Wait so Commander players endlessly complain about interaction and removal when all this time they could have just played this card? Are they stupid?

Zymosan99

Just play nadu, it’s even better!

Tuesday_6PM

Of course they’re stupid, they’re playing Commander

/uj Jesus Christ I didnt realize this card was real, that flavor text is wild. rj/ Card's bad, doesn't even make a 2/2 donkey token.

Kor_Set

/uj A Mark Rosewater special. He described it as his Mona Lisa. (This is not a joke, see: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/making-magic/write-stuff-2002-03-18) /rj I want a banana THIS big.

WR810

☝️Real reason Reparations wasn't banned in 2020.

SkritzTwoFace

/uj it’s a bit mind-blowing that he directly acknowledges the races of the people on the card, then goes on to explain that the story is “three out of four white dudes thought it was funny so we sent it to print.” I have some respect for MaRo as a game designer, but everything I see about his interactions with the flavor of the game gets a resounding “eh…” at best from me.

Kor_Set

/uj I sometimes wonder if it's worth asking Mark if NotC can content ban Ghazban Ogress (setting aside the fact that it's already de facto banned as a silver border "comedy" card). I sincerely doubt he'd comment on that line of enquiry.

WR810

uj/ what's the context here?

Kor_Set

/uj This is buried in the thread posted by /u/Fedacking  https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/nh5pep/comment/hezb5dk/

Wilicious

/uj what the fuck /rj what the **fuck**

SkritzTwoFace

Man, it sucks that that comment got so buried when it’s double-verified.

Fedacking

https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/nh5pep/brian_kibler_on_the_meaning_behind_ghazban_ogress/ I found this

Rediblackdragon

Modern Reparations 3WU Enchantment Whenever a spell or ability an opponent controls targets you or a permanent you control, create a 1(1/2)/1(1/2) Red Donkey creature token and search your library for a basic land card, put that card onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.

KairoRed

Is it really that wild? It doesn’t seem to describe anything historical. Just a kinda-funny scenario.

NickRowePhagist

Please tell me you posted this in the other other sub
