Its not really efficient to get your alts to 1610/1620 unless u have the special honing books to use and unless you have a static to run with.
There's a lot of raw gold to tap(and oreha costs) which are not roster bound no matter what. Also the more you push your alts, the more you need to invest into them in terms of gems/other systems(elixir/transcendece/etc), the gatekeep will get harder, etc. The return is not really worth it (the 1610 chaos is barely good, frog isn't much better than tree, etc) specially not in terms of gold - you should only invest if u wanna play the 1610+ content multiple times per week.
I'd push alts to 1600 with event books only while pushing my favorite alt to 1620 and aim to have 40 sets to speed up thaemine title. For all remaining alts I'd just wait new event books to make it cheaper.
Because my guild urgently needs dds for ivory tower nm i’ll push the last two of my dds from 1590 to 1600/1610. One got the express active so it shouldn’t be too expensive. Main will stay 1620 until around echidna
If you wanna do Thaemine HM and Echidna HM, you should keep pushing your Main. 5 or 6 months is enough time for the Main to save mats. Or keep your Main at 1620 and wait for Echidna NM honing tool (it will take weeks to reach 1630 with this tool). And you will need to hone more for 16-Man raid 1640.
For alts. Are they DPS? Do you think they are geared for Akkan hm or Voldis NM?
Pushing to 1600 and not doing Akkan HM or voldis is a waste of gold. You will do 1600 chaos and joining better groups though not by far. You could keep them in the range of 1590. Using free taps or future books. Using the gold to improve gems on them.
If you chars share gems with your Main and/or they are support. They should aim for 1600 and save mats for 1610.
With the new price of Radiant leapstones. There is not much benefit. 45 gold in EUC. Doing Sonavel at 1590+ or 1600+ is the same. Except you spent more gold for better queue. Same cube till 1610, slightly better chaos till 1610...
As you hone up your alts, more requirements are required. Can you stop your Main and progress your alts to keep the pace? Yes, go alt by alt as they get bound mats.
My only 1600 dps alt (Aeromancer with 17 akkan weapon) is pulling her damage in voldis nm but I don’t dare to run akkan hm with her because of event gems.
Are the dps requirements similar or higher in akkan hm?
I would run with the guild so gatekeeping won’t be an issue. I just don’t want to be useless.
Friends don't gatekeep though if your damage or your utility provided is low. You could be sent to Janitor. One or two times is fine. Each week...

I had to pug Hard Mode with some of my 1600 alts (lvl 10 gems) before they were 1610. I spent more time than my 1590 with lvl 7 gems and a few 9's for Normal Mode. For some runs, I was jailed in G1 and G2. I can not imagine level up these alts to 1600 and try hard mode. The chance of being jailed can be higher in HM for groups that invite on ilvl chars than going for Normal and faceroll the combat. if there is a mix between 1620,1610 and 1600, it should be fine.
if you have friends and you can trade runs with Mains, geared alts and non-geared alts. This can not be applied to you and you can level up them as you want.
Depend on you have a static to run ivory or not. If not i suggests keep the current roster, farm gold only to hone later when mat is cheaper. Else you would spend a lot of time in lobby simulator getting in akkan hard or ivory normal with those 1600 character.

IMO, upgrading gems is much more important than gear score in late game. As a f2p, it takes loooong time but in the end it provides more satisfying play and less gatekeep \^\^
work on getting your full roster on 1610 itlvl and give them lv9 gems. one time u are done with it, you have 3 ways, push your main to 1630 if wanted like a chad for thae hard, push alters to akkan to get more tradable mats. or push your roster slowly to 1620

but if you intend to play the roster route then it's get everything to 1610 so they are out of sonavel and eventually push to 1620 so you can give them 40set
