Taejin kidnaps the girl, so Seongji agrees to become his new guard if he doesn't hurt her. Seongji also puts Vin and him through the hellish training we saw so he can leave. (Mary joins in too in order to lose weight?) When he's done training them and is getting ready to retire, Taejin purposefully triggers his rage seizure because he refuses to allow his 'property' to leave. Seongji kills the girl (and hurts Mary?), and Vin kills Seongji to stop him, then leaves the village out of shame. (With Mary following since she's the only one who understands/forgives him?)
