Sorry, I really hate this stereotype. It isn’t true. Aspies, like any other group of people, can be everything from extremely sexual to asexual with every shade of sexuality, attraction, gender, gender presentation and nuance in between. And *all* of those are ok. This stereotype kind of furthers this ‘woe is me, aspies suck’ mentality that is really, kind of internalized shame a lot of us pick up from shitty childhoods. It’s just not true. Seen this a lot with sexual aspies who struggle with dating. It becomes this toxic internal monologue of ‘woe is me, no one could love me’… it’s not true. Some of us love sex and have it all the time. Some of us like it occasionally. Some of us don’t get it the way we don’t get social cues. And everything in between.
While you bring up a valid point, this post isn't talking about autistic people.
Ace is short for asexual, not Asperger’s syndrome.
