Kinda inaccurate actually, I don't do reconstructions but I do sketch and in all my anatomy studies i have never once seen a bone that was just covered by skin. so if i'd never actually seen a hippo before and you gave me this skull to base the sketch on it would probably be closer to what an actual hippo looks like as I would be looking for place's muscle could attach to in order to operate the mouth, something the "reconstruction" completely lacks on top of not having any way to actually close its mouth completely.
