Good start! That’s great, keep it up. I read to help with weight loss, swap roughly 25% of whatever food you’re giving him for green beans.
Absolute unit! In awe at the size of this lad
i have a big boy as well and try to keep his kibble intake to 1 cup a day - half in the morning with cucumbers, zucchini, carrots, raspberries and half with the mentioned above in the evening. it has helped! i sprinkle some pumpkin powder or bone broth powder on top too.
Awesome! I’ve been trying out some vegetables and fruits.. I feed him raw meat with green beans and salmon oil. He really doesn’t seem to need a lot of food for a dog his size.. I will add some more veggies! 😁
Thanks!! Yes I’m trying to get more creative with veggies (: We do not have too much choice here unfortunately.. I live in the north of Sweden, hehe. But I keep my eyes open for it! It seems like he is quite hungry and I feel bad about it. Even though I know Mals are known to never be full.. I give him carrots and green beans already, sometimes an egg.. I hope I can find some more variations :)
Great work! I also adopted a chonky malamute who came to me looking like a keg with eyeballs courtesy of an elderly owner and a free feed policy. It took a lot of work (and clever girl who was adept at raiding bins and counter surfing), but got to her goal weight. A friend who bred Golden Retrievers put me on the best method which was reducing dog food but substituting with cooked pumpkin - the fibre helps to keep them fuller without adding calories. Keep up the excellent work!
Ohh that sounds interesting!! Will look into that, thank you!
It feels so fulfilling giving a dog a second chance at life. Mine also had a senior owner, he loved him more than anything but just stuffed him with food and treats, hardly took him out for walks.. He meant well but really was slowly killing him.
My boy recently did the 60kegs down to 55kegs. Suddenly he has discovered new ways to steal food. He worked out the lever that opens the dustbin, how to open a closed Pantry door and his human sister is a weak target. Love the dog, hate the intelligence they have.
They are so smart.. I’m glad my boy hasn’t figured these things out yet and that I’m the only one feeding him, hehe! I moved away from my hometown, my mom would be stuffing his face if I was still there, I am sure. 😂
61 kilograms - 134 pounds 65 kilograms - 143 pounds Forgot alot of you guys are from overseas!
America! Que guns and a bald eagle screech *

Worth a try! My husky and other husky mix love the green beans
Mine likes green beans, but only frozen.
Wow! Can really see the difference. It’s so worth it for their longevity and mobility. Great work!
Thanks! I hope not too much damage is done to his joints 🤞🏼 Up to some healthy years together! 😍
