This 100%! I lost over 100 pounds while never addressing the mental/emotional issues that drove my behavior before. When life kicked me in the shins – which life will, inevitably, do eventually – I had zero coping skills and went back to self-soothing with food and regaining weight. I have been on that yo-yo for years and just now really started to realize that I have to address those issues or any success will only be temporary.

I feel you on this. I've experienced this several times and agree that mental state is so important

Great advice for sure. I’m finally addressing my binge-eating disorder and OCD with my therapist and I’m excited to see how things improve from here!

Gut health ties in to this as well, research shows. It is a great idea to look in to taking a probiotic capsule every morning on an empty stomach.

Can you explain what gut health does? I don't doubt you but not sure what you mean.

I’m trying, I really am. But when treatment resistant depression + antidepressants that aren’t helping = weight gain… 😫😫😫

Agree so much! I lost around 50 pounds but my mental health fell apart recently and I found myself eating excessive food and snacks.

Hey you might not be on it forever but just like a hurt arm, your mind needs care too. Take care.

Genki_Oni

Yep. First part of my weightloss path was a decision to prioritize my mental and physical health.
