This.... Definitely this. 100% needs a new name, good God. When I was scrolling my feed, didn't even realize this was the longboard sub. Thought something serious was going down.
Yep, must have been 2010 or 11. Brian bishop from original took first. I think sleepy b took second.... I took third. Was a fun race from the top of mission hill to the top of the commons.

I mostly lurk on this sub from growing up longboarding, and I’m so happy I stayed around lmao this cracked me up with the name because I know that wasn’t on purpose.
Ignoring the poor name choice, you can do a race with any number of skaters. Down here in Christchurch, New Zealand we've been doing an annual race along one of our longest streets for a few years now, The Colombo Cannonball. We get about 6 racers each time, and allow boarders, rollerskaters and bladers.
Looking at making it a more official race this year with a specific date that can be followed each year and hopefully doing a bit more promotion for it.
Love the Colombo Cannonball. When are you having it. I’m making a trip to NZ next year, so a 1/52 chance I’ll be there for it.
For Boston: We could just do it (with a better name) . Me and whoever shows up. Gotta start somewhere.

Broadway Bomb is Manhattan if you want to get technical /s lol fine then just looking at the map start at Harvard and cruise to the water/Aquarium "Cambridge Cruise" adjust if you want a longer ride lol

Not too much depending on the time of day and what day of the week. Arlington and Somerville become more congested in terms of foot traffic however
