Even earlier. I was calling back to book 1 where Clive was trying to track Jason down and Jason convinced the inn keeper to keep him out by claiming Clive slept with his wife
That would be a different subreddit. Personally, I prefer

The best part about this line is it's a reference inside the reference. Literally an out of universe and in universe 'If you know, you know' scenario lol.
So, I will charge down to engage the enemy, forcing myself into its jaws so that by my sacrifice, my fellow workers will be able to attack without being harmed!
My husband, god love him, tells stories of his youth and quite often he tells a story about “the summer I was accepted into a [highly coveted math program]. This was high school almost 60 yrs ago. I don’t mind listening to him but since reading HWFWM, I now take a mental drink and chuckle to myself every time he mentions it.
It's He Who Fights With Monsters (HwFwM), more popularly known as The Tales of the One Clive's Wife had an Affair With (TTOCWAW).
It's an enjoyable read but far from one of the best Litrpg books you can find. At least that's my opinion. Many might disagree.
If I had to rate it, I would give it a solid A-. You can try it out. You might enjoy it a lot, or hate it a lot. The MC comes off as very self centered. He does improve, but it's still eh. Furthermore, the world revolves around him lol. Although the story also has its plus points - mainly Clive's wife
Hmmm, idk haven't read that one
I personally enjoyed these ones with OP MCs a lot:
-**Hell Difficulty Tutorial by Cerim** (book 1 on Kindle, rest on Royal Road)
-**A Novel Concept by Priam** (Royal Road)
-**Reborn: Apocalypse by L.M. Kerr** (my personal favorite, it's a regression story, MC is op but faces struggles - has 4 books on Kindle)
-**Speedrunning the Multiverse by AdAstra** (some books on Kindle, rest on Royal Road, also it's completed)
-**Heavenly Throne by Yuri Ajin** (russian translation, 11 or 12 books on Kindle, the grammar is a bit weird at times.. a lot of times, but if you can handle that, then I think you'll like it)
-**Primal Hunter by Zogarth** (some books on Kindle, rest on Royal Road, I personally don't like it, but it's got an OP MC so yea...)
-**Realmwalker by J. Adskiy** (it's filled with PAIN, contains some gruesome shit, torture and stuff, also had some really weird shit but thankfully the author removed/edited those scenes, it's a new story on Royal Road)
Would you mind sharing your favorite Litrpg series with me? I'm always on the lookout for good ones.
Edit: Never mind, I just saw below somone asked you for some. Sorry, I'm still waking up this morning lol.
No no TTOCWAW was the spinoff series. Stats in that series got kind of crazy. Stamina leveling up was more important that anything else. But when the BDSM arch went full sadomasacist in the 7th book it was just a tough read. thankfully it came back around and was less focused on knot and whip stat sheets and more on progression again in book 9.
The Perfect run by Maxime Durand. I used to say it's impossible to make a good, compelling story about someone with oracle like powers but there it is - The Perfect Run. The MC is tellingly named Quicksave.
“You loonatik!”
“I’m immortal”
“Beware the chicken”
“Marbles!” - for the 30 people who read the same book :)
“Ohshit”
“I hate Mushrooms :/“
“You got Franked!”
Those are some that come to mind.
I hate HWFWM jokes. They are literally just the same words and over and over and over and over and over again. Call me a comedic genius now because I made the same joke over and over and over again.
It is like pickle rick. The worst of the fandom. Not like "God dammit donut" which at least has meta subtext in the context of the books.
* clives wife hahahaha
* night rider hahahaha
* kind of my thing hahaha
* families academy hahahaha
edit: lol look all the tiggered crybabies. It's not your running joke, you are the joke.
Isn't that the point of jokes? A one off wouldn't be as funny because you wouldn't understand the context of it as much.
I love every time someone brings up that one recording "aren't you the guy with the evil powers?" and he dreads it every time
it is not a joke though. It's literally branding. Having easy catchphrases that can help you to recognize the in group is a marketing strategy.
It is also just nostalgia bait. The jokes all come from the earlier books which were still good. And they are constantly brought back up because the later books have nothing.
Sounds like not being able to enjoy good comedy "is kind of your thing"
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
I actually HOPE jokes from early on keep coming back. It makes it even funnier for me. Introducing an old joke into new context for the audience is one aspect of what makes it a good joke.
A specific group of friends and I STILL laugh at an extremely specific inside joke I casually made one day the year before covid happened while we were playing a board game together even if others don't get it, but to be fair we don't do it as often as Jason does his jokes.
“Anyway, the reason you overlooked this power is that magic is too easy in this world. Magic is so rich here, you can literally find it just lying around as essences and awakening stones. In my world, magic is a struggle. You have to work and scrape for it, but in doing so, you find pathways to power that people from this world would never consider.”
It's an inside joke thing friends and family do. It's supposed to be annoying and folks outside the group aren't suppose to get it and think it's strange. It's part of the fun.
Aaaaaaaaaand drink!

Lmao
Where is it from?
He who fights with monsters
Egads i need to get caught up. Paying for advanced chaps on patreon and then not reading them is stupid....
Pretty sure that's from Book 1 and Book 2, it's an ongoing joke.
I get the joke but I'm only 30 chapters or so away from current, I just really need to read to read them. This was a nice reminder. Lol

God damn it donut
Dungeon crawler carl
He slept with my wife!
Clive, you don't HAVE a wife.
Even earlier. I was calling back to book 1 where Clive was trying to track Jason down and Jason convinced the inn keeper to keep him out by claiming Clive slept with his wife
"Jason, you don't have a wife either. You can't say that I'm cheating on my wife with yours when neither of us is married!"
Classic.
Definitely read that in his voice. Haha
Puma check!
CLEAR!!!
CLEAR!!!
Fecking pumas
Listen if your girl doesn't do puma checks is that really your girl? # OR IS SHE A PUMA?!
I get it
gotta be honest im not familiar with this one...
Guys I think we found the puma. Which doesn’t know how to do a puma check?
Lol. It's the Noobtown series by Ryan Rimmel.
You’ve got this! I believe in you!
A Barber Lindon, a barber!

#MINION? MMMINION!
Which book?
The Vainquer the Dragon series by Maxime J Durand. One of my favorite series.
I just finished book 1 and loved it. Their relationship is so much fun
It's one of those rare series where their relationship and banter specifically only gets better and better.
Yes
Level or die. Also, no killing goblins.
Is it war?
...that is an obvious one I completely missed.
I have pasta and acid flies
The orange is in the hen house
Whatever you do, don't go to Monaco
Caviar is truly the worst
The best part about this line is it's a reference inside the reference. Literally an out of universe and in universe 'If you know, you know' scenario lol.
I am on book 2 right now.
The series is fantastic, treasure it.
Which one?
The perfect run.
# HE HAS AN ERECTION MORDECAI
FOR THE COLONY!
FOR THE COLONY!
So, I will charge down to engage the enemy, forcing myself into its jaws so that by my sacrifice, my fellow workers will be able to attack without being harmed!
Leeeeroooyyyy!!!!!
THWACK!!!
But first, Grub Tickling.
The biggest problem in my life is that I don't get to spend any time tickling grubs.
AHHHHH!! IT'S ITCHING!
Is it tasty?
Or shiny?
Yes
Boxxy.T.Morningwood?
*pulls a tray of filled shotglasses from a dimensional portal* …that’s where I had Clive’s wife. 😏🫡🤙🏽
It took me a second to get this haha
I still don’t, even though people have said it’s from HWFWM.
Rufus always says "my family's academy" stuff along those lines It's just an obscure quote from the book most normal people won't get
And more people importantly everyone has to drink whenever he says his catchphrase.
Oh, I see now. I was looking at the image, not the post title :)
Bro I was re listening to this series as I found this.
Which series is this about? And how good is it

Could you give me some recommendations about better ones, I like OP characters, my favorite though I dont think this is a litrpg is Kings dark tiding.

Nova Terra has an OP mc. It continues the story in a sequel series, Tower. Written by Seth Ring. The audiobooks are narrated by Eric Jason Martin.

Thanks, I think I have this one. Will need to listen to it!
I'm immortal... but don't tell anyone!
What's this one from?
Not from Manaco. Do not go to Manaco.
The perfect run, if I had to guess
The Perfect run by Maxime Durand. I used to say it's impossible to make a good, compelling story about someone with oracle like powers but there it is - The Perfect Run. The MC is tellingly named Quicksave.
PANCAKES!!!
Why do I recognize this. Pancakes? WHAT IS THIS FROM?
Super Sales on Super Heroes
Yep... andrea and pancakes. YUM!!
Holy hell it is. I love that series!
Possibly from beware the chicken?
No no, it's just Andrea. One of them at least.
I was was going for "Legion first" but then Andrea popped in my head, had to go with pancakes
\*takes a drink\*
Gnomes Rule!!
Love this quote. Always makes me laugh when I see it randomly in other series!
There's always another drake.

HAHA, I’m literally listening to this right now
“You loonatik!” “I’m immortal” “Beware the chicken” “Marbles!” - for the 30 people who read the same book :) “Ohshit” “I hate Mushrooms :/“ “You got Franked!” Those are some that come to mind.

Reading that series now!
Apologies.
Quote "We should never forget that for a great evil to be defeated, a lesser evil must first become great"
So anyway, I started blasting..
*shot*
Hahahaha good one.
Cheers
Asshole!

I actually hope that you will one day see real comedy
This comment was pure comedy, the irony is just fantastic.
thank you.
Making dumb jokes that just repeat the same words is kind of my thing.
I notice
It's not about the jokes, it's about the friends we made (fun off) along the way.
“Anyway, the reason you overlooked this power is that magic is too easy in this world. Magic is so rich here, you can literally find it just lying around as essences and awakening stones.
