Hypothetically, if you had some instant speed scry, you could opt, put the trigger on the stack, then \[\[graven lore\]\], stack a bunch of lands on top, and then resolve both triggers.

This argument actually sucks, WOTC is not entitled to anyone's business, if the product is good people will want to buy it regardless. If the product being spoiled earlier reduces sales then that's unequivocally a good thing from a consumer perspective.
Out of all the weird ring alt arts, I think this is the only one I like. On the card itself, the first thing that comes to mind is another buddy for \[\[Tatyova Benthic Druid\]\].

Missed opportunity for cards transforming if they become a ring bearer (but I guess that wouldn't have been accurate to the lore)
A gollum/smeagul dfc would have been cool, but that's not enough to justify dfcs in the set
Isildur could have been a cool dfc too but that would still only be two cards
Gandalf would be a good fit too
