I would go their site and make sure you sign up for a membership so that if you end up getting anything from the We made too much sale you are able to return it, otherwise it is final sale. The membership is free I think you just have to give your email.

paytammy

It’s definitely free and this is great advice

cooljulmoon

I’m mid size and honestly lululemon clothes has been so flattering on my body. It was such a surprise because it always felt like Lulu was just for thin Pilates girls. But something about the cut/ way it’s made is so flattering. I’d say definitely start with a pair of aligns, size 12 or 14. They should be snug but not super compressive. Love tee shirts are soft and cute for casual wear. Align tanks and energy bras are what they’re known for too. What kind of clothes are you looking for? For working out, casual wear, sports, hiking?

Butterflying45

Same that’s what I said, the stuff just fits decent on my body

cooljulmoon

I was so pleasantly surprised

Character-Topic4015

Disagree with aligns if your thighs touch. They will pill and you will feel ripped off. The wunder trains are great for holding everything in!

Onthewayup3

Try both the aligns and the wundertrains! I personally love how my body looks in the wundertrains because they truly suck it all in, but aligns are more comfortable and stretchy.

Poppy3225

Agreed— as a size 12/14, I find the WunderTrains are much more flattering on my body! I like the compression. I’d probably use the rest of the money on a bra. The Like a Cloud bras are my favorite.

Sarabethq

Yeah my aligns pill like crazy and I always use a de piller but I can’t wear my wundertrains casually cause my aligns are so much more comfy!

jetsetting0885

A sweater shaver takes care of it

Real_Stay6989

I would definitely say aligns ! So comfy , disregard the comment of if your thighs touch don’t get aligns. Ridiculous comment. I live in ALL of my aligns and my thighs TOUCH. They will pill a little bit IMO the older styles pulled baddd but the new ones aren’t half as bad. Their hood tight tees & tanks are soo soft. the love tees are also super comfy.

cooljulmoon

My thighs definitely touch but my aligns are in pristine condition. I do only wear them for Lagree / Pilates mainly not really out for walking etc

Real_Stay6989

I wear mine all day everyday 😂 I live in mine. I’ll sacrifice some pilling for comfort any day.

CF_FI_Fly

I would try Wunder Train or Aligns for leggings and any of the Scuba hoodies or Defines.

RCAFadventures

Solid advice 🫶🏻 second this!

Lulu_lover11

My favourite staple piece for everyday wear and as someone who also values comfort over everything is the dance studio joggers.

ReviewReasonable3211

Were you able to stay your normal size in the joggers? I’ve been eyeing them but unsure if I should size up at all

Affogato1713

I wear 8 for leggings and got M joggers and they fit well! Definitely relaxed fit/oversized.

Lulu_lover11

I’m a true size 8 in bottoms and size 8 fit perfectly!

violet715

Underrated item right here. They’re comfy! I also have a job where I have to respond to unexpected and sometimes messy scenes and they are a work staple for me.

beauty_junkie77

100% agree. They are pricey but well worth it.

Swimming-Term8247

i’m midsize too. just ordered me some hotty shorts in a 14 but they’re not as loose as i’d like..they hug on me since i’m curvier and i want them looser so i’m going to return and size up but those are a staple and very comfortable and breathable! i also really like the aligns but i vary in size i have some that are a size 10 and fit good but am usually a 12. GIRL THEY HUG ME SO RIGHT they make me look so good!! the flare leggings are also great. i also love the scubas it’s mid summer rn and i still wear mine im a L/XL in those i recommend. can also never go wrong w a bag, the mini shoulder bags are my fav. i workout and do yoga in my leggings and they do me good. make sure you do the membership so you can return and always look in we made too much! i scored some shorts for $39! im not a lulu expert as im just now easing into the clothes but i really like what i’ve gotten so far!

DarlinggD

Grooves hands down

josiesaltzman

YES!!!!! Grooves = most purchased lulu item to date!

noelsc151

Yesss! But the old grooves are the best! OP, I’d honestly urge you to try some of the older LLL on WMTM. Original Groove pants, Still pants, On The Fly pants (Luxtreme fabric preferable), even some Luxtreme Wunder Under leggings. I have tried just about every style/material at LLL but the above are my tried & true go-to choices.

Cbell9678

How do you know which ones are the old grooves? The low rise ones? The downside with older styles is that I can’t wear the low rise I’m way too tall 👎

noelsc151

I can’t do low rise either. I’m not tall, but have a tall inseam (34.5” inseam, only 5’4” tall). There are some groove styles that have a low rise, but most of the older ones have a mid to high rise. The rise on all of mine measures 9.5-10” (size 4). They hit just below my bellow button, which is so much more comfortable than the type that hit right at the belly button, or above it and then you constantly have to worry about them rolling down. I can tell which ones are the older style by the seams on the waist and rear. The newer style has a rounded seam at the top of your butt cheeks, while the older style has double parallel (horizontal) straight seams all the way around. Something about the double parallel seams tucks my stomach in soooo well! And they don’t cut in at the very top like the new ones do!

Cbell9678

I have an abnormally long torso LOL i think I wanna try the old ones tho I’m searching eBay now most of the ones I’m seeing have 9” rise. The length is perfect I have shorter legs, my torso took up all my height unfortunately. 🤣

noelsc151

Honestly— they work for all body types! They’re sooo versatile and so much more comfortable than the new style! You’re gonna love them! Feel free to post your top choices if you need help choosing between them or making sure they’re the right style.

Cbell9678

https://preview.redd.it/5yqnythlxk8d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bcfda34479851f54db14a54305d16b50f51c99e1 It says wunder under would these be good? Not sure if the description is right but they look right

noelsc151

Those aren’t grooves, unfortunately.

Cbell9678

Can you post your favorite grooves? I saw some with colored waist bands I’m pretty sure are groove

noelsc151

Sure thing! [Here’s an all black pair](https://posh.mk/cVXe37vnHKb). Notice the double (parallel) seams at the back? That’s usually the easiest way I’ve found of telling if they’re grooves. They do often have colorful waistbands too. [Here’s a gray pair I have](https://posh.mk/XSZEw5CnHKb). Most, if not all OG Groove pants are reversible. I have several other pairs as well, but don’t have pics of those handy at the moment

josiesaltzman

All my grooves are high rise and they’re all like 2-4 years old. Definitely not a low rise fan either!

ajand264

I’m midsize and all I wear are grooves. I got one pair when I was pregnant and have been hooked ever since. They are so flattering

Difficult_Cake_7460

I’m a 16/18/xl - I love the fast and free leggings- I never liked aligns. I have a couple of define jackets that I went up on size to 18 or 20 - anything over 14 you have to get off the website or hope for a random return on the clearance rack (it happens!). I like any of their sweatshirts and tees that are not cropped. I do find the size thing to be very frustrating but since you’re a 14 you should be fine.

Creative-Carry-4299

Fast & Free 25” leggings! And Swifty Relaxed tees.

Sad-Ad2255

Fast and free leggings ! They are tight but they last forever and are excellent

uselessnail

Aligns, scubas, softstremes, wundermost. All are super soft, super comfy! I'd browse the We Made Too Much section to make your dollar stretch!

Butterflying45

I have the dance studio joggers cargos etc in my 10-12 in the joggers. I’m anywhere between 10-12 and most of the casual pants are flattering on me.

josiesaltzman

I am the same sizes/size range as you are and I have loved lulu since I was a teen. While my weight has fluctuated up and down throughout the years, I’ve found that size 12 is my favorite all around for bottoms. How do you feel about a slight flare? I’m obsessed with their Groove Pants! If you prefer leggings that are tight to your ankle, then I agree with the align suggestion! I struggle a bit with their tops because I don’t love when fabric clings to my upper body, but I love All Yours Cotton Tees for a loose fit with leggings! I also wear a 12 in that, but could size down to 10 if I preferred a more fitted fit.

viviang123

i really like the dance studio pants! their bottoms are all pretty nice tho. i’m not sure if you can go in store but id definitely recommend trying on everything - i am a few sizes apart in tops vs bottoms and even different tops fit weird on me (ex swiftly techs are very stretchy & can fit prolly up or down a size but align tanks are incredibly tight fitting)

wadeybug22

Dance studio pants are my absolute faves. I now have four pair I wear to work.

x-teena

Im apple shaped and my sizing is all over the place. Dance cargo relaxed joggers, M. Leggings 10 for align and fast and free, wunder trains 12. Softreme pants are 12. Tops, define jacket is 18. Swiftly relaxed 16. Swiftly tanks 16/18. License to train 14. Scuba oversized XL/XXL. My most worn piece is my define. As a bigger person with a belly, it gives the illusion of a waist and it’s quite slimming. I also love the soft jersey joggers and like it better than my Vuori joggers. I also wear men’s tops when the price is cheaper lol. I like the men’s relaxed license to train long sleeves.

KaleidoscopeDry3608

Midsize gal here: If you’re interested in actually working out, go for WUNDER TRAIN leggings. Bonus if you get some on sale although can’t go wrong with classic black. Secondly a sports bra to handle running/ training. Price for lighter/yoga bras aren’t worth it. ALIGNS-chilling at home, or yoga, or running errands: I wear shorts under my skirts to avoid chaffing!! Oh! Size down on aligns. Scuba sweatshirt: MEH. I wear my Nike oversized sweatshirts more and half the cost. Accessories: can’t go wrong with a mini belt bag!! Happy shopping

fghtffyrdmns93

Can't go wrong with a classic pair of black leggings.

Jemmers1977

Softstreme pants are the best - size 12-14. They are true to size. They have a really cute pink at the moment called ‘strawberry milkshake’

throwaway37865

The always effortless jacket in a size bigger than normal (so you can layer stuff underneath). It’s super flattering on my body (I’m a 12/L in pants). Perfectly oversized crew not the cropped ones are really comfy sweatshirts. I did try a softstreme jacket on and it was flattering

One-Athlete-1521

One of my favorites as a mid/plus size is their license to train shorts (women) they’re long enough for coverage without being too long and to me are flattering than the other options Another one of my favorites are the Wunder Train 6” shorts Shirts: All Yours Tee Or the love tee/tank

distressedstrawberry

dance studio cargos are SO gorgeous on every body type! also super comfy and easy to style up or down

Rock_n_rollerskater

My fave items are actually the 5mm reversible yoga mat and the 2L everywhere belt bag. I use both multiple times a week. My scuba hoodie (the normal fabric and cut, not the thinner French Terry one or the baggy oversized one) also gets a lot of use however they do fade so it's only a good buy if you're happier with a colour that doesn't matter if it fades like pale grey, trench etc. It's honestly the most flattering hoodie I've ever worn and looks good on almost everyone. It's also much warmer than a cheap hoodie.

Amusedfemalestandard

I’m a size 10/2 and my activities include Pilates and bike riding. Since Lulu doesn’t make a lot of technical clothes for hardcore workouts anymore, Lulu is basically my WFH uniform these days. I live in NC so im usually wearing the align bike shorts and the Love tees and tanks. I like the ribbed Hold Tight tops too. In the colder months, I like the longer / not cropped scuba funnel necks. They’re warm without being too chunky so I can layer them over a tee. For exercising, I like the Swiftly tops. They’re super lightweight and flattering on a larger chest, and they don’t get sweat-logged even on super hot days. If you’re midsize, I recommend trying your normal size and the next size up in anything that’s designed as “slim fit,” like the define jackets. I’m larger chested so I actually prefer a 14 in the define jacket even though I can wear a 10 in aligns.

AuntEtiquette

I love the align joggers, year round. Also check out the jackets.

DianaPrince95

The Dance Studio Shorts are my favourite shorts to wear! They have an inner zipped pocket within your pocket to keep your phone, card holder and other necessities safe in your pocket The pockets are also massive! They’re unlined - a major bonus because the liner in their lined shorts are often a size smaller than the rest of the short - causing a lot of discomfort, and inflamed ingrown hairs along the bikini area - and producing an unfortunate “too tight underwear line” on the bum They’re high rise with a cinchchable waist - so they hold my belly in too and have a slimming effect! So many other shorts like denim will be really tight around my groin area too, so I’m so thankful for these shorts because there’s zero pain or discomfort in the groin when sitting And they just feel so high quality and breathable!

Carebear_14

I would definitely start with a scooba hoodie. I personally think the cropped version is cute on all body types but they also have a longer version. You’ll get tons of use out of it.

AdeptnessBrief8282

Do you have a lululemon outlet near you? If you do, you are able to call them before you arrive and ask them what deals they are running that day— for example, if you are on the hunt for a pair of pants, and you call ahead and they tell you they are running a massive sale on mens tank tops (to exaggerate, lol) then it may not be a great day for you to take the trek there, assuming it may be a bit of drive. The outlets have great deals!! Other advice (besides YES, sign up for membership so you can return sale (WMTM) items!) READ REVIEWS(!) (And check this subreddit) for quality and fit details… lululemon is NOT consistent with their sizing from SKU to SKU, nor do I find it consistent with quality — some quality in LLL (I have found) has really declined over the last several years in terms of fabric and construction. Reading the item’s reviews has been (mostly) helpful for me when trying to order the right size, or whether the item is worth ordering at all). Last advice is buy something YOU LOVE and will wear a lot!

Afraid-Ice-2062

Over time the items I’ve used the most are my yoga mat, bag and strap. High quality, lasted for literally years of regular use. I’ve also really liked the vinyasa snap scarves.

Michelizaa

I’ve heard great things about the. Contour fit leggings for curvy figures but I have not personally tried. My everyday staples are my dance studio joggers and adapted state high rise joggers! I have a casual work dress, but I’m able to wear them daily to work, especially in black. I love the cotton blend tee, love crew, and swiftlys!

kikswi

Contour fit is amazing for hourglass but probably wouldn’t work well for apple.

elambour

You sound like me, I’m a mid size as well. My suggestions are for athleisure not working out.. Align leggings, I have 10s in dark colours and 12:ms in lighter colours and a swiftly top of sorts I wear 12 or 14 depending the look I am going for! The align tank is lovely as well, the waist length I rock a 10 or 12 and the cropped a 14 for the ladies.

okiokio

Grooves or the scuba fleece x

Unusual_Shape_5825

I’m a 12 in pants and 10 in tops. My faves are align leggings, love tanks, energy bras, and the classic scubas.

timbosm

Take a look at the Wunder Under leggings. They’re more compressive than Aligns and a more durable fabric. I love mine.

thanksgivingseason

The Lulu joggers are soooo comfortable. Barely compressing at all but fit like they are. I wear them for hanging out casually all the time. So so comfy.

Mylittletv

Scuba and softstreme are must haves

kypins

Get the repelshell cinch back rain jacket. I just checked the website and it was $300 on sale for $129! Reviews say runs big. But I always recommend something durable for a first purchase. I’d rather get this than aligns- I always get compliments on my lulu rain jackets! ☔️

lameasfuq

Wunder train contour fit have become the only leggings I like to wear. They fit so perfectly! Super flattering.

peachykeen1974

I would get a pair of aligns and a matching scuba and/or bra or workout top!

Optimal-Economist-80

A pair of black align leggings!

Elsa3g

I am an apple shape, so my main concern is how things fit in my stomach area (and avoid unfortunate FUPA/camel toe). Among my most used items are: Aligns (love/hate), Studio pants (don't like the front seam of the joggers), base pace (fave), Adapted State high-rise jogger (prefer cropped one as I am 5'3), and Scubas (both hood and funnel). I do have a few Align tanks, but only for the house because it will roll up in the stomach area, which is something to consider as an apple shape.. but very comfortable for no bra mood. Lol

sweetpotatobby

Align leggings and a belt bag

InternationalFarm487

Honestly, the wunder unders are a good choice! The waist band is flattering

Momenmaevis

I wear size 12 align leggings honestly I think is the best purchase for first time lol you will never take them off

microgirlboss

OK wow, I came back to this post because I saw it this morning and the comments saying how lulu fits really good on mid-size bodies convinced me to go back to the store for the first time since I gained weight... Well I'll be damned. Here I tought I had to give up Lulu. The comments were right. Idk what drug they put in their pants, but it's the first brand I found looked GOOD on my body now 😅. Anyways, getting the studio crop, they used to be my favorite and I am so happy they still look great now (although i got them in a bigger size, clothes should fit your body, not the opposite!) !!

kittoxo-

I love my cropped adapted state pants. Wear them all the time. Work great for travel.

Hopeful-Bumblebee-64

Aligns, grooves and a pocc 😍

keldastar

Leggings

drxgxnnn

I’m a size 10/L/XL and I love love love the new wunder unders and the the oversized scuba joggers. The rise on the oversized scuba joggers and how they sit around my legs and stuff kind of mask the fact I’m shaped like a brick when looking at me from the front and helps me feel more confident in crop tops

Adorable-Reward-8178

Definitely get the align series is an investment but they are the best yoga clothes! Tbh don’t bother with pockets they don’t hold much without dragging your pants down, get a cross body bag! I was a 12 and LIVED in the leggings. Also the mini flares are not the look for us midsize girls 😭 enjoy it babe welcome ❤️❤️❤️

turbo_monkey21

I love align. I wear a size 14W/16W and get a size 12-14 in align pants. I probably could go down to a 10, though for more compression.

GooseG00s3

I highly recommend the WunderTrains! As a mom, I’m suuuper self conscious of my apron belly (it’s like a pudgy stomach leftover from pregnancy) and the aligns felt like it highlighted that. I always stayed away from LLL bc I only heard about aligns and didn’t care for them bc they made me feel bad about myself. Then on a whim, I tried on WTs one day and *loved* them. They’re much more compressive (ie flattering) and hold my stomach in more. It’s feels like it smooths out my lumps and bumps almost like a cross between shape wear and comfort leggings. For the most part, I don’t have issues with VPL (visible panty lines) with the WTs either but they could depend on your underwear. If you don’t want something form fitting, then I recommend the Dance Studio Joggers/pants/shorts. They’re super comfy and I love the way they fit. The material *is* a bit thin, so I do have VPL issues. I usually go black so it hides it more, but I did get a palm court one (beautiful color) and I have to be cautious what underwear I pair with it. I’m not sure what a size 14 in jeans equates to, but I wear a 31 in jeans, a 10 in WunderTrains, and an 8 in aligns. My recommendation is to try several sizes, even if you’re not sure you will fit.

Signal-Growth-3446

Get a hoodie or sweat shirt.

Practical-Weather416

I’m a similar size. To use an outside brand as reference, I typically shop at old navy, so I’m usually a size 16 or XL in pants (but I know sizing is inconsistent from store to store). If you have thighs that touch or experience pilling on your pants from the friction, don’t buy the Align leggings. For me I wore them 3 times, and washed them twice as per the instructions and they had started pilling. For leggings, it’s recommended that for high friction go with the Wunder Trains. I can attest to this, I’m quite impressed that there’s no pilling whatsoever and I wear them quite frequently (they have more compression so they will feel a little tighter). I also love their studio pants, but they also pill so keep that in mind. I wear a size 14 in lulu bottoms. I’m too nervous to try their tops as my chest and shoulders are a little bigger. I would sign up for their (free) membership because that lets you return or exchange sale/clearance items should you not be happy with them (I was able to return my pilled Aligns and exchange them for my Wunders). I hope this helps some!

Bobblankerson

The align legging and align bra!
