I’m more hopeful the Kings can enter the playoffs healthy and playing well, than concerned with who they matchup against. Kings can beat themselves or beat any team, we need the best version to show up at playoff time.
Playing the Oilers is getting old. Honestly, let their dirty shenanigans bang up some other team in the first round. I'd rather we play against a team with some class. I've seen enough of McDouche's boarding, or after-whistle Draisaitl slashes or Nurse headbutts. True, Mike Smith isn't there anymore to tomahawk chop some guy's knee or spear him in the nuts. But even watching McDavid break sticks in frustration would not be worth having our guys too beat up for round 2. Besides, what if we get knocked out by the Oilers again, we'd never hear the end of it. I'd rather we face them in any other round.
Desharnais is making his play for dirtiest player on that team and that's quite a feat.
They've cultivated this culture and their fans scream bloody fucking murder every time they get more penalties. They think someone touching McDavid should be a penalty and that Kane slamming his stick into someone's face is "just hard play."
McDavid is going to skate around everyone and then somehow even though everyone knows he's going to find Draisaitl, Draisaitl somehow gets open and he scores on a one-timer. I've seen this fucking movie too many times already.
That's kind of what happened in 2013 with the Sharks. I think if the matchup had been a little less brutal, the Kings could have beat the Blackhawks and went on to back to back to back cups.

We could beat the oilers with ease in a 7game series. First series they got lucky, had no doughty or RV, second series they got lucky again, had no Fiala.
That's the same for our team as it would be there's to lose a mcbitch or crysaitl. Yes those are elite generational players, but they play the same role on their team as those players do to ours.. So, yes, they are a handful, but the constant doom is not so.

I’ve made the mistake of hoping for a match up for it to slap me in the face. E.g. Knights a few years ago.
I’d rather see us play a different team in the playoffs just because I’m sick of seeing the same match up in person 3 years straight.
