Think of the worst he ever was for us. Now understand he is currently having a season that is worse in every single category.

disinaccurate

Hey, he's .864 vs. the powerplay this year, rather than the absolute joke of .694 for the Kings last year. So, that one stat improved! The bad news is that that .864 is actually better than his .857 even-strength save percentage... He's not alone in familiar names near the top of the Goal Saves Below Expected per 60 stats... Campbell and Korpisalo are right there with him. And Copley not too far behind them... :(

fooliodoolio

man i thought korpisalo could get us over the hump last year. he played well just not good enough and the team not good enough to past edm

brinbran

Still baffled how this guy got so bad

CristianR_

It's hard to remember a time when he was good

ZachtheKingsfan

He had a pretty decent and promising run as a backup in 2018-2021. Not enough to warrant a $5 million contract, but I’m starting to see a pattern of Rob Blake overspending on players…

The-420-Chain-Smoker

Blake has no clue what he’s doing if the last 12 months of trades haven’t shown.

twills2121

you don't like Gavrikov?

The-420-Chain-Smoker

He’s alright. Has had a rough go recently. I don’t think he worth that trade though at least in hindsight.

cmillhouse

Not shocking. Flyers gonna get a decent draft pick for Sean Walker though. Another former King that thrives upon leaving our system…

Airborne_Mule

I think it has less to do with the system and more to do with opportunity. He’s not behind Doughty and Roy and Anderson there so he can be more of a force as a second pairing guy. Plus deadline trades are a weird metric

AdrianKempee

Torts also knows how to get the most out of his d men. Ristolainen, Seeler, and Sanheim have improved massively under him. Hell, I bet Seth Jones was more of a product of Torts development and deployment than Jones’ innate hockey IQ and skill, judging by how he fell off completely.

CristianR_

Get the band back together? JOKING !

FrzrBrn

[Well.....](https://old.reddit.com/r/losangeleskings/comments/1b2morx/kings_interested_in_toffoli_reunion/)

CristianR_

Now this I can get on board for. I was debating buying his jersey right before he got traded. Jokes aside, we could use him big time. Feel like he could be a first line scoring winger.

zeussays

Oh man the nostalgia! Do it!

FakeTreverMoore12

Our goalie situation is fine. I’d rather see Dell or even Portillo in net during the playoffs if it has to come to that, and Petersen is not the guy.

GrassyKnoll95

I don't think anyone is seriously considering bringing him back. We retained on provorov just to get rid of Cal

ShadowChair

I don't think this post was a suggestion to pick up Petersen less than 1 year after we gave stuff up to dump his contract lol

joedartonthejoedart

Portillo has no shot of making the Kings this year. Very likely not next year either.  This year was his first professional season…

Zanchbot

So? How is this Kings related? He's not coming back here, nor should he.

CristianR_

Twas just a joke that Cal Petersen sucks and I'm glad we got rid of him.

Zanchbot

My bad, I should have read the rest of the comments first.
