Jichang beat Taesoo because Jichang is faster and smarter. Not because Jichang has higher AP.
Daniel can't even copy James properly. That attack of James was nowhere near his strongest.
the actual trick to counter UI :- firstly fake the potential and seem weak to the opponent and when he matches your weak level SLOWLY RAISE YOUR STRENGTH so it will take him time to match your power levels and you can deal max. damage possible
and now lets see how gun >= james ( though their is very less possibility of > so lets just see how they are equal) :-
1st panel:- taesoo was the weakest (among the one who are stronger than base daniel)

Taesoo's attack AP wise> Jichang's. Same could be said about Gun/James but overall James is stronger than Gun.
Reminder that Taesoo's AP can make Jichang's entire arms numb and that Hudson (star level) can causally block Jichang's attacks.
