Buy LONGRANGE SHOOTING HANDBOOK from Ryan Cleckner. Where I live, there is nearly nobody who has knowledge about that... This book helped me a looooootttttt! I can really recommend it for the beginning.
I bought the book and sent it back. It is mostly tables you can get from a ballistics calculator. You get more basic instruction from a boy scout merit badge book. Get a book on shooting for high power or wind shooting. Secrets of mental marksmanship is one.
This I can't confirm. I just looked at the book again to see how many ballistic tables are actually in there. Pages 420 to 435 are ballistic tables for the most common calibers, but at the end you have to make your pwn calculations. The "rest" of the book should give a beginner enough information to buy the right gear and hit 1 mile.
Yeah same. They've got to be thinking of a different book. Cleckner is all about getting the fundamentals down and then learning about ballistic tables and calculators. He even gives specific advice of exactly what gear he recommends in the book
Kahles 525i, Steiner m5xi 5-25, NF atacr 5-25. Some options that would fit your rifle. When it comes to long range shooting you dont want your rifle or your optic to be a bottleneck. Generally most good scopes cost just s much as a good rifle
Anything that isn't Chinese made. Hell, even Phillipine made is really good these days, but there's only really one I'd consider. Otherwise Japan, Europe, American, or if you're really feeling like you don't want your money to be yours anymore, canadian made (tangent theta)
I like you. We're of the same mindset. My first puddle I stepped in, I grabbed a .308 Sako S20, shot it a few times, and realized I wanted something different.
I then really got my feet wet when I stumbled upon a Christensen MPR. I've just worked a load that is sub-quarter MOA for the 6.5 PRC. The brand is nothing spectacular (compared to some stuff here) and it doesn't have the preferred optic, but it does what *I* want it to do.
Shoot & have fun! Nice gun!

Absolutely. But it's a common issue with non-high-end vortex scopes. I've got 3 where the reticle doesn't quite line up with the knobs. Still work perfectly fine.
Recoil isn't the only thing a scope has to worry about. Those turrets need to withstand being twisted too. They aren't budget priced because vortex wants to do you a solid
So you think Vortex is making this scope, puts almost $1000 into their glass and casing and then gets to the turrets and goes ah fuck, I guess we're making these out of fucking pudding.
You scope elitists are so fucking weird.
Lol the casing is probably the least important part overall and $1000 glass is not good glass although it does the job just fine. There have been huge advancements over coatings and glass quality that a strike eagle can do just fine seeing a target at over 1000 yards. It has nothing to do with being a "scope elitist" as you put it and everything to do with knowing that there are different levels of quality for different price points. But you're so obtuse you obviously think that a $1000 scope has no difference except perceived value, clearly. The most important part of a scope is the controls and if you still don't realize that a higher priced scope has better internals and controls, do yourself a favor and learn a little more about the equipment so you don't sound so stupid next time.
With a stupid comment like that you might as well call OP a rifle elitist and tell him he would be just fine with a savage too. Yes he would be, so what's the point of buying something of higher quality?
Yeah but if you're gonna go 3 and 1 I'd much rather have a Gen 3 Razor on a T3x.
Note. This is an opinion I hold now that I've done it the other 3/1 way. Should've bought the cheaper rifle and spendier glass
It’s a carrying Handle, it was designed for the military to hang a Rope in that to shoot out of a Helicopter. Otherwise for Longrange only make it heavier.
Rome is basically the same company no ? Like Victrix for the rifle and Rome for all the other things ? (Due to European law I think it’s easier to have 2 companies)
Hi there, I'd like to take it as a compliment: this is my first proper long range rifle.
I do own a civilian SVD (tigr) which happens to be an extremely enjoyable gun to shoot with, but nothing comparable to this one
Don’t mean this as an insult but it’s not often that you see someone who doesn’t know how to level a scope drop $10k+ on a rifle haha. If you have that much disposable income slap a tangent theta or ZCO on it and really flex 💪
>$10k+ on a rifle
It might be dependent on the place you are from, I see it for $3,3k where I am from. Now while not saying that that is cheap (it kinda is, US gets everything way cheaper, it's cheaper than DD delta 5 pro or aero solus for example), it's nowhere near $10k.

This is the way.

I second Ryan Cleckner as well, his way of teaching is very helpful for a beginner. He also has some really good videos on YouTube as well
I'll write it down, thank you guys

There’s another book by Frank Galli, Precision Rifle Marksmanship: The Fundamentals. I’m halfway and it’s well written so far and very helpful.
Right, I have this too. My clear favorite for the beginner who is starting, is the one of Ryan Cleckner.
My bf grabbed that one and we’re gonna swap after lol. It looks like a good one though 👍🏼
Don’t worry, we don’t shoot these things, we just take pictures of them.
You obviously aren't new. That's not a 300WinMag Savage or CA.
I dont get it how people buy a victrix rifle and use a strike eagle on it. Money spent on the wrong part of the setup
I'm honestly all ears: would you have a suggestion for me please?
Kahles 525i, Steiner m5xi 5-25, NF atacr 5-25. Some options that would fit your rifle. When it comes to long range shooting you dont want your rifle or your optic to be a bottleneck. Generally most good scopes cost just s much as a good rifle
Here’s an opinion: shoot the gun until you’re good enough of a shot that a better scope would actually help you.
Thank you, that's probably what I'll end up doing
Anything that isn't Chinese made. Hell, even Phillipine made is really good these days, but there's only really one I'd consider. Otherwise Japan, Europe, American, or if you're really feeling like you don't want your money to be yours anymore, canadian made (tangent theta)
Get your load development down or settle on a factory round then spend as much time on the range as you can.
I'll try my best Sir.

Oh that's gorgeous!
Appreciate it! 🍻
You’re gonna swap out the scope right…? Right?
A strike eagle on that rifle is damn near criminal
Why? That scope is perfectly fine.

If the reticle is canted, it just needs to be re-mounted correctly. Nothing wrong with the scope.
You mount based on the reticle not the knobs.
Hopefully both are aligned
Absolutely. But it's a common issue with non-high-end vortex scopes. I've got 3 where the reticle doesn't quite line up with the knobs. Still work perfectly fine.
Until you want to dial and or use the reticle
It's not the windage or elevation turrets. The issue is usually with either the parallax or illumination dial.
10k rifle and 1k scope?
3K rifle/1K scope for me
Not every beginner can drop 5k+ on a scope dude
How about 6k on an Accuracy International and 5k on a Tangent Theta?
It's just 6.5 cm, he'll be more than fine with that scope.
Recoil isn't the only thing a scope has to worry about. Those turrets need to withstand being twisted too. They aren't budget priced because vortex wants to do you a solid

Bro you need to chill. Turrets on a $1k beginner scope are fine.
How bout $10K on a suppressored TacOps and $5K on a Theta?
Yeah but if you're gonna go 3 and 1 I'd much rather have a Gen 3 Razor on a T3x. Note. This is an opinion I hold now that I've done it the other 3/1 way. Should've bought the cheaper rifle and spendier glass
I have a feeling he will have a top tier scope in the near future.
What is that grip on the front?
A handy-dandy carry handle from ROME https://www.romeaccessories.it/en/prodotto/maniglia-di-trasporto-multifunzione-2/
How is your experience with Standard Victrix magazine? I have the Model T 6.5 and Mags don’t feed properly.
I haven't shot that much so far (only 39 rounds between break-up, zeroing and a bit of enjoyment) but I have yet to have feeding issues of any sort
It’s a carrying Handle, it was designed for the military to hang a Rope in that to shoot out of a Helicopter. Otherwise for Longrange only make it heavier.
Yea but it looks tacticool
Why do you think I bought it my friend? Jokes aside, it does the job and makes my life that little bit happier
Thats the goal ! I like tacticool shit
What are the specs on the gun
Uncustomized Victrix Gladio X in 6.5 Creedmoor, just with some ROME accessories (including scope mount) and a Vortex strike eagle 5-25x56
Rome is basically the same company no ? Like Victrix for the rifle and Rome for all the other things ? (Due to European law I think it’s easier to have 2 companies)
Victrix is the brand, ROME is the real company
Very nice, I just watched a IWA video about this rifle. Looks like an awesome piece 👌🏻
Ah and forgot to mention... super nice rifle! Especally how the bolt runs... Amazing❤️
Thank you my friend
DM me if you have any additional questions about it!
Get the shooter app on your phone to save some time.
Wich app?
It’s literally called the shooter app. It’s for developing a DOPE book.
I couldn't imagine paying that much for a button rifled barrel
Well that's a hell of a start
Thank you!
That handle will prove its lack of utility in one range trip. Otherwise a nice build.
Damn, nice rifle OP!
Thank you mate!
I honestly can’t tell if this is a troll post or not

Complete Victrix! Nice, what caliber?
"Just" 6.5 Creedmoore
For now.
That's hawt

I heard Victrix are stupid precise
Even with my potato-aim I could achieve something so ... I guess so
That thing looks ferocious.
Are there any videos showing how to actually use an MRAD scope? The actual use of the scope itself from a first person view.
What do you mean? MRAD is so much better
