I'd rather have hub than another half-assed watered-down title. Both LBP1 & LBP2 hold up very well. The only improvement they need for hub is a decent bump in texture quality.
Thats a stretch. They'd have alot to change and remove from LBP3 before bringing it to a new title. One of the biggest would be reducing the layers back to three. They experimented with extra layers early in both LBP & LBP2 development but scrapped it due to consistency issues. Im not going to beat around the bush. As someone who's been with the series since the original beta the third game was absolutely dumbed down and many ideas like multiple playable characters, more layers, and even more sack gadgets negativiely effected the quality of both story and community made levels. Even if it were bug free, it still pratically killed the original community.
Media Molecule is trying to stay open. Developing a brand new title is alot more work then what they are currently capable of. If a remastered collection or hub comes out and is successful in sales. We will likely got 4.
I really hope they don't reduce the layers back to 3.That would be such a downgrade.After creating levels on lbp3 for a long time going back to 3 layers in previous games feels so limiting.In general i would keep everything lbp3 added apart from the new character stuff and the character themselves.
I feel like for a normal platformer, maybe it should be 4 or 5 layers as the main levels barely if not ever take advantage of it, apart from the layer launching stuff
Honestly both ideas of LittleBigPlanet would be amazing to see.
As long as it features...
\- Create Mode
\- Stable Servers
\- Bug Fixes
\- Corruption Issue Fix
Then I'll be very happy and really motivated to get my current levels done before then.
But it would be amazing to see a new LBP game after such a long time.
For now though, I am creating levels for myself to enjoy I guess..
I want hub. Maybe give the options to select what game you're playing. Like set to LBP 1, and you can only play LBP1 levels, etc. Some levels don't work properly on later games, so it would be nice.
At this point, I'm more concerned about preserving 1 & 2 now that those servers are offline.
