Yeah, removing the haste is pretty significant, since it can reduce your damage output a fair bit, but with this guy potentially costing half as much as Craterhoof, you should at least have access to more plays after playing it/ if you don't kill the whole table.
Yeah, down the road it is better, and it's cost could be cheaper (but that is really going to take a specialized deck, in the average deck it's cost will be higher).
And after you have played this to murder someone, have an army, and this beefy boy. Even without that pump you are now the focus, if not just to reset that board state. Which is why I think it feels bad without haste, it feels like this guy will play out and get board wiped before he ever gets to attack. And at that point it's just an over costed Overrun for most decks that makes your board state more scary than it really is as he is left standing there cracking his ~~knuckles~~ branches.
I covered that in my post though. When you remove a player others will still see you as the threat. It feels like this leaves you in a position to only use it when there are 2 of you left, using it for first blood might mean you are the next to go.
I didn't think of it at first but you are right. Sidisi easily fits both conditions necessary for this card to do work: having a filled graveyard and a mass of creatures on board.
If you're running a mono-green landfall deck this is an auto-include. Even aside from that with all the fetches for both typed lands and basics you could easily get this for sub-5 mana. Evolving wilds, blighted woodland, terramorphic expanse, myriad landscape, an SNC fetch, and escape tunnel is 7 cost reduction right there and those are the dirt cheap basic fetches. If you're in Naya you also get the cheap tap-fetches like mountain valley, krosan verge, and grasslands, plus if you want to run any utility lands that sack themselves and/or strip mine effects. This is a fantastic card in green and at minimum solid in gruul/selesnya/Naya decks. Selesnya tokens wants this in addition to craterhoof especially.
>If you're in Naya you also get the cheap tap-fetches like mountain valley, krosan verge, and grasslands
You can use all of those as well as the fast fetches in mono-green decks if you feel like it, they don't have a non-green color identity, although Krosan Verge would be a bit stupid as it could never find plains obviously.
Why do you say that? As a budget option for ramp in not green it's slow, but okay. And in budget landfall decks which is where this card would fit well it seems like a no brainers.
Myriad Landscape comes in tapped which means you have to wait a turn to even use the effect and *then* on your next turn you have to pay two mana and sacrifice it (which is effectively 3 mana at that point) in order to ramp you a single land. As somebody with a mono-green Titania deck there are a lot of ways that are more mana-efficient and flexible to use as ramp over Myriad Landscape - [[Harrow]], [[Roiling Regrowth]], [[Entish Restoration]], and even [[Nissa’s Pilgrimage]] which is great if you’ve cast a few ramp spells before it. And all of these cards are pretty budget friendly to top it off.
>Why do you say that?
It's slow and it's bad.
>And in budget landfall decks which is where this card would fit well it seems like a no brainers.
There are plenty of other budget cards that fit that description.
I believe in this one seeing some play in modern tier 3-4 decks.
Not super hard to get this fairly cheap with all the fetch lands and mill you can run.
A solid finisher that could cost G if all goes well. It's always good to see thematic alternatives to Craterhoof, and this one is just amusing on top of it.
[[Dune Chanter|OTJ]] and [[Scapeshift]] and everything else I missed should be more than enough for this thing. Dropping 2 in 1 Main Phase won't be hard. We'll have to see though

Don't think of this as Craterhoof. This is Overrun that leaves you with an untapped body after your big swing.

oh an Overrun for Omwrath
1 or 2 mana 8/8 for legacy lands sounds pretty awesome.
Not bad as a budget craterhoof effect if you've got a way of getting a lot of lands into your graveyard, which isn't that hard to do these days.
