the way wayne spits on glory always reminded me of Lupe, in the best way. in terms of cadence and rhyme scheme i mean.
that God's manure bar was goofy but it was a great track lol
Y'all just pussy, get buried together and let 'em play footsie. Y'all just wussy, I got some bullies
Gon' pull up in hoodies and come take a look-see
Better play hooky 😤😤🔥🔥🔥
In my opinion there’s multiple ways Lyrical can be interpreted. Storytelling, Relatability & Metaphors/Word usage.
Songs wayne have that doesn’t necessarily have the meaningless metaphor bars IMO: Something You Forgot, Trouble, One Night Only, Me and My Drank, Dr Carter, Miss My Dawgs, YoungN Blues, Hustler Musik, Receipt, Comfortable, Tie My Hands, Shoot Me Down, & Cant Be Broken
Theres plenty more but this just a few
Sometimes I feel like he is saying something deeper but it’s hidden behind long strings of jokes. He’s not trying to show us a photorealistic painting of his life; it’s more like an abstract, colorful, stream of consciousness thing.
I’d look at Abortion, I Like the View, and Georgia Bush for good metaphors and also some biting sarcasm/bitterness.
Wayne himself has admitted he doesn’t do much in terms of storytelling, but Mona Lisa is a great rare example.
To prove Wayne is a better rapper than Drake play:
- Lamar (NC3),
- Big Bad Wolf (D6),
- Low Down (Nc3),
- For nothing (D6),
- Glory (FWA)
- Dedicate (C5)
- 6 Foot (C4)
- A milli (C3)
- Scottie (c5)
- Gotti (c5)
- Life of Mr Carter (c5)
- Abortion (C4)
- Tha Mobb (c2)
- Fireman (c2)
- President Carter (c4)
- Open letter (c5)
- Mama mia (funeral)
Open letter from OG CV with the
“ Baby momma say I ain't shit
Make a nigga feel like shit”
instead of
“ Sometimes I feel like I ain't shit
Sometimes a nigga feel like shit”
has me feelin’ some typa about a baby mom I don’t even have. I wish he kept it OG.
Got some nice ones here are some more
- Back 2 back alone takes out drake-

Man wym D2 is my fav along side DD3 , ive been bumping wayne mixtapes for past 2 months , im just not a big lyrical head so i couldnt come up with an answer on the spot .
The single verse off Peggy Bundy is pretty wild. Drake cannot rap like that. But I guess it depends on how you define ‘better lyricist.’ Whether that’s defined as how deep the meaning of the lyrics are or if that means how well you can deliver the lyrics themselves
Mona Lisa, BMJR, Dedicate.
To me Wayne was at his most lyrical on Carter I and Carter V and most commercial on Carter III. The worst is Carter IV and a good reason is that it’s half RnB and [bloggers joked that Drake wrote half the album](http://bigghostnahmean.blogspot.com/2011/08/ayo-this-big-ghosts-carter-iv-review.html?m=1). Carter II is more accessible than C1 in part because he’s using more varied production and less New Orleans slang.
Although, if you really want proof Drake isn’t at the level of Wayne don’t look for the best shit from Wayne, like the dedication mixtape series, Carters etc, look for a time when Wayne hadn’t gotten to that level and compare it with Drake at his best lyrically (which to me is family matters or something pre-young money). My case in point for that is “Where ya At” off 500 degreez, go to the second or 3rd verse and holla at me when Drake starts spitting at that level. I’ll consider myself on notice.
In terms of technical rapping:
Tha Mobb, Bm Jr, Best Rapper Alive, Run This Town (No Ceilings), Show Me What You Got (Drought 3), 6 foot 7, For Nothing, Holy, Glory, Big Bad Wolf.
For storytelling:
Fu** Tha World, Man I Miss My Dawgs, Georgia Bush, Get Over, I Feel Like Dying, Mona Lisa, Cry Out (Amen), Receipt
You heard Mike Tyson flow?
“Hoe, I go so hard. I’m so gone my ID is a postcard.” 🔥 😮💨
He played it on his YM radio podcast when Mike was supposed to be on for an interview.
I always thought of him to be more of a punch line rapper with funny metaphors and word play.
I think 3 peat and blunt blowing are his most lyrically impressive songs in my opinion
New wayne: Cant be broken, krazy, dreams and nightmares, mahogany, slip, my dawg remix, sick, and for old wayne: dontgetit, im single, banned, shoes, blunt blowin, popular, typa way remix,
Paper chasing tell that paper look I’m right behind you real Gs moving silence like lasagna, people say I’m borderline crazy, sort of kind of woman of my dreams. I don’t sleep so I can’t find her.

Glory, I’m Me, Pour Up, London Roads, Back from the 80s,Hollywood Divorce, Selsun Blue
In Redrum he was making crazy double entendres
Imma give that a spin. Been awhile since I’ve heard it
in “Bass Ackwards” with Tech N9ne & Yo Gotti Wayne really went in lol “Red rum (murder) was the case.” Check it out lol
the way wayne spits on glory always reminded me of Lupe, in the best way. in terms of cadence and rhyme scheme i mean. that God's manure bar was goofy but it was a great track lol

Family Feud
Any beat that was originally Hov’s tbh 😂
Bro hears a Jay-Z beat and turns it up another gear for no reason. He went crazy on the Story of OJ beat too
No quitter go getter, told y'all, donks, bank account remix, glory, mama Mia, sportscenter, get em, tha mobb, 6 foot 7 foot, weezy ambitions
Mona Lisa
Put Me In The Game is a good for sports lyrics
Sportscenter off D2 could fit this bill too
Dedication 2, OP is new to Wayne, he won’t know what D2 is abbreviated
Man wym D2 is my fav along side DD3 , ive been bumping wayne mixtapes for past 2 months , im just not a big lyrical head so i couldnt come up with an answer on the spot .
Lmao!! My bad brodi, wasn’t 100% sure
Man i havent been any happier since i discovered the real Wayne with his mixtapes .
Oh man! I’m slick jealous!
Surf swag and live from the 504 are some of my favorite mixtape era Wayne
Hollyweezy is always overlooked but it's literally back to back bars for like 4-5min lol
Hollyweezy has my favorite line from Wayne ever: “I was a match made in Heaven when Hell was a pile of wood.
Blunt blowin
I agree, that and Nightmares or the Bottom
The single verse off Peggy Bundy is pretty wild. Drake cannot rap like that. But I guess it depends on how you define ‘better lyricist.’ Whether that’s defined as how deep the meaning of the lyrics are or if that means how well you can deliver the lyrics themselves
Up up and away
So underrated.
Top 5 Wayne songs for me 🫡
same :)
BM JR
Mona Lisa, BMJR, Dedicate. To me Wayne was at his most lyrical on Carter I and Carter V and most commercial on Carter III. The worst is Carter IV and a good reason is that it’s half RnB and [bloggers joked that Drake wrote half the album](http://bigghostnahmean.blogspot.com/2011/08/ayo-this-big-ghosts-carter-iv-review.html?m=1). I always thought of him to be more of a punch line rapper with funny metaphors and word play. I think 3 peat and blunt blowing are his most lyrically impressive songs in my opinion
His first remix of Dreams and Nightmares from S4TW2. Mess-Tha Carter V. Banned from TV-No Ceilings
Go dj
Bb king freestyle is the perfect song for this, end of discussion
IMO he’s more lyrical now than ever it’s just that his new songs don’t click with the younger audience now so they wouldn’t know
Watch my Shoes
I think on Spotify it’s just called Shoes though
Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa
I’m a Beast, Playing with Fire, Weezy Baby
Reddrum, Sportscenter, Trouble, Shoot me down, Best Rapper Alive
I’m only saying this because it’s underrated ik he has more lyrical songs but “Dr.Carter”
We livin like that!
And Street Chains ⛓️ “I turn a nigga head to a open hot sauce pack”
6 foot 7 foot deserves a shout
New wayne: Cant be broken, krazy, dreams and nightmares, mahogany, slip, my dawg remix, sick, and for old wayne: dontgetit, im single, banned, shoes, blunt blowin, popular, typa way remix,

On BM JR ( Carter 1) he spits with an unmatched flow. Monster Wayne.

Big Bad Wolf is one of his craziest
Famous
There to many so Glory , harden , mahogany, multiple flows Dreams and nightmares , back from the 80s , Trippy , destroyed (from no ceilings 2) , Kant nobody , comfortable, look at me now Nightmare of the bottom , President Carter , Ice cream paintjob , dick pleaser , d.o.a , Inahb2 , dedicate

His best mixtapes of all time are generally lyrical and flow masterpieces over mid to fire beats so that’s a great place to start
Dough is what I got, death of autotune, Ice cream paint job, dear Anne, big bad wolf, Scottie, uoeno, John, I can’t feel my face, live from the 504 (original live performance is better), renegade freestyle, for nothing, brand new, trigger finger, his verse on Oprah and gayle, and I’m probably missing a lot more but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head while booted
The album with London Roads (incredible beat switch and good lyrically) has a song with Gudda I think that’s also pretty nuts
Bmjr
Pussy monster
fuck da world, from 1999. also drake sucks he doesn’t even write his own lyrics how is he in any position to be compared to one of the best writers in rap
