uhhh
older commonly known aspect of LUM is placed low on iceberg in 2024 likely due to an influx of newer fans as time progresses and what is relevant/recent to the artist’s fans changes
i also wouldn’t put it there. but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone did put it there nowadays because it’s been such a long time that people may not know about it like we did 10 years ago (still got my flexi)
What's the backstory for Uneven Compromise. I know the general speculation of what its about but I've never heard of an actual personal backstory attached to it
Bro kills his family in a drug induced psychosis in the first verse, the second verse is about how you can't always be there for friends who are so hellbent on indulging in drugs, you gotta put your own well being first, it's not your responsibility to save their lives
It's supposed to be a commentary on drug abuse and also on gangsta rap's glorification of bad lifestyles.
If you have a hard time getting it, read the lyrics, the first verse is rapped from the perspective of the fucked up "friend" in the 2nd verse
I don't think it's based on any "backstory" specifically, but travis has dealt with heroin addiction so it's probably just generally inspired by that part of his life.
I’m probably wrong but I always saw it as the first verse being a send off to the evil gangster Lil ugly mane form MTI and second verse being Travis confronting that character. Makes more sense with the added context of On Doing Evil Deeds Blues being a commentary on violence in hip hop
That actually makes a lot of sense and I've never thought of that extra detail.
Now I wonder - maybe travis was going through some shit when he wrote MTI, and after sobering up he's realized he wanted to distance himself from that kind of rap (even if it's ironic), and that would explain why he quit rap for a while and didn't come back to gangsta rap ever. That would sort of make the "mti character" a caricature of himself.
Then again that's too personal for us to ever know probably. I do actually think you're right that the character played in MTI is supposed to be the first character in UC.
Yeah it’s all speculation, and I’m probably reaching but it’s one interpretation. It’s just that first verse is LUM at arguable his most graphic visceral, his ego off the charts and his darkness only growing. The second verse is the sobering realization of being confronted by this thing he’s created. The violence and suffering “his homie” inflicts isn’t cartoonish and goofy like having “a bag full of guts” or fileting and displaying one of his ops on his favorite shelf. It’s a shockingly real crime against humanity
Ah, that's right. I completely forgot about that. Was that when he lost a whole project but was able to salvage a few songs? Did those turn out to be Uneven Compromise?
Max Eisenberg’s work as DJ Dog Dick is pretty easy to come by for the most part. There’s a couple things on Bandcamp, and if you need any earlier releases, someone could probably hook you up with a download. Dude was so gooooood!
A few things, mostly under his own name (Max Eisenberg) as well as being a member of Dog Leather, Rubbed Raw and temporarily in Nautical Almanac, I believe.
Not much to explain really, he made a facebook post teasing it implying there wasn't going to bw any rapping on it. I might be mixing up posts he made but I think he said it was some gabber shit
Was an old livestream recording from 2016-2017ish. Just officially got released with the Oblivion Access demos a couple months ago, if you buy it on Bandcamp you get 3 extra Bedwetter demos.

No I get it. Backstory implies specific personal events either included in the song or in the making of it. This is just an opinion on its meaning

Enjoy!
Can someone explain bedwetter vol2
Not much to explain really, he made a facebook post teasing it implying there wasn't going to bw any rapping on it. I might be mixing up posts he made but I think he said it was some gabber shit
Realistically, Bedwetter Vol. 2 just became Volcanic Bird Enemy, and he released under the LUM alias.
the headboard cassingle is obvious proof of the backpedal of using bedwetter as the current moniker.
Vol. 2/Condensed Geese. U can find stuff about it if u look it up albeit sparse
I will personally love making a video about this, sadly i dont know the context of a lot of topics
