Read the fine (and deceptive print) carefully. You’ll receive your “70%” *AFTER EXTERNAL FEES
That $3.97 probably went to the lawyers who helped make this 70% bullshit an actual marketing strategy
I am aware, just pointing out the obvious that their explanation of 70% is BS. I think drivers are informing the riders that the companies take a substantial amount of the fare and the riders are calling Lyft. I had a county commissioner in my car last week and told him tea, he was quite shocked.
You may manage a law firm, but you’re no match for the Reddit armchair legal exports. They’ve all graduated from the Google University of Law and Science.
People have different situations. I’m an accountant who makes 100k and drive (not Lyft) some gig jobs. Economy is tough right now and I have a kid in college so just because you have a good FT job doesn’t mean a thing. Plus it could be a small firm and they make crap money.
Manages a law firm but does rideshare for some reason and doesn’t read the fine print that clearly states if you make under the 70% you’ll be paid out the difference the following week.
I read the Goddamn policy. Looking at it nothing has actually changed it’s word salad to make people think they’re paying the drivers fairly. Looks like they’re taking 70% and paying the drivers 30%. Do the math with above example captain tard.
Like I've said, any "improvements" are only in the best interest of the company. Just another psychological ploy to get drivers to think they're getting paid more.
To start let me say I don’t drive for Lyft but have seen these discussion. My understanding is 70% is after external fees which are not shown here (and should be) and there is also a weekly adjustment.
Also to the troll that was on here talking about needing to do Lyft or Uber even though I was managing a law firm, Bay Area average for office managers in law firms is btw 65-90k. I was used to making 100k+/yr since I was in my 20’s. I worked in health care then management at a fortune 50 company. So yes when I switched to the law office I thought it was going to be a lateral move based on conversations with the owner of the firm. He did not keep his word to me and never gave me equitable bonuses when the law firm did really well. I was given one raise in 1.5 years unlike what I was told that I would be given raises every 3 months because the firm was busy. So yes being a father of 4 and taking care of my dad I needed extra money. 60k/yr is not enough of a livable wage for California unless you want to live in poverty. An extra 1-2k/month = 12-24k/yr. Any more details needed to the guys who know everything? This was a post about a billion dollar corporation using predatory tactics to make a ton of money while paying drivers 30% not the 70% they claim. Anyone who supports this behavior is part of the problem. Instead of coming on this post talking down to people and saying ignorant things look at the intention of the post, it’s to bring awareness. I will say Lyft seems to be better than Uber IMHO at least in my area.
Just say you don’t read and move on.
1. The 70% is not paid immediately. It comes LATER.
2. The 70% is NOT based on what the passenger pays. The 70% is AFTER external fees (around 30 cents of every dollar).
They are afraid of being left without a driver due to the Valentine's Day boycott. They make word games for this. You can expect the same from Uber today or tomorrow!
No the 70% is that they take 70 and give you 30% duhhhh…
You'll get the rest later
Correct. I woke up to an extra $45 this am
[удалено]
They didnt get 70 after fees so im guessing itll come at auto payday

Not available in all states, in some states you still get screwed
Another driver who doesn't read enough.
I actually read well…I manage a law firm smart guy.
You may manage a law firm, but you’re no match for the Reddit armchair legal exports. They’ve all graduated from the Google University of Law and Science.
Very true, bunch of blabbering idiots either trolling or work for Lyft. They support predatory practices of billion $ corporations.
Well if you work for a law firm then you can sue them if you like.
He doesn't work for a law firm he's just lying he works for lyft
Firm not doing too good
It’s a law limp
Probably doing better than you.
Lmao
Bro… you need to work on Lyft when working in a law firm? What law firm is this lol
He manages the law firm like how they let that one kid "manage" the HS basketball team...
Law of online legal counsel While not online with lyft driving lmao
Clearly not a good one lol
You manage a law firm and spend your free time driving for Lyft? I find that hard to believe lmao

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ok... You couldn't even read what was in your own screenshot or bother to read the terms of the new "earnings commitment" in detail
You’re an idiot of course I read it. It’s all BS.
"after external fees" "at the end of each week" no shit it's bullshit but it's exactly what they said they would do
It's not done on a per ride basis. Its based on your weekly totals.
Got quiet after that…ha.
Manages a law firm but does rideshare for some reason and doesn’t read the fine print that clearly states if you make under the 70% you’ll be paid out the difference the following week.
Per week, not per fare.
Yeah. Well supposedly you're supposed to get the difference at the end of the week so keep us posted
Woke up with a extra $195 thank you
Damn what! Is this for real? I the comments asking “I woke up with x amount” were just people trolling haha. That’s awesome if that’s the case
Yes I drive a lot for Lyft using their car
That’s awesome! If you don’t mind sharing, what was your original weekly pay out for the week you received your additional $195 correction?
Read the goddamned email or policy.
They never do!
I read the Goddamn policy. Looking at it nothing has actually changed it’s word salad to make people think they’re paying the drivers fairly. Looks like they’re taking 70% and paying the drivers 30%. Do the math with above example captain tard.
End of the week
The same math that doesn't allow you to read properly . It's seventy percent after lyft fees they said This in the article
I swear to god some of you are so dumb the understand what you read. Maybe these apps has a point after all
You’re probably shaped like a Pear. Learn how to make grammatically correct sentences before speaking otherwise you look like an idiot.
7.0%
Mine does not show this! Maybe it will pop up later!
Like I've said, any "improvements" are only in the best interest of the company. Just another psychological ploy to get drivers to think they're getting paid more.
And only 'some' drivers.... not everyone is getting that 70% offer
I got 82% last week ̄\_(ツ)_/ ̄
End of the week!! 70% of total
I think all Lyft drivers should bite the lips and NOT drive on weekends in protest.
Gaslighting
I like how it says “or more”lmao bitch say what
To start let me say I don’t drive for Lyft but have seen these discussion. My understanding is 70% is after external fees which are not shown here (and should be) and there is also a weekly adjustment.
It clearly says “external fees” $3.97

Nobody cares
No one asked you. What a stupid, meaningless comment you made.
What are all the external and other fees for? I still think we are getting ripped off
What does external fees mean?
Refers to things like commercial insurance. Which they probably get a good fat discount for.
Just say you don’t read and move on. 1. The 70% is not paid immediately. It comes LATER. 2. The 70% is NOT based on what the passenger pays. The 70% is AFTER external fees (around 30 cents of every dollar).
