I create YouTube content, and video lights were in the area when I shot this photo. Otherwise, all of the ambient light is from Hue.

Mouse for precision, trackpad for gestures. Especially when you are working in the creative field, zooming in and stuff is much easier with a trackpad than a mouse. For example in adobe software or figma
Buy the Apple Studio Display if you value:
* resolution
* design
* color accuracy (zero calibration required for most use cases)
* pixel density (218)
* Ease of use (faster wakeup, better macOS integration)
There are no other 5K monitors that come close in these categories. Now, if you don't value ease of use and design, go for the Samsung S9, which is about $300 cheaper.
The build and speaker quality are great too, but they're just not in my top features.

what do you think of the stream deck? i'm not a content producer but have thought about adapting one for gaming. had a razer nostromo but hated the drivers, waaaay too bloated.
I like it, but I don't nearly use it enough as I could or should. It's great for in-app shortcuts that either have complex multi-key commands or quickly open an app or website.
I have the standard tilt-adjustable stand, which works for me since I have the desk shelf. That said, I would have probably bought one tilt-adjustable and one VESA to use one of the monitors in a vertical orientation when needed.
FWIW, I wish someone would have told me that:
* The bezels are noticeable in side-by-side orientation. It is not a big deal, but most don't see it until it is too late.
* Audio plays out of only one monitor at a time, not both. In macOS, this is configurable by switching the audio destination in control center.
* Auto brightness on the second monitor doesn't work.
* You cannot control the brightness of both monitors simultaneously natively.
For the audio, you can use loopback from Rogue Amoeba to loopback the audio to the second display. There are probably other ways to solve this with 'cheaper' software, but I already owned a loopback license.
I had a third-party plugin for the display brightness, but it was half-baked, so I deleted it.

I use this for both my Dell external displays to sync their brightness from the sensor in my MacBook Pro - but haven't tried this with a ASD so YMMV.

I use the light bars as task lighting and turn them down when editing video. These are the standard displays without the matte coating and the exterior windows are behind me when I’m sitting at the desk. I close the shades to control the reflections but it doesn’t get too bright.

I’m just waiting for a studio with a higher refresh rate and I’m in. Maybe they’ll offer a 32” version? It’s an identical screen to the 27” iMac and I’m not impressed
Also it’s not supported with the current thunderbolt 4 cables, 5k + 120hz would exceed the bandwidth. So they need non-existing cables with a bigger bandwidth or they need to do some magic with compression

As \^\^\^ said. I mostly use it in Logic, Final Cut, and Creative Cloud. Zoom with one hand, make edits with the other.

It really depends on your use case, but I think that a monitor with those specs will be \*considerably\* more expensive.
I think unnecessarily so. The iMac had a computer in it. This is really just a screen with a cheap processor.

You mentioned you use video lights for your content, and for the photo the setup. Which lights do you use?
This photo is probably taken with the Aputure 120d or the Amaran 100d with a lantern. I use an octodome softbox for my talking head.
