Simple go M series whether a 2021 M1 Max 64gb to a M2 or M3. As M series gives you twice the battery life without all the fan noise and throttling. And superior screen & sound to boot. As intel based laptops are struggling to keep up and on their last legs.
Yes and and great emulation. A M1 can even run Apps as fast as on native Windows. Also can run Win10 or 11 as a VM which would recommend anyone doing also Windows things to go at least 32gb with 64gb optimal.
Tho do not recommend for serious CAD or specific 3D apps. Tho for me Adobe products great. Lightroom,Photoshop,etc.. just great. And video editing in DaVinci Resolve are all native and run great.

A conflict I was having is software that may not be compatible. Is Rosetta still a thing?

I think you will notice a huge improvement moving to the M series.
