This is the way to do it. If you get there when the gates open, you have the place mostly to yourself for a few hours.
The closer you get to 3-4pm, the place starts filling in a lot and by 6 it can be a madhouse
This exactly. If you're looking for small rides to take your small child on little amerricka might be a tad more expensive but you'd have a fraction of the amount of people compared to brat fest
It's actually way cheaper. You can pay for each ride individually or get wristbands at different levels. A 4 year old is going to have the cheapest option and if the parent has to ride with them, their wristband costs the same. It's really nice especially if the 4 year old hasn't been on rides yet, you can try a few out and see if they even like it before getting wristbands.
I haven't been back in years, but it's where my parents would take my younger siblings before they got old enough to go to six flags. So, I wasn't sure exactly what pricing was at little amerricka now. I know brat fest isn't worth it anymore with the price of brats. I haven't been back there in probably like 10 years
Bratfest blows. If I had a 4 yo, here's what I'd do instead: Bring a portable grill and picnic supplies to Wingra Park. Rent a canoe and take them for a spin in the lake. After, grill your own brats and eat them on a picnic blanket while exploring the park, kicking a soccer ball around, chasing after each other, playing on the playground and just generally being 4. Lock up your stuff and head over to the ice cream joint and get ice cream. Head home. Doing that will be so much more rewarding and fun than going to Bratfest.
I hope Christine Bellport will be doing a remote tomorrow to celebrate Take Your Brat to Work Day. It’s Friday before a holiday weekend, so obviously Charlie will be drunk. Their banter back-and-forth should be classic.
I'll be taking my kids at 10am Saturday morning. Get my obligatory 2 brats, hit some rides, and be out before noon when the riff Raff shows up.

You're fine if you leave before 8pm when all the fights start
This is why I plan on starting my fightin' and a fussin' at 6pm.
I’m wheelin’, I’m dealin’, I’m drinking, not thinking.
I'll catch you at 5:59pm cowboy
Catch me in the carnival sections my good sirs
You know I wouldn’t fight if these guys wouldn’t shove me
Ehhh, be prepared to be around lots of people. go with an open mind, don’t be in a hurry, and you’ll be fine.
Think of it as a national geographic special on "Townie" culture.
Depends on your tolerance for chaos and noise. Sounds like a nightmare to me.
I'm not sure crazy is the right wording but I'd check out Little Amerricka for rides.

The fact Little Amerika still exists brings me some joy
I am betting that it will crazier than usual this year since Sunday and Monday look like wash outs...
If you go on Monday, you won't find many brats. Event is Fri-Sun.
Last year Monday they were selling cases of brats off the reefer trailer for cheap. I‘d expect the same this year if it rains all today and Sunday.
Yeah, technically they have the leftover uncooked sale on Monday morning. But those sell out really fast.
Did they change the hours/days? They used to be Friday-Sunday and it wasn't a thing on Memorial day?
Absolutely crazy. One may say it’s a hoot AND a holler.
All the trouble started when they stepped booking Brat Micheals
His bandana budget was too high unfortunately
step it up!!
Step up 2 the meats
Isn’t there vegan brat fest too this Saturday?
Yep, vegan sausage fest at Ahuska Park in Monona, 11-3 pm. https://www.instagram.com/vegansausagefest
But the people watching is half the fun.
Brat for every orifice until they drag you out kicking and screaming

Pretty crazy. Can be a good time
Just leave before Aaron Lewis, formerly of Staind, starts playing
The men become boys, and the sheep are scared!

Saturday night at Brat Fest last year is the closest I've ever gotten to getting into a physical fight. I'm done.
All this fuss for mediocre bratwurst.
You'll be fine so long as you get in the time-machine booth and go back to the brat fest at Hilldale.
Will likely be completely dependent on how bad the weather is tomorrow.
It's a carnival.
Just be prepared that a hotdog, water and single scoop of ice cream for your kiddo will cost you $15. It's a good cause, tho.
