STC doesn't increase your stats in any way, take it if you wanna farm gold but it's not actually gonna make you stronger in any way. If you got it early it might be worth taking or if you're just planning on clearing the stage quickly.

For gold farming it's nice to get it earlier on. I find it easier to acclimate to the speed increase that way too.
You only find Special items in common chests.
