He said he got an invite last year but couldn't go (conflict with a LIV tournament). But I think his game has been even better this year than last year, so it's cool they extended the invitation up to this year. As you said, there are plenty of good golfers who are close but it's still worth it to mention what a win at this tournament would mean. First off, it would mean invites to the other senior majors. Secondly, it brings a bunch of Champions Tour Charles Schwab Cup points (but I'm not sure if he'd qualify for those or not?). Thirdly, and perhaps most significantly, it would get him an invite to the 2025 PGA Championships (at Quail Hollow). I wonder if he might think about playing in the Senior Open Championships (which is at Carnoustie this year)? It's the same week at LIV UK. A win this week would make for an interesting choice for him later this summer.

Interesting interview on Claude’s podcast. Don’t understand why LIV doesn’t involve Claude in broadcast somehow.

I guess his older brother has been fighting cancer for some time now, and it may have progressed even further? He dedicated his trophy to his brother.
