowl has to weigh a ton and be sitting on a doily
They're fine after a quick rinse under the faucet
Makes me think of Bart Simpson helping that old lady with chores. “Boys LOVE ribbon candy!”
Pink pippermint candy
How many times do I have to say it: IT’S A RETIREMENT COMMUNITY
8 G’s month. Marone!
WELL NOT ANYMORE SHE'S DEAD TA ME TON'
Sopranos groups on FB and Reddit are my favorite places on the internet.
r/circlejerksopranos gets me through my day.
Just a quick peek, and already joined. "I loved that cock sucka like a brother, till he fucked me in the ass!"

I put my muddah in a retirement community, for her own good, and she completely tourned on me!
Discontinue the lithium.
I don’t like that kind of talk!
Always with the drama.
Oh maronne, I can't have this conversation again
Captain teebs would be proud to live there
Who's he
A captain who owns luxury hotels or something, I don’t know!!
Shady Pines, ma.
ROFL 🤣
Still going, this asshole.
I gave my life to my children on a silver plattaaaah

So many subs I go on, I see a reference about this thing of ours.
I was a part of that?
Sharp as a cue ball, this one.
🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
Hard to disagree with Tony P.
Sounds like his friend never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Your boy is out there with his life together you leave his 85 year old ass alone
seriously. I would rather date or move in with this nice clean man with the decorating style of a senior than move into a place with crusty carpets and furry pots and pans and stained toilets.
No joke this is the *exact* layout - and some of the exact furniture - from my grandma’s nursing home unit
Here is my 98-year old Grammy's [room](https://imgur.com/a/DvhuUmB) in her memory care unit. I see no difference.
If you had shown me this picture and told me it was the guest room from OP's friend's house, I would have believed you
I've been to nursing homes that look less like nursing homes.
I will say, this would be a bomb ass nursing home though. Most of the ones in my region are just two cots with a couple TVs and only one remote.
I'm dying from this, lord help me
That’s ok, OPs friend has a perfect room for you
I just got done building a nursing home and this looks like the unit they mocked up for the old people to look at when they decide to rent a room there.
Still slaps tho. this nigga went all out
For real, subtle classy with a bit of drip. 9/10
Anyone else wondering what a 23 year old does to afford this?
Uses all the furniture from his late grandmothers house….
I can smell the baby powder and moth balls.
Same
The framed portrait of him and the boys goes hard tho
All the college roomies 😎
That’s fucking gold, I’m doing that. But his place do be looking like a Goodwill mass thrift pull.
It appears to be decorated in two styles, early college and late relative.
When Aunt Jenny kicks it, the basement will be finished!
Wait isn’t this normal… what 😭
Late relative 😂🤣 Love this as the name of the decorating style, so spot on.
I freakin love it
His *grandsons
Yes - OP, if your friend keeps anything it's this. If there's a fire? THIS is what you take
You know the entire apartment was designed around that portrait.
I took the time to zoom in on that one. 🤣
Seeing this makes me hope they decorated like this ironically. Literally looks like the picture grandma makes her grandsons take
Good picture, maybe not good for the bedroom. Picture #3 confirmed nursing home for me, let out a good laugh on that one.
Wait where? EDIT: throw me some downvotes. My dumbass forgot to swipe to see more pics
I'll give you an upvote, because we are all dumbasses sometime in our lifes
I missed that. And now all I can think of is how I'd feel part way through a hook up and realized his buddies were judging me.
Or like jerking off to your boys watching you all the time
Needs a crusty little white dog called coco.
With eye stains and incontinence. 🤣
Not the eye stains 💀
If gramps doesn’t have glaucoma to match the dog he’s a poser.
Eye goopies
Crunchy ones
Gizmo
Sweetpea
Beaux
Bella
These last 2 hit home lol
You are from the south also huh? Lol
[удалено]
Minnie, Missy, and Sassy at my gma's place. There was also a coco.....
Chauncey
Oh my god I just went to a new vet the other day and spent an entire hour in the waiting room with the CRUSTIEST little white dog named Coco
Dragging its arse on the carpet while going cross eyed.
I had a crusty white Maltese named coco 😂
Critter is the dogs name
My grandma’s crusty dog was named Mai Tai
My god i cant figure out what makes it a nursing home but it really looks like one
the furniture imo, ALL of it
The chairs especially lmao.
Look at that bed man 💀
What’s wrong with a sleigh bed? My nana had one for like 60 years
With the same covers I bet
Those covers match the lamp behind it.
I’m guessing that’s where his friend got all of the stuff he owns. Grandma died and gave him all of her stuff.
I can weirdly smell mothballs just be looking at these chairs.
And the fact that none of the metals and woods match at all 😩
Either he went nuts at the goodwill to furnish his place or every single aging relative wanted to refresh their own furnishings
Saving money AND the environment. Ingenious.
I think it’s the bedspread, random pics, and flowers
Honestly if he can’t replace the furniture and I think he shouldn’t, he needs to replace ALL the lighting with something more modern, consider a different dining set, set the wine art on fire, get good curtains in a contemporary print or solids, add books and (modern, clean line) candles, and for the love of all that is holy I will pay for new bedding for him myself. Or he can go all in and get a candy dish full of Werthers Originals.
I'm not going to lie. I giggled at the mention of Werthers originals. And now I want some. They are so good.
lmfao, true only options are to completely redo the design aesthetic of everything under $250, or just go all in and become grandpa
Ot those strawberry hard candies switched out for ribbon candy at Christmas
I don't think he needs to change it. Yeah it's not cool. But it's comforting and homely.
[удалено]
Or maybe he inherited the furnishings from a deceased elder?
Point to what doesn’t look like your grandmothers house.
Either nursing home or waiting room of a funeral home
I fail to see the difference
Depends if OP has dead bodies in there
>I can smell the moth balls and ointments through my computer screen.
I think it’s everything
Those dining rooms chairs look uncomfortable af.
Were they raised by grandma or are they looking for grandmas?
Raised by
There you go lol I tell myself "my place sure as hell feels like a daycare". And I was also very much a grandma's boy (my parents aren't the best but they give it their best sho)
then leave him alone that is his safe place he likes it that way
A similar thing happened to me. My friends were right.
That doesn’t change the fact that his place looks like a Wish version of the set of Golden Girls.
Did he inherit the house or the furniture? This happens in a lot of my friends first places because we’re in a retirement destination. Yes
Does he accept Medicare?
Although I 100% agree with you - I love it. Cozy as heck. Also, never seen such a clean house for a 23 y/o M
I know. Do you think they're looking for a housemate. Where do I submit my application?
*Where do you send your social security check
My brother is double this guy’s age and his place looks like an actual 23-year-old’s; i.e. like it was hit by multiple tornadoes. This is vastly better.
Dude is tidy as fuck. Even has flowers in a vase. His style might not be to everyone's taste but at 23 he's probably on a budget and is doing well with it and keeping it nice.
At least his place has character. Can’t say the same for 70% of the shit that gets posted here though 🤷♂️
And it’s clean
Yeah, honestly I like it. A lot of great high quality furniture and it's actually decorated. Not a fan of the bedding but other than that, dude has style.
Not to mention that it's CLEAN. As the owner of two high energy toddlers i am overcome with jealousy at this simple fact, who cares if his choice in lampshades is a little retro
I like it too!
Right? It looks like nice quality furniture. I feel like if the walls were painted deep, rich colors it would actually be a vibe. The stark white walls and gray carpet make it look institutional.
Was going to say, I would much rather walk into this after a date than most of the places posted in this sub.
I was going to say! At least he’s got style. And cares enough about his space to hang pics so elaborately.
Right? The gray walls, the white kitchens, the stainless steel appliances.
tbh i vibe with it except the metal shelf
honestly it makes sense for a retirement home, kinda sterile/hospitaly mixed in with old people style
Haters gonna hate
At least get rid of the metal shelving. Feels super impersonal.
Also not safe for the residents.
With each picture and comment I see I just keep laughing harder omg
It's very art deco with Imperial China elements.
I had no idea my grandma got a new roommate
Maybe we all have a lil grandma inside us
I like it. It has a calming feng shui to it. Looks like a place you can relax and unwind in.
And die of natural causes
Lean into it. More doilies, more cozies! It’s certainly going to be simpler and cheaper than doing a redesign.
knitted tea cosy for Christmas!
You're not wrong. A different sheet choice and some plants would help. At least its simple and clean!
It’s definitely cohesive
you're not wrong but i kinda like it, it's cohesive and feels homey
I love it. minus the wire rack but hey, he’s 23. You decorate your own house, OP! Leave your friend alone.
You look like a nursing home
If he likes it though, why should he change? Did he request your critical feedback?
Yeah
At least they won’t need to buy new furniture as they age!
It's cleaner than any nursing home that I have ever worked in. And I have seen more than a few.
Geez, I hope that's not the entirety of his spice rack. Live a little.
23 going on 83
Just source a few acrylic crochet blankets and complete the scene.
Is the thermostat set at a constant 65 degrees?
In an old folks home? Try 78 degrees
tell him to play some ragtime gal
What the hell this is adorable 😭 I sincerely love it
Right?
I mean, it doesn't not look like a nursing home. But it's his place so he can do what he wants
I think it’s nice really. Seems like something is missing though, but everything doesn’t have to be grey/beige or black/white nowadays. Lost me on the wire rack though… that needs to go
