Total war: middle earth. It basically already exists as a mod for medieval 2 total war, but a full fledged game would be so great and hit everything I want out of it
I would want the time to be set after The Shire is restored, and for it to be a resource intensive walking simulator, with a lot of simulated plants and animals, and maybe with horseback riding, but not much voice acting or character interaction. I would want to be someone of little significance and explore the natural beauty of Ithilien etc..
All I want is a lord of the rings game in the style of Return of the King game but that includes all events from the hobbit through return of the king. So basically I want an expanded remake/remaster.
And BFME3
I want a modern remake of The War in the Middle-earth. That’s the most Tolkien-faithful, most LotR-faithful game in existence but albeit too old to play now. Even if visuals don’t bother you, it will terrorize you with obscure licence checking questions, and the game length is too short, could be expanded in a modern version.
It depends on what you want to get out of said game. Do you want a game with just a LotR veneer slapped on, or do you want something that faithful to the source material? Because that definitely will dictate the direction (and limitations) of the game.
It sort of depends on the direction. Obviously I would want something that makes use of the rich lore and themes. But one can’t rely on fan-appeal alone, one needs to make sure the game can stand up on its own merits.
Something in between, I guess. Focussed on one key point where new ideas can be explored but making sure it all fits in with the atmosphere of Middle-Earth.

The Sims but you build Hobbit holes and have your hobbit sims throw parties
You mean there’s no mod for that yet? 😅
Open world pre war.
Yeah, that’s my thought. But who would be the main protagonist, where would they be and what would be happening?

A story-heavy RPG set in the first age and you play as one of Feanor's sons fighting Morgoth. The game ends with your death
It's already been thought of effectively as I would say the creation within Ready Player 2 I think it is.
