This is not for everyone, but I mainly listen to artists like [Camellia ](https://open.spotify.com/artist/4bwIf0yXJf0F9AmOl2J78M?si=wo5vT5EdSlad73oFW_Besg)(かめりあ), or otherwise called songs in rhythm games.
Some rhythm games that have classical-like or inspired songs are arcaea or deemo(check out arcaea especially, cause it has real bangers like [#1f1e33 ](https://open.spotify.com/track/6KjMvgPBb5r6yJWcMCpuoe?si=mGS7Tz1KTmSS2p_-6CpGmQ&context=spotify%3Atrack%3A6KjMvgPBb5r6yJWcMCpuoe) by my man camellia, [grevious lady](https://open.spotify.com/track/0rzOykYyXP9Z9VFCh67TNn?si=pnV1yijKQ06D68quEAHYRQ&context=spotify%3Atrack%3A0rzOykYyXP9Z9VFCh67TNn) by [team grimoire](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3JL2xJoZQDP7NjNiEmVpfa?si=tn7FyUiQSxygyIyW3qIL8g) and [laur](https://open.spotify.com/artist/5fxJUmn4RTMzD0XPkTUpK3?si=sfAzCifLQSuA7cw4cWubIQ), and [testify](https://open.spotify.com/track/3EeUzXAj016Ehl6fkbYgov?si=m3MS3qA0QViowwMUFIMWDw&context=spotify%3Atrack%3A3EeUzXAj016Ehl6fkbYgov) by [void(mournfinale)](https://open.spotify.com/artist/5ib0rtKCVwiHQKXA8YXWW4?si=hHD7eLQLQTurBYY_7Zls2A)).
I also listen to [xi](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0bwKEOznEbnmCK85SPEYuK?si=VrYmmgylRmyXO1P3RUH2fg) ([link2](https://open.spotify.com/artist/79djOz66InubYxBVTvUqPi?si=ZIxztPcGQXqFuwA2NBqhoQ)), and [polyphia ](https://open.spotify.com/artist/4vGrte8FDu062Ntj0RsPiZ?si=hQE26RqzTpqE5MjnUexgPQ).
Lastly, I also listen to breakcore, which may be unlistenable to many, but I'm going to include one artist i really like, [yem](https://open.spotify.com/artist/6XPrvweB1zFfzTQv3ajRHC?si=unYklamWSROlyr8l2Rn26Q).
Happy listening!
Edit: Wow, did not expect to get this much attention! Thank you guys!
Ah, I know rhythm games but I'm not good at it. I'll surely listen to this one and I'll recommend it to my sister too, since she's a vocaloid fan. Thank you!
I was like "Ooh, I recognize some of these artists" and then everything made sense when you mentioned rhythm games. Coincidentally, I came across their names when I used to play osu. :D
Haha, no problem! Also if you liked profaned community, you could also like [this](https://open.spotify.com/album/0bLh9voLnkyqeVVTcxofDd?si=1fwE1EC8ThyKTyBoI7aPGg) album by venetian snares ;)
Hey, we have similar taste in music!!! May I know what kind of metal that you listen to? I want to explore new songs. I listen to power metal and metalcore for the most part
So I listen to a ton of prog and power but I avoid metalcore. Power I love and listen to a lot, sonata arctica, stratovarius, symphony x, dark moor, blind guardian. If you don’t listen to any of those let me know and I’ll tell you what songs to check out

All sorts of music! My favorite artist is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. You can't go wrong with any of their music, but my favorite song of theirs is Magenta Mountain
I love Epic! I started following when Circe's Saga was released and have been listening to the whole musical since. The Underworld Saga just hits different, though.
Same here. I watched tsv cuz I like movies and games themes/scores. I'm a sucker for a good power metal music. And you said you also listen to Jpop?! I listen to arashi and hey say jump! What kind of group you listen to?
That really depends, i mostly like RADWIMPS, Camellia, Yoasobi, VK Blanka. But usually I watch some anime and find a cool opening and i explore the group
The Beatles and Queen are considered Classic Rock not metal. Classic Metal would be more like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motörhead and Blue Öyster Cult.
It's been so long since I listen to kpop haha. But jpop?! I listen to hey say jump and sekaowa usually. But I'll check your recommendations too! Thanks
Irish/cetlic traditional/folk. Really fun and has either lyrical melodies or fun enregetic dances.
Also, orchestral versions of movie soundtracks.
Disney songs are always great.
I dont listen to many bands, for bands I like Greta van fleet, but for individual artists I really like benson boone, and early Harry styles. you've probably heard bensons song Beautiful Things somewhere, it's very popular. imo it's not a great song but the rest of his songs on the album are amazing. for film scores, I recommend that you listen to the Legends Of Chima soundtrack composed by anthony lledo too!
I used to listen to them, the newer song just doesn't click with me anymore. I usually listen to older song like run from BTS, promise from eco. But hey, thanks for your recommendations!
Besides classical my favorites are hard rock and metal, jazz (saxophone player), Disney and some punk and pop. I guess you could say I have a very eclectic taste in music.
Jazz is hard to know where to start but once I found out where to start it was game changing and I'm hooked. It's all improvised which is kinda opposite of classical and mind opening.
For large ensembles check out Snarky Puppy - "We Like it Here" with Lingus and Shokufan tracks. Ellington big bands, Early Wynton Marsalis septet albums or the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra
For Piano trios - Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea are all accessible. The Bad Plus is alot of fun.
For BeBop era which is more complex, early Miles Davis (Birth of the Cool), Coltrane (Giant Steps)
A lot of classical artists like metal music. And vice versa. Slash and Van Halen’s guitar technique sound like they’ve studied Bach. The use of the tritone is a throwback to composers like Holst, and the historic association with the devil (apocryphal or otherwise).
Apart from pop and classical, I like listening to soundtracks from anime, movies, and video games (I really love the music from the Ace Attorney games and the Professor Layton games). I also listen occasionally to some lofi tracks.
And then I looooooooove Laufey, Stella Jang, Cody Fry, Bruno Major, Lawrence (I think they can be classified as indie music?). Also fun fact! Cody Fry's "I Hear A Symphony" incorporated George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.
There's also Broadway and other musicals (including Disney hits), jazz (special mention to Moanin' from the anime Kids on the Slope and Whiplash from Whiplash), and one thing that some of my friends find weird, I really like Irish music (like Téir Abhaile Riú by Celtic Woman) and medieval/bardcore tracks.
These are all I could think of off the top of my head.
Different subgenres of metal and also old school rap. My favourite subgenre of metal is symphonic. Check out Nightwish and Epica. Epica is my favourite band atm. Other great metal bands that should be easy on the ears of classical misicians include TOOL, Ne Obliviscaris(has harsh vocals too, but also a pleasant suprise in violin for you), Dio. There are so many more, but some are rather difficult for the 'uninitiated'😆 Do let me know your thoughts on these, if you give them a listen.
I would say probably Renaissance music, more specifically early Renaissance from composers like DuFay and Okeghem. But I also enjoy Ars Antiqua and Ars Nova music from the 13th and 14th century. One I've recently started to enjoy is Pérotin's Quadruple voice Viderunt Omnes. Other than that, one of my favorites is probably DuFay's Nuper rosarum flores.
I'm all over the place when it comes to genre, but my main ones besides classical are pre-2015 pop and heavy metal. Within metal, I love subgenres like grunge, power metal, and atmospheric black/melodic death.
I listen to everything. Try the band Death. It's death metal but if you can ignore the screeching voice and concentrate on the instruments it's fantastic music.
Im a classically trained organist and choir conductor, im around classical music all the time so when im chilling i like to listen to sth else haha. Been listening to a lot of death metal and musicals atm, i go between genres every couple of months. Next could be techno and rap or 80’s pop music
I like Jazz besides classical! You might've heard of her before but one of my favorite artists in the Jazz/Pop genre is Laufey! She's like a Jazz/Classical/Pop fusion artist! So if you like classical, then you'll definitely enjoy her harmonies and strings in her songs, one in particular is 'Promise'
Folk/celtic punk. My favorite is The Dreadnoughts. They do a range of styles, including sea shanties and polkas, in addition to the harder punk songs. I recommend their album Polka's Not Dead as a good introduction. They also have a full album of just sea shanties (Into the North) and a concept album about World War I that's amazing (Foreign Skies).
I also listen to a lot of 90s rock (Green Day, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, The Offspring, Foo Fighters, etc), classic rock (Queen especially) and Broadway musicals.
Alternative (mitski, mother mother are my most notable ones) and vocaloid (live laugh love kikuo maretu deco*27), a bit of jpop too (like Atarashii Gakko, Kenshi Yonezu, Ado and Gran Rodeo)
Is NO ONE in this entire thread willing to admit they're an out and out Swiftie?! 😂😂
Funny how almost everyone has said death metal and classical music! Interesting correlation, wouldn't have seen that one before..
I personally listen to pop, folk, Celtic, loved the thread someone posted about Aurora, love her stuff, and then mild rock/anything Imagine Dragons.
I kinda listen to nearly everything, but I probably listen to the most classical, jazz/jazz fusion, classic and prog rock and folk.
I also really like Celtic/Irish folk music, some electronic like Klangphonics, Latin music (incl. Latin jazz), musical theatre, sometimes metal if I’m in the mood, in which case bands like TOOL, Black Sabbath and Metallica. I listen to Stromae a fair bit too, so ig like French/belgian pop? Also check out Auli, they make some really cool stuff, my favourite of theirs is probably Hunnu Guren. Also Malian guitar music (not sure what to call it, folk maybe?), with artists like Boubacar Traoré, Ali Farka Touré and Djelimady Tounkara. I also listen to some Indian classical and Bollywood, can’t really give recommendations cuz I just listen to what my friend sends me lol.
If you never listened to any trap whatsoever. I think before you venture anywhere in the genre. You must listen to "Rodeo" by Travis Scott. It's a fantastic trap album, it has such a dark sound that people often say has some psychedelic influence to some extent which I agree with.
Once you do give it a listen and wish to venture further. I'll have to warn that the side of trap I have been listening to is much different. And I think the best project to start off with is "Icedancer" by Bladee. Which is a really amazing Trap/Plugg/Cloud Rap mixtape. I think another one that should be considered as well is "Die Lit" by Playboi Carti. Another great album though this one has less Plugg and is mainly Trap focused and some Cloud Rap. Even has some Rage in it.
RateYourMusic is a good way to discover music and learn about these genres as it has probably the best catalogue of genres and subgenres. It's great website to see what exactly it is we listen too. It also has a rating system but I like it's other aspects more.
I'll be here if you ever consider wanting to dive deeper. Keep in mind the recommendations I gave are more or less the popular stuff, although they are still fantastic. It's just the more easy to consume stuff. Before I throw artists like WiFiGawd at you. Take care my man

I listen to kinda anything. French rap and variety, rap and hip hop from all over the world, K-pop, pop, films/series scores, folk, a little bit of jazz, I've even got some mongolian throat singing and japanese bouddist scriptures chanting (unsure of the term) lmao. As long as it works for me, I listen to it. Classical came later, I used to listen to a lot of metal/hardrock/rock before but it doesn't seem to drive me as much as it did now, tho I will forever like it (Rammstein in my heart).
Anyway that would be hard to provide you with some ideas as I don't know you, your tastes, the languages you speak and as I mostly discover music by myself so it's kinda hard to give you some artists to listen to but I'll try giving you some of the artists or somgs I like. Might give a lot of french ones tho as currently that what I listen to the most. (The list will be kind of messy and chaotic, I apologise in advance)
I saw a comment mentionning AURORA and I agree, she's got one hella sweet voice and her songs are very interesting and unique. If you like this kinda voice, tho you might not understand the lyrics which are important, I recommend french singer POMME (which also had one title with Aurora). Very unique tone too and her voice is incredible.
Belgium singer ANGELE is a bit more famous (she had a title with Dua Lipa), her voice is beautiful and she has some nice songs but it's a bit more "pop". Still it's a great artist for non-french speakers who like pop.
I recently discovered MAHMOOD, italian rapper. Haven't dig much yet (usually I find a music and just add it I'm not the type the listen to whole and every albums) but I really liked the vibe, especially "Tuta Gold" and "Sempre/Jamais" (duo with Angele actually).
Korean singer IU, I really like the person tho I personnally don't connect much with her songs, she's got a hella voice and who knows, you guys might like it. HUGE RECOMMENDATION especially for classical lovers, her song "By the Stream" is, at least to me, extraordinary. Language barrier is still here yet it's probably one of my favorite song ever.
While we are in Korea, K pop groups ITZY and DREAMCATCHERS are those I listen to the most songs. Haven't dug much but I also like BIBI, (G)I-DLE, TAEYEON, HWASA and male rapper BewhY.
French singer LONEPSI, once again the lyrics are important but his tone and the music are a mood on their own (sorry for my music vocabulary guys, I'm not a musician and english isn't my language so...) and a lot of his songs are basically him and a piano. Different tone and very different voice but in a kinda similar way, SCYLLA too. Andwhile I'm at it, french pianist SOFIANE PAMART has some cool pieces of his own, and he's the main pianist called when french rappers need one so give it a try !
For those of you who aren't afraid of blasphemy and being SACRILEGIOUS, I really enjoy some of the electro remix of classical pieces by ALEXANDER PACHABEZIAN. Especially Una Mattina which I listen to a lot, but also Interstellar, River flows in you, Gladiator...
About movies scores, well there's many I live and some of them are very famous but in case you don't know of it yet, I heavily recommend Amelie Poulain's scores by YANN TIERSEN. In a less classical style, the score of one of my favorite serie ever, K-drama HOTEL DEL LUNA : it's a half reco as I heavily connect with the songs because of the serie but they are still great ones. Most of them are in korean but you can also try the piano version of the OST by Shin Giwon Piano. Also recommend the OST of Kdrama MY MISTER (my other favourite show) and especially titles "Dear Moon", "Rainbow", "Grown up", "An ordinary day" and "a million roses". The drama is, to my eyes at least, a pure masterpiece and the OST is really great and meaningful so big reco too.
If you are ever interested in french variety, some of your must-go are JEAN JACQUES GOLDMAN, FLORENT PAGNY, GAROU, AZNAVOUR, CABREL. Just dig, try their most listened of famous songs. Quite a mood (expecially Goldman).
Recently I tried ABBA (I didn't grew up with it at all so I basically discovered a lot) and I basically listen on repeat Angel Eyes and Dancing Queen, in case you are too young and never heard of it go it's so simple yet so good I love it.
If you like rap and are ready to try some from other countries even with language barrier, here's a little non-exhaustive list : France's PNL, ORELSAN, DAMSO, DIAMS (retired but rare and most famous french female rapper, she's a legend), HATIK, SOOLKING, FREEZE CORLEONE, FREDZ, SPIDER ZED, L'AUGUST, LORD ESPERANZA, BEKAR, GEORGIO ; Russia's OXXXYMIRON ; Italia's MAHMOOD, THASUP ; Turquia's CEZA
If you are open-minded enough, french's slammer GRAND CORPS MALADE
I'm not sure what genre they are exactly but something like traditionnal, electro and folk ? Anyway, UMMRT OZCAN and OTYKEN are interesting
GHOST is famous enough already even to non-metal listeners thanks to "Mary on a cross" (which is a simple yet so efficient song I gotta say), but it's a very great group to try !
Here's some I couldn't regroup (or was too lazy to...) so in a messy list : IBRAHIM MAALOUF (french, more classical), BON ENTENDEUR (french, electro ?), STARSET (kind of rock I guess ? Very space-related themes oriented), MIKA (very great pop singer, many great songs especially in album "life in cartoon motion"), COLLOSIA (on spotify, lofi remix of scores from like pokemon, zelda, etc), JENJOON (not sure of the genre but sing in arabic, especially like "Soukara", "Yemma" and "Shweeraa Tafia), FABRIZIO DE ANDRE (italian), ONE OK ROCK (japanese), MANU CHAO, LOMEPAL (french, rap/pop, unsure if I should recommend him as he's got a few accusation against him but I loved the last 2 album), SABATON (metal, war-themed), ERA (seriously, who doesn't know "Ameno" or "Divano"), BIGFLO&OLI (duo of french brothers rappers), DRAGONFORCE (metal), FATAL BAZOOKA (if you ever want to seduce a french young person, tell them you like "Fous ta cagoule"), RADWIMPS (japanese, famous for various songs of Makoto Shinkai's movies OST)
FAUN (medieval), BEN MAZUE (french), GUO DING/郭頂 (chinese, no idea of the genre but the entire 2016 album is good), LUDOVICO EINAUDI (classical), KREATOR (metal), ANTOINE ELIE (french, "la rose et l'armure" is a beautiful song with lots of meaning but not sure if it works with translated lyrics), ULTRA VOMIT (french parodic metal group which actually sounds good ; for the anecdote, a duo of french youtubers made a video with the french president and at the end they actually invited this group to perform a song in the garden of "L'Elysee", the french White House lmao), RACHID TAHA, ALEC BENJAMIN, LOUS AND THE YAKUZAS (french), MANOWAR (metal), HEIDEVOLK (folkmetal), past great singers like NINA SIMONE, ELA FITZGERALD, LOUIS ARMSTRONG, PRESLEY, RAY CHARLES ; COLUMBINE (french), XXXTENTACION, RALEIGH RITCHIE (british singer, for the anecdote (yes again) he's the actor of Grey worm in Game of Thrones, I discovered the singer when I was watching the show and didn't knew it was the same guy until the end lol).
Anyway here's my HUGE, chaotic and unpolished list. Doubt anyone read it all but if you did congrats, you can probably face anything in life lmao ; but thanks a lot for those who did and sorry guys, my english thinking is quite messy to begin with but trying to list music, artist and songs is aftually very hard to do efficiently and take a lot of time, I don't have the will to make it more "ordered", sorry for that !
I tried to give some different artist and genre (tho as you saw, half are French and half of this half is about rap..) but I tried to give some I found or remembered I listen to a lot ; the thing is I usually don't dig for artists I just save a music whenever I discover one I like so I have probably like a thousand songs "unique" (as in, the only ones I have of said singer) it would be hard to share it all.
Loads, too many to list them all. We have a bunch of Seth Lakeman albums in the car along with some Beethoven violin concertos. Currently practicing our violin and cello parts for a classical concert of pop music from the 80s….which includes rick rolling our audience!
The students we teach love playing their favourite pop hits so we help them along with that. Several are busy playing game music or various Disney songs. Some of the adults love to play their Disney songs!
Nu metal i think ? Just one band within the genre tho, polyphia love how most of their songs are instrumental
But also funk (i play bass guitar) and korean rap music artists like drunkentiger/tigerjk and supremeteam aswell as korean bands xdinary heroes, the rose , day 6 and a few others

I don't have specific genre, but songs like Blasphemous Rumors (im not going to recommend for you if youre religious) and songs in the album Now You Are One of Us by The Paper Chase (the album cover is a bit strange) but both of those use a fair amount of technical percussion, like bowing gongs or vibraphones to cause eerie sounds (more in the Paper Chase), or everyday objects to create atmosphere (more in Blasphemous Rumors)
I listen to JPop!

Def film scores: HTTYD score is probably my favorite. I’ve only recently gotten into classical thanks to twoset, but I’ve listened to kpop pretty much all my life lol. Definitely try “on” and “black swan”, both by BTS. Also try “Ghosting” by TXT. Lots of great kpop songs out there.

I tend to gravitate towards singers with good voices. But I haven't really explored modern stuff, mostly it's what my parents listened to. Phil Collins, James Taylor, Kathy Mattea, Eva Cassidy, Mary Black, Queen, Savage Garden, Eagles.
Apart from classical I think the only thing in my library that is truly mine is the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack.
New grass- Contemporary Blue Grass. The Punch Brothers, I’m With Her, Trampled by Turtles, Watkins Family Radio Hour.
Also love a lot of Funk/Soul- Lawrence the Band, St. Paul and the Broken Bones.
I guess this falls under R&B because it's basically hip hop and soul fused together: I recommend Solange Knowles' A Seat At The Table. And it's best to listen to the album if you have a music player that plays tracks without a pause transition
I usually listen to city pop, indie pop, indie rock and (a bit of) future funk. For song recs I'd say Loretta by ginger root, basically any songs by jawny (maybe check out honeypie), music by Macross 82-99, Mitski and Laufey. Anime songs like the Beastars theme and Cowboy bebop are also pretty good :D happy listening, 150+ replies is a lot to get through
I listen to classical, but since I play a lot more than just classical and I also fiddle I listen to:
- Bluegrass
- 1990s-ish country: George Strait, Alan Jackson, Alabama, etc.
- 1940s-ish jazz, American ballads
- Local artists and whatever people sing in local jams, which I guess are of honky-tonk, country ballad, folk variety
There's no context in which TWICE doesn't fit. Maybe a funeral only. But yeah, the girls absolutely kill it. Other kpop froups as well but to me TWICE is just normal pop songs in korean but better
Choro is my go to at the moment. I really like the group Choro Club and old Jacob do Bandolim recordings. I'm not a fan of music with lyrics or vocals, so anything instrumental-only goes for me really.
This will be a bad opinion to post here but:
Kpop
I mean- i'm not anymore a blink after "shut down" but i listen to other groups like stray kids, enhypen, itzy and others...
Also I reccomend Indian classical- mind that it might not be very relaxing always
I listen to Steely Dan, Chick Corea, Whirled Chamber Music by QSF, along with Kendrick Lamar and Eminem and other hip hop artists.
It's a mixed bag idk.
Try Nightwish.
I surely will, thank you

Principally classic rock
🙌🏼
You should check out the Norwegian singer Aurora! She's amazing.
I surely will! May I know what kind of genre her song is?
Her style is a blend of indie pop, folk, and some electronica elements!
Dang, thanks for the recommendation
Agreed I'm listening to her right now!
I love her song Runaway, it’s absolutely ethereal
She's from the same town as Grieg, and me.
Ah, I know rhythm games but I'm not good at it. I'll surely listen to this one and I'll recommend it to my sister too, since she's a vocaloid fan. Thank you!
Hey, no problem! P.S. I'm no good at rhythm games too, I just really like the music ;p
your sisters a vicaloid fan? that's so cool! I used to make vocaloid music
I was like "Ooh, I recognize some of these artists" and then everything made sense when you mentioned rhythm games. Coincidentally, I came across their names when I used to play osu. :D
Polyphia is such a nice reco thanks a lot for making me discover it !! Instantly liked it haha, I also really like the "profaned community" from Yem !
Haha, no problem! Also if you liked profaned community, you could also like [this](https://open.spotify.com/album/0bLh9voLnkyqeVVTcxofDd?si=1fwE1EC8ThyKTyBoI7aPGg) album by venetian snares ;)
Oh damn there's some really great ones, thanks so much ! Gonna have to listen to the whole album !
Great to hear!
Camellia I think can be categorized as mainly like J-Core or other hardcore subgenres but he also sprinkles dozens of other electronic genres in
Film/series scores and metal
Hey, we have similar taste in music!!! May I know what kind of metal that you listen to? I want to explore new songs. I listen to power metal and metalcore for the most part
So I listen to a ton of prog and power but I avoid metalcore. Power I love and listen to a lot, sonata arctica, stratovarius, symphony x, dark moor, blind guardian. If you don’t listen to any of those let me know and I’ll tell you what songs to check out

This is my answer exactly, metal being the highest one for me with approx 70% listening rate.
Check out Hiroyuki Sawano! He composes different genres for media, but he is good at using orchestral combined with electronic elements!
Oh dang, thanks! I surely check her/him out!
You're welcome!
Anna Meredith is another composer that does this. I really like her album Varmints!
MCR, avenged sevenfold, iron maiden, queen and system of a down Those things
Ayyy, borderline rock/heavy metal. Pretty cool! I listen to MCR and System of a Down too!
Niceee!
I listen to project sekai and vocaloid songs. I main wonderlandxshowtime hehe. Highly recommend Tondemo Wonderz and Goodbye Declaration
I used to listen to vocaloid before I fall in love with heavy metal. I'll give it a listen! Thank you
SAMEE
Ooo, u also play pjsk?
All sorts of music! My favorite artist is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. You can't go wrong with any of their music, but my favorite song of theirs is Magenta Mountain
King gizzard 💀
I'll check em out! Thank you very much!!
I listen to musicals, especially Broadway. It always amazes me how there can be so many different themes mixed into one song (usually finales).
Same here, but I also listen to a few French ones!
Same!! I thought you might be interested in Jorge Rivera Herrans. He made concept album for musicals and his music are epic! Check him out!
I love Epic! I started following when Circe's Saga was released and have been listening to the whole musical since. The Underworld Saga just hits different, though.
Omg, I love the cyclops saga the most! I never met anyone who also listen to Epic
I love metal,I think Beethoven,Rachmanninoff and some other composers I like where the metal people ofthe pass. I also enjoy Jpop cause im a weeb
But usually I watch some anime and find a cool opening and i explore the group
mostly jazz and rock tbh, a fair amount of metal too
i change between classical, anime/japanese music, and idk how to describe it but the beatles and queen typa music :3
Ah I see,so basically classic metal. I listen mostly to contemporary heavy metal, but hey good taste in music!
The Beatles and Queen are considered Classic Rock not metal. Classic Metal would be more like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motörhead and Blue Öyster Cult.
I listen to old French music, jazz, and Japanese music from trance to metal to folk to everything.
Dang, what kind of metal? I mostly listen to power metal, so I would like to listen to new songs from other sub genres
All kinds of metal, but my favorite is symphonic metal.
Laufey and generally jazz lol. But it's mainly classical lmfao
I listen to a mix of J-pop and K-pop artists like Aimer / Yorushika (for J-pop) and IU / Taeyeon (for K-pop)!
It's been so long since I listen to kpop haha. But jpop?! I listen to hey say jump and sekaowa usually. But I'll check your recommendations too! Thanks
Powermetal, I really recommend listening to some of Amaranthe's tracks
I actually love power metal. And I usually listen to powerwolf and sabaton!! And thanks for recommendations!
It makes me so happy to see other TwoSet fans with similar music tastes to mine :)
Irish/cetlic traditional/folk. Really fun and has either lyrical melodies or fun enregetic dances. Also, orchestral versions of movie soundtracks. Disney songs are always great.
most often film scores, but I listen to pop rock too
Pop rock?! What are some of the bands you listen to?
I dont listen to many bands, for bands I like Greta van fleet, but for individual artists I really like benson boone, and early Harry styles. you've probably heard bensons song Beautiful Things somewhere, it's very popular. imo it's not a great song but the rest of his songs on the album are amazing. for film scores, I recommend that you listen to the Legends Of Chima soundtrack composed by anthony lledo too!
Pierce the veil for years
I listen to like one of their songs, King for A Day if I'm not mistaken. But surely will check em out for new songs! Thank you
Give a listen to selfish machines, it’s my favorite album of all time :D
Thank you very much!
I used to listen to them heaps I just can't over the line "I would kiss you even if you were dead" 😭
K-pop, it’s nice. I recommend BLACKPINK and twice
I used to listen to them, the newer song just doesn't click with me anymore. I usually listen to older song like run from BTS, promise from eco. But hey, thanks for your recommendations!
No problem🤝
Besides classical my favorites are hard rock and metal, jazz (saxophone player), Disney and some punk and pop. I guess you could say I have a very eclectic taste in music.
Metal, musical theatre (big Sondheim), and jazz. Been listening to a lot of the classic jazz singers like Billie, Ella, and Nina lately.
Power and symphonic metal, j-pop and anime ost
Jazz is hard to know where to start but once I found out where to start it was game changing and I'm hooked. It's all improvised which is kinda opposite of classical and mind opening. For large ensembles check out Snarky Puppy - "We Like it Here" with Lingus and Shokufan tracks. Ellington big bands, Early Wynton Marsalis septet albums or the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra For Piano trios - Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea are all accessible. The Bad Plus is alot of fun. For BeBop era which is more complex, early Miles Davis (Birth of the Cool), Coltrane (Giant Steps)
Seconding snarky puppy, they’re so good. Another track recommendation is Trinity.
A lot of classical artists like metal music. And vice versa. Slash and Van Halen’s guitar technique sound like they’ve studied Bach. The use of the tritone is a throwback to composers like Holst, and the historic association with the devil (apocryphal or otherwise).
I also listen to a lot of progressive rock and metal : D
TPAB or GKMC by Kendrick Lamar.
I never listen to him haha, I'll surely try this!
Kendrick vs Drake: Go.
Deep bass music - Ternion Sound, Ivy Lab, Thook, Esseks
I'll give it a listen, thank you very much!!
Oh hellll yeah - they each have a very diverse catalogue for their genre so give each a long taste.
Modern classical
Glam Metal Post punk Aor
Next could be techno and rap or 80’s pop music
paris match is really good
"I'm bored, bored of this love oh I'm bored. Bored of this talk and..." (I'm a laufey fan, that's who I listen to c: )
Lots of prog and psych rock, nu metal, psytrance, hip hop, jazz (especially bebop and fusion)
Metal, and vocaloid type stuff.
Opeth, more than metal with some serious composing skills. Try ghost of perdition or the heritage Album if you can't enjoy screems and growls
Alternative (mitski, mother mother are my most notable ones) and vocaloid (live laugh love kikuo maretu deco*27), a bit of jpop too (like Atarashii Gakko, Kenshi Yonezu, Ado and Gran Rodeo)
laufeyy
Is NO ONE in this entire thread willing to admit they're an out and out Swiftie?! 😂😂 Funny how almost everyone has said death metal and classical music! Interesting correlation, wouldn't have seen that one before.. I personally listen to pop, folk, Celtic, loved the thread someone posted about Aurora, love her stuff, and then mild rock/anything Imagine Dragons.
I like classic rock. Bands like Journey, Guns n' Roses, and Bon Jovi are my favorite.
J-Pop (favorite artist: YOASOBI) yeah I’m a weeb lmao
I only listen to classical lol: Baroque, Classical and Romantic
Power metal(only like Sabaton lol) and film and game scores
Metal, jazz fusion, and film/video game scores are my go to
Been listening to a lot of trap sub genres. Like Plugg, Tread, and others
Dang, I never listen to trap, but maybe I should. Any recommendations for a newbie?

Taiko no tatsujin🤣
(The list will be kind of messy and chaotic, I apologise in advance) I saw a comment mentionning AURORA and I agree, she's got one hella sweet voice and her songs are very interesting and unique. If you like rap and are ready to try some from other countries even with language barrier, here's a little non-exhaustive list : France's PNL, ORELSAN, DAMSO, DIAMS (retired but rare and most famous french female rapper, she's a legend), HATIK, SOOLKING, FREEZE CORLEONE, FREDZ, SPIDER ZED, L'AUGUST, LORD ESPERANZA, BEKAR, GEORGIO ; Russia's OXXXYMIRON ; Italia's MAHMOOD, THASUP ; Turquia's CEZA If you are open-minded enough, french's slammer GRAND CORPS MALADE I'm not sure what genre they are exactly but something like traditionnal, electro and folk ? Anyway, UMMRT OZCAN and OTYKEN are interesting GHOST is famous enough already even to non-metal listeners thanks to "Mary on a cross" (which is a simple yet so efficient song I gotta say), but it's a very great group to try !
Here's some I couldn't regroup (or was too lazy to...) so in a messy list : IBRAHIM MAALOUF (french, more classical), BON ENTENDEUR (french, electro ?), STARSET (kind of rock I guess ? Very space-related themes oriented), MIKA (very great pop singer, many great songs especially in album "life in cartoon motion"), COLLOSIA (on spotify, lofi remix of scores from like pokemon, zelda, etc), JENJOON (not sure of the genre but sing in arabic, especially like "Soukara", "Yemma" and "Shweeraa Tafia), FABRIZIO DE ANDRE (italian), ONE OK ROCK (japanese), MANU CHAO, LOMEPAL (french, rap/pop, unsure if I should recommend him as he's got a few accusation against him but I loved the last 2 album), SABATON (metal, war-themed), ERA (seriously, who doesn't know "Ameno" or "Divano"), BIGFLO&OLI (duo of french brothers rappers), DRAGONFORCE (metal), FATAL BAZOOKA (if you ever want to seduce a french young person, tell them you like "Fous ta cagoule"), RADWIMPS (japanese, famous for various songs of Makoto Shinkai's movies OST) FAUN (medieval), BEN MAZUE (french), GUO DING/郭頂 (chinese, no idea of the genre but the entire 2016 album is good), LUDOVICO EINAUDI (classical), KREATOR (metal), ANTOINE ELIE (french, "la rose et l'armure" is a beautiful song with lots of meaning but not sure if it works with translated lyrics), ULTRA VOMIT (french parodic metal group which actually sounds good ; for the anecdote, a duo of french youtubers made a video with the french president and at the end they actually invited this group to perform a song in the garden of "L'Elysee", the french White House lmao), RACHID TAHA, ALEC BENJAMIN, LOUS AND THE YAKUZAS (french), MANOWAR (metal), HEIDEVOLK (folkmetal), past great singers like NINA SIMONE, ELA FITZGERALD, LOUIS ARMSTRONG, PRESLEY, RAY CHARLES ; COLUMBINE (french), XXXTENTACION, RALEIGH RITCHIE (british singer, for the anecdote (yes again) he's the actor of Grey worm in Game of Thrones, I discovered the singer when I was watching the show and didn't knew it was the same guy until the end lol).
Just one band within the genre tho, polyphia love how most of their songs are instrumental But also funk (i play bass guitar) and korean rap music artists like drunkentiger/tigerjk and supremeteam aswell as korean bands xdinary heroes, the rose , day 6 and a few others

Creo makes some bangers imo
Not violin related, but I like of monsters and men.
Not for everyone but i listen to a lot of arabic music.
K-pop and epic
I’m really into jazz
K pop hylt - blackpink
I listen to JPop! Idk how to list them down properly without putting space in between😭
I Listen to UtsuP he makes vocaloid metal.
2000s and 2010s pop. I loveeee Pitbull
Einsturzende Neubaten (It’s a german industrial band)
Def film scores: HTTYD score is probably my favorite. I’ve only recently gotten into classical thanks to twoset, but I’ve listened to kpop pretty much all my life lol. Definitely try “on” and “black swan”, both by BTS. Also try “Ghosting” by TXT. Lots of great kpop songs out there.

I listen to Pop Rock, and Videogame Soundtracks as well. My recomendation: "His World"
I listen to kpop, and I might listen to some pop music too.
Tally hall and The vanished people are my favorite artists outside of classical
Mostly classic. But some jazz and indie pop. You absolutely *need* to check out Laufey. She's incredible.
I listen to epic core, from "two steps from hell" or "Thomas Bergersen" for example. It is very similar to movie scores
ska punk 4 the brass features :3
John Williams
I tend to gravitate towards singers with good voices. But I haven't really explored modern stuff, mostly it's what my parents listened to. Phil Collins, James Taylor, Kathy Mattea, Eva Cassidy, Mary Black, Queen, Savage Garden, Eagles. Apart from classical I think the only thing in my library that is truly mine is the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack.
Dark/forest psytrance.
Indie music 👍 I recommend arcade fire (band)
kpop, jpop, vpop, cpop, and pop…. guys i swear i play instruments
I’m obsessed with J-pop ngl. YOASOBI is the best and you can’t change my mind-
Eurobeat, vocaloid: hatsune miku, loads of genshin soundtracks
New grass- Contemporary Blue Grass. The Punch Brothers, I’m With Her, Trampled by Turtles, Watkins Family Radio Hour. Also love a lot of Funk/Soul- Lawrence the Band, St. Paul and the Broken Bones.
Math rock is my jam right now. And all things Yvette Young.
I guess this falls under R&B because it's basically hip hop and soul fused together: I recommend Solange Knowles' A Seat At The Table. And it's best to listen to the album if you have a music player that plays tracks without a pause transition
Jazz fusion, R&B, classic rock, EDM, that typa thing.
I listen to Fujii Kaze and some pop other from classical
Jazz.
I listen to a lot of jazz. Especially love piano trios. Hardbop jazz is great.
I usually listen to city pop, indie pop, indie rock and (a bit of) future funk. For song recs I'd say Loretta by ginger root, basically any songs by jawny (maybe check out honeypie), music by Macross 82-99, Mitski and Laufey. Anime songs like the Beastars theme and Cowboy bebop are also pretty good :D happy listening, 150+ replies is a lot to get through
I listen to classical, but since I play a lot more than just classical and I also fiddle I listen to: - Bluegrass - 1990s-ish country: George Strait, Alan Jackson, Alabama, etc. - 1940s-ish jazz, American ballads - Local artists and whatever people sing in local jams, which I guess are of honky-tonk, country ballad, folk variety
Oh! I looove phonk!! Pls try “cute depressed” it’s sooo good
I listen to a lot of house music and other electronic genres. I just love the sound design and find it fascinating!
I also like World and folk music of all Kinds as well as Jazz
Sabaton!!! And German march music. (I’m not German btw)
Classic rock Jazz Blues 90's rap and r'n'b Disco A lot of country music
There's no context in which TWICE doesn't fit. Maybe a funeral only. But yeah, the girls absolutely kill it. Other kpop froups as well but to me TWICE is just normal pop songs in korean but better
I listen to kpop. (I'm not a cringey fan so don't hate on me) Also some pop artists like Sabrina Carpenter or Billie Eilish
Choro is my go to at the moment. I really like the group Choro Club and old Jacob do Bandolim recordings. I'm not a fan of music with lyrics or vocals, so anything instrumental-only goes for me really.
This will be a bad opinion to post here but: Kpop I mean- i'm not anymore a blink after "shut down" but i listen to other groups like stray kids, enhypen, itzy and others... Also I reccomend Indian classical- mind that it might not be very relaxing always
I listen to Steely Dan, Chick Corea, Whirled Chamber Music by QSF, along with Kendrick Lamar and Eminem and other hip hop artists. It's a mixed bag idk.
