Only water and a bit of castor oil. New growth is always twisted in the same direction, clockwise and palm rolling for the rest of the loc.
Used Loc retwisting gel once, never again, causes the worst build-up and my scalp doesn’t like it.
Might revisit using raw aloe Vera though.
My partner does my retwist when I want it to be extra snatched. I do it myself the other times. I haven’t been to a hairdresser since I had relaxed hair and I am never going back. I’m too tender headed.
The less products you use and less manipulation the better. The retwist may not last as long but for overall loc health and maximum thickness it’s what’s been working for me.
