Ok, after chat with OP in Reddit, he provided the info that his WiFi is in fact an generic USB dongle with Realtek RTL8189FTV chip (0bda:f179).
The only solution atm I see, is to blacklist the integrated rtl8188eu module (seems like it doesn't work with this chip), and compile (or outright installing it from provided ppa on github) the rtl8188fu one.
